Cracking result at the weekend but will we keep that momentum at home next match?
Or will we be back down to earth with a bump.
Fancy us to win, but maybe not by the margin against Bolton.....scrappy 2-1

We can go into this game absolutely full of confidence. Hopefully a good crowd, we are due a good home performance. Let’s put em to the sword. Town 5 Northampton 0.

I was at sixfields when Boothy scored a hat trick and could have had four but for the crossbar. Leon Knight was brilliant that evening too.

Wasn’t it Knight’s debut and he almost scored in the first couple of minutes after a great run? Looking forward to going to Sixfields again later in the season, always quite liked it. I’m up for this game as well.

I’d like to see a front two of Koroma and either Ladapo or Radulovic for this. Let’s put another statement down.

Win 4-0 away from home & drop the young kid who set up the first to get the ball rolling & some said I was harsh when managing local teams.......Can't see it this game but possibly rotate for Blackpool or maybe MD likes players playing for the shirt, I do.

They’ve won one game all season, absolutely nothing to fear at Home. Put them to the sword if we have any ambition about automatics.

Hodge in for Hogg would be my only change. This won't be his sort of game.

They have Luke Mbete on a season-long loan. I am pretty sure we got the better deal with Nigel Lonwijk.
They will be stubborn and hard to break down, similar probably to Shrewsbury. I hope our confidence is high enough to go at them from the off the way we did Bolton in the second half.
It's a Town win for me and I really don't care what the score is.

Marshall works very hard but don’t think he offers much (it was a good assist, granted). We brought him in as a 3rd/4th choice and I think that’s what he will grow to be. He’s not a bad player but I think we have better waiting in the wings.

Five league games inside 14 days is tough ask on young/older players for any squad, MD will have to juggle the pack to keep the team fresh/injury free, so no doubt both Lapado & Hodge will get game time from Marshall & Hogg. Other fringe players in the squad will be needed too, hopefully with us picking up as many points possible along the way.......It might be an idea for the Town/Barnsley trophy game to be played on the free Saturday 12th (If both are free due to call ups).

Barnsley didn't have their game postponed during the last international break so, unless their opponents have it postponed, the game won't be played on a Saturday because of Barnsley having an array of internationals away on duty.

As I already mentioned, I watched Northampton lose to Wycombe (1-2) in the Saturday lunchtime kick off. Wycombe looked good, but Northampton were poor, especially defensively. They played with two up front, Morton and McGeehan who didn't impress me, but are quick on the break. Sam Hoskins played on the left of a 4-4-2 and looked useful. He scored 15 goals in the league last season and 22 the season before. He scored a penalty in this game. Tyler Roberts (remember him - on loan from Birmingham) plays on the right.
They seem to like this formation, but I think they may revert to a 4-2-3-1 against Town, which was their formation for the first game of the season when they lost to Exeter 0-2.
Cagey affair this one I think and we may have difficulty in breaking them down. 1-0 would be fine.
