Win against a decent side at this level, who amassed 71 points last year, despite being poor in second half. Cant grudge at that! Shrewsbury should be a bit simpler you’d think

Nicholls went straight through their man Nope. Was given against Spencer. Holding, and the players momentum made it look spectacular as he twisted. Had it been Nicholls he would have been dismissed. I am just going off what the commentators said and the replays they showed from watching it on the tele. Nicholls did appear to charge into their man.

Suprisingly poor second half after dominating the first. We know where the issues are. If we dont sort them then expect more close games. Two wins will do..utt..

First half we looked a league above in terms of quality, 2nd wasn’t great they made a couple of changes and we looked a little complacent which could and really should of got them back in the game but I always thought we had another gear or two to go up if we needed too, all in all a good win and that’s all that matters.

Took the foot completely off the gas and were lucky their finishing was dreadful. It's a win but Duff won't tolerate half arsedness for long.

I think some people are forgetting that Stevenage just missed out on the play-offs last season.

Couldn’t ask for a better fixture up next so hopefully Healey is back and we make it 4 from 4.
Can’t argue with that start!

Second half somewhat flat, but that's an improvement on last season when it tended to be depressing. No idea what the pen was for. Onwards and upwards. UTT Grabbing around the waist. Happens all the times in games, corners, free kicks. Ref just decided was enough, and called it. Sucks to be called against us, when it happens in every game for every team across the entire country. But, in reality, it's hard to argue against it probably being a foul. Issue is ref had some really weird calls all game, and probably the only ref in the country to give that as a pen. We invited the pressure playing to their strengths, when we went direct. They're a decent, strong and physical team. ref was annoyingly poor , his bombastic ,inconsistent interfering manner tool the shine off the game . booked Evans 8 mins into the game for his first challenge, players questioning decisions all game and booed off topped off by giving them a foul on halfway by the dugouts second half then changing his mind after 4th official must have told him he’d got it wrong don’t often see that the second half will have given MD plenty to chew on second best for periods v a poor side after complete domination in the first loving our wing backs ,Wiles was class today wonder if Wardy will pay for the window he put through would have taken that at 3o clock happy UTT

A similar type second half performance against shrewsbury next week might not be so well received though.Beaten by todays opponents and hammered 4-1 at home by last weeks tells us everything we should need to know. Anyone turning up today and expecting similar to Tuesday was deluding themselves, that was decent but it was against a team favourites for relegation from league 2. Think as season goes by we’ll start to get to grips with what to expect most weeks and learn to be happy with the 3 points should we get the odd off half of football.

Very good first half but they made changes in the second half and we couldn't match their physical side of the game. They are a tough side to play against and another 5 minutes they would probably have snatched a point

God I'd forgotten how bad League One refs were. Overall, a comfortable win. Stevenage's chances were of our own making, just need to tidy up play at the back, a more competent team would have made us pay for those mistakes. Overall, positive game and I was glad to be back watching a live game, it's been a while since I was last able to go. He was awful.

People saying we were lucky to win need to give their head a wobble.
We were comfortably the best team in the first half but were disappointing 2nd half. Even so, Ward missed a sitter, they had 2 chances all game, apart from the pen, but people on here need to realise that other teams will get chances occasionally!
I'm absolutely gobsmacked at the officiating though, both linos & ref were shockingly bad.
We won, we move on but yes we can & will play a lot better.

Why would Nicholls have been sent off if he'd done whatever it was that Spencer did, given Spencer didn't get booked? 🤔

Peterborough didn't miss a gobber that changes the game, like I said lucky but will take it We'd have been 3-0 up if Ward hadn't missed a gobber, so it's swings and roundabouts. That’s football. It’s the old ‘if my granny had bollocks’ argument. Ipswich missed a few good chances in the first half v Liverpool but got absolutely wankered in the second half.

But like the man in the orthopedic shoes, I am happy to stand corrected. I actually called penalty before the ref gave it. In no way am I saying the ref was good, far from it. I just thought he got the two most mentioned decisions correct. (Pen, and Nicholls caution) Also, I quite like it when a ref has the good grace to change his decision when he is wrong, as he did with the half-way line free-kick. My goodness it's hard watching Town sober after all these years.

What we all need to remember is we can only beat who is in front of us. Some games we will play well, some games we’ll be terrible and scrape a result.
What matters is where we are come the end of the season. Hopefully still in the top two (preferably top!)

Its not playing better, its continuing to play, continuing to switch on, concentrate and work. Went to shit for 20 minutes. Thats what Duff saw, its what we have all seen for 2 seasons, just doing enough and simply stopping doing anything that got us into the lead or running a game. A negative cannot just be ignored because the result goes for us. They missed 2 absolute gobbers at 1 0. We have issues, even two wins does not alter that although if the manager is given a couple more signings I would back him to sort them.
