Last time I remember seeing Northampton was way back in the mid 60s,in the second division, Championship equiv of course. Northampton had rapidly risen from 4th to 1st division, and just as rapidly made the return journey. Town were doing their usual, in with a chance of promotion until their usual Easter collapse. Over a three game Easter period, we managed to lose to Wolves both home and away, who at least along with Coventry got promoted, but also chucked in a 0-2 loss at home to Northampton, having one of those optimistic last few games shock wins, whilst still heading for relegation. As I said, typical Town. I remember that incredible period for Northampton...I went to their old 'County ground' to watch Town ..the cricket field was roped off down one touchline (like Sheffield Utds was)..so a bit surreal . Think we were behind the goals via a rather steep and dodgy set of wooden steps... if I recall correctly..

Sunny Gill Singh takes charge of his 2nd Town game this season (v Peterborough)......Same performance & result hopefully. He was terrible the first half of that game. They were buying free kicks left right and centre with the slightest grazing of the shorts - hope he’s learned his lesson from that game.

I think Town actually learnt the lesson, in as much as they stopped giving Peterborough easy options to fall over

I remember going to Northampton for a league cup game in 76/77 season and we won 1-0, i think it was Bob Newton who scored. Happy days

I remember some time ago at Leeds road we were playing Northampton and when their keeper bent over to pick the ball up and his bits hung out of his shorts. The guy I was with shouted 'It's huge hampton not Northampton'.

A 97th minute winner at Charlton (3-2 in Jan) & a 2-0 win at Burton (Feb) are the only two league victories away for the Cobblers so far this calendar year, they have recently drawn at Barnsley twice (Apr/Aug). They go to 100% at home Wrexham & Stockport next on the road so they will have to come up with decent plan to collect points from any of these games......A tricky fortnight for Town too with fixtures coming thick & fast, MD could use Saturday to give a couple a start or possibly wait till Tuesday?

The Cobblers will be coming to put the boot in!! so i will be happy with a 1-0. That's almost westislandterrier-esque.. Yes indeed - Hopefully we can Cobble up enough to get three points on Saturday... Preferably Town will Leather The Cobblers all the same - That being the case I wouldn’t like to be in their shoes 👞 for sure !

Great news Kane, Spencer and Kas back. Miller not serious, no need for scan, won't play as a precaution.

Miller will be a miss.
Headley needs to be on it from minute one. No being dozy and getting caught in possession.

Interesting to hear duff also say many good things about hoggy but also stress that at his age he can’t play every minute of every game but still needs to find a way to be a good influence if he doesn’t. Wonder if that’s a pre cursor to him sitting Saturday out.

Besides Hoggy and Nicholls no one seems to do any shouting the communication on the pitch seems poor.

Besides Hoggy and Nicholls no one seems to do any shouting the communication on the pitch seems poor. I don’t think that will be the case.in any team iv played in the higher level you play virtually everyone talks constantly it’s just some are much more vocal with it.There will be some that maybe are quiet but most will be as vocal as is required iv no doubt.

Besides Hoggy and Nicholls no one seems to do any shouting the communication on the pitch seems poor. Pearson (when he plays does) , but yes our team are very quiet. During pre season when the crowd were quiet you could hear a pin drop for example. You can't force people to be what they aren't, but to have a near enough full squad of quiet ones is odd.

Him and Sorensen really make this formation work. It’s a great chance for Headley to stake a claim for the shirt, you should hope he will be really up for it.
