After last night’s monstrosity what are we feeling for Saturday? I’m as perplexed by the stench around the club as anyone. I felt the stadium turning toxic again last night and fear for the worst but and it’s a big but we can still turn this around. Reading are no great shakes let’s go there and reaffirm who we are and what we want to achieve in this league!
2–1 town.

Huge game for Duff. Lose this and i imagine we also lose the game after.
Seems bonkers to say it but we could be playing Barnsley with his job on the line.

Given we have just lost 2 home games and are still in the play-off places, it must mean the teams below are beating each other and slowly catching up.
Looks like heads have dropped again as per previous seasons, so the losing mentality will be even more ingrained.
If we lose the next two games, we could slide significantly down. Do that and we'll be talking of avoiding the drop to League 2 and not about promotion. Not sure if that happens they can get out of it.
Lots of "ifs" and "buts" in there, however I can see it happening, hope I'm wrong.

Is this game still being targeted by the reading fans to protest?

We're favourites against them somehow. Reading 15/8 lump your money on.

Is this game still being targeted by the reading fans to protest? Any pitch invaders should target the space behind our wing backs, there’s plenty of room for a sizeable demonstration there.

Is this game still being targeted by the reading fans to protest? Be interesting to see if this threat is carried out once they go one up!

Apparently the pressure of playing at home is too much for some of our delicate bunch? I don't know where we find all these fragile, spineless players from? Snatched from their mummy's teet at a guess?

Certainly the players are better than what they are producing as a team. Be interesting to know what the players are saying to each other away from the ears of management. We're supposed to have these 'team leaders' now aren't we, will they be garnering all the players thoughts and presenting them to management...and what will they be...'we can't play with this formation and style' ? and what will Duff say.. 'you'll do as you're f****** told ' ?

I suspect MD will go to the tried & tested at Peterboro/Bolton in the next two away games, if we get a positive result from both he will think right that's one problem sorted time to look at our home setup. If we lose poorly again like this week he will have to look at maybe starting afresh during the international break.......Its all a bit 'up in the air' at present.

Other than a 4-3-3 the only way for me we can keep a 3 at the back is if we play as a 3-4-2-1.That way 2 deeper lying midfielders can help cover the space left by the wing backs behind them.It should also provide more options on the ball to work through the midfield to progress the ball up the pitch on the deck. If I were to go with that I’d go Nicholls Spencer Helik(though at present is either lees or Pearson better centrally) Lonwijk Sorensen(last chance saloon) Kasumu Hodge Miller(hopefully,if not headley) Kane/evans Iorpenda Koroma
If Hogg can play I don’t mind him in there instead of Kasumu if hodge is there to take the ball.If that’s the case I’d shift Kasumu out to wing back and drop Sorensen

2-0 Town, but only because it seems Duff's "system" fares better in away games.
Can't believe the contrast we're seeing between home and away results and performances.

4 - 0 Reading, we just might have 1 shot on target, in that case could be 4 - 1.

Come on Town give us something positive to cheer for fooks sake but if we play the same tactics it's not going to work. Moving to a more orthodox formation would help but we have no wingers, unless Koroma is pushed out wide and if Miller is fit him out wide left, who's up front then? Bojan and Lapado? Bojan and Marshall? Marshall and Lapado?

Normally I’d have gone to this but we are actually back in Birstall from Thursday night for a funeral on Friday and we won’t be back in time. Can’t say I’m disappointed but maybe playing away may help? I’m regretting buying a ticket for the Barnsley game the week after though. Too many trips up and down the M1/M25 recently.

Shit place, shit ground, shit team. Used to know a few Reading fans, all wankers. Looked after the Wolves team at Burnham Beeches before they beat them in the playoffs way back. Well chuffed for them. Once walked from the train station to Elm Park too, right trek, took fucking ages. Can’t stand fucking Reading.
Reading 2-0 Town

Blackpool didnt come to sit in. So we have lost to teams playing both ways? The similarity in both is they worked harder than us and covered more ground supporting each other. If Reading outwork us, we wont win unless any and all the luck goes with us.

It would be just our luck to be winning 3-0 and there is a pitch invasion and the game gets abandoned.

2v0 Reading and then a right fooking tanking at Birmingham. With the lack of confidence and no clue how to change things round from our saviour Duff, plus injuries piling up I just don't see where the next points are coming from at the moment🙃

This is the start of a run of difficult fixtures and I really fear for Michael Duff because he is going to be the scapegoat when it all goes wrong. He has inherited a mess and will not be given the chance to turn the ship around. Cartwright is safe and so someone else will carry the can. If we don't win on Saturday God help us because we will be hammered at Brum and almost certainly lose to an in form Barnsley at home. Where Duff goes from there I don't know.

If they gave Darren Moore the time he got duff needs at least the same.Things have taken a turn towards the worse quickly but could quite easily right themselves just as quickly. The run after this next few games you mention does not look as challenging and though you could have said that about the last two games I don’t believe we will play as poorly in all of them. Let’s just as a fan base hang bloody fire with going in balls deep on another manager.
