I guess there's a school of thought that might suggest if Hogg wasn't giving his all here, he'd potentially have not had a club at all in the last 3 or 4 years. I would question whether Pritchard truly is a mercenary too or we're just blinkered by circumstance. 80 appearances over 4 seasons (two of those being short PL seasons), and then went on to 99 appearances over 3 seasons with Sunderland...he'd also stayed contracted to Spurs for 5 years and had two seasons at Norwich before joining us...that all seems like a pretty normal career really. The mistake is that he was signed by a PL club that didn't know what it was doing on and off the pitch and he wasn't really good enough to play at that level. I think we're gonna have to agree to disagree here, especially on Pritchard. I used those two players as examples because they're polar opposites, or appear to be. Whilst Hogg came back barely two weeks after a suspected neck fracture, the ginger gnome (maybe mercenary was the incorrect word, but couldn't think of a more appropriate one, slacker perhaps?) was out for months with a fkn cyst. Your last line, you really can't resist a dig at the club can you We can debate Hogg's usefulness in the past 3 years til the cows come home but nobody can doubt his commitment and attitude. Edit: the club may have been in shit state at that time but to use that to excuse Pritchard is daft IMO I think its the " or appear to be" thats key. We really don't know. I mean whats a fact is that Hogg *didn't* have the cervical spine fracture he'd initially been diagnosed with, and there was no reason for him to then be out for an extended period of time. Pritchard DID have a cyst which he'd had before joining us and only then suffered pain...maybe through the increased training regime that Wagner brought in? He still featured in close to half of our games. On the final point, we WERE a basket case of a club in those seasons...clicking back through to the squad at the time to see who else had been around when Pritchard was on the books - how on earth did we end up with a PL squad that had players like Sabiri, Stankovic, Tommy Smith, Bacuna, Durm, Duhaney, Daly, Puncheon, Rowe making up the numbers!? Thats without even consdering Diakhaby and Mbenza, who make Burgzorg look World Class! You can't compete in the PL with 4 half decent players.

2 goals in 17, we're signing Danny ward mkII ? When he played 53 games in League One for Ipswich he scored 21. I'll take that any day.

My colleague is good friends with Pritchard and played golf with him not too long ago. He confirmed he was genuinely injured whilst with us.
Doesn’t detract from how utterly atrocious he was when he was on the pitch. It was like watching a 14 year old get pushed off the ball by far larger U21’s. He couldn’t get any elevation or power on any shots.
Truly one of the worst signings in the 100+ year history of the club.

Came across as very level-headed in the press conference so could benefit Town on two fronts, scoring goals and a good influence on his team-mates.

If his display last night is in any way representative of his level then we'd have been better keeping Simpson

Radulovic has come in for a lot of stick on here, but he looked a level above Ladapo when he came on.
He could actually trap the ball, laid it off a couple of times, created half decent link up play and at least had a decent chance on goal.
Not saying that Bojan is the answer to all our problems, but if he can stay fit he will do more than Ladapo for us this season.

Still wondering what Cartwright was thinking. 2 year deal? We’ve made some awful signings in recent years, but could this be the worst?

Much improved tonight, he actually won a header.
Perhaps on Saturday he might manage a pass to a team mate

Christ. Two year contract?!?! . I would have much preferred to see Harrat running around tonight like a headless chicken. Looks twice the player Ladapo does, aided by the fact he can run. I'm sure Duff said he needs his strikers to cover a lot of ground. If that's the case why on earth have they bought him?! Can't even win a bloody header!

Genuinely, I’d be more comfortable with Kyle Hudlin as an option after watching that tonight.

It's a tight call between him and Alex Dyer From hazy memory, Alex Dyer DID manage to score a goal for us. Struggling to see what sort of striker Ladapo is (aside from being a crap one). Doesn't shoot, can't run with it, can't hold it up, can't head it. I could be describing Radulovic there, too.
