Hodge is playing a lot of minutes at international level, so not dropped but managed (IMO). We could see a completely different line up on Tuesday......Keep everyone guessing, us included?

Fear not - Duff has come up with a new cunning plan. Our midfield has been told to pass to a Reading player whenever they get the ball. Good chance they will miss their target and we will keep possession. Simples!

I can kind of understand bringing Evans in as he’s performed relatively well away from home, and wiles is long overdue being dropped, but dropping our best player from the last two games is very very strange indeed. I really hope Kasumu can add some much needed mobility into our midfield. He could be an important player this season but it’s not good pinning your hopes on an injury prone player.

That team selection certainly addresses what we all saw Tuesday. Zero bite in midfield and acres of space down Blackpool’s left hand side.
There is zero flair in that 11 but i think Hodge is the only one with any right to complain. After Tuesday though Hogg and Kasumu were inevitable. Sure Joe will be the first sub if we are not winning on 60 minutes or losing on 45.
I expect turgid game from that team but that might not be a bad thing the way it’s going for Reading. Watching this game for 45 minutes hopefully will have the home fans nodding off before the second half.

Being the best player is two dreadful performances??? Duff doesn’t seem to able the win. Don’t make changes gets abuse, makes changes gets abuse. Makes subs too early makes subs to late. The whole lot needs time to settle down a bit. Winning the opening 3 games hasn’t done him any favours imho

Only thing I can think with hodge being left out is maybe there are some stipulations from wolves on how much he can play in one game week.Because shifting to a likely more defensive wing back on the right did we then need two holding midfielders?Unless Kasumu is seen as a more box to box option maybe.

6 changes is some statement that he’s intending to put right what’s going wrong. Good to see in my opinion - you’d think he’s done his homework on Reading whilst hopefully addressing the weaknesses exposed in the last few games. Totally agree with the inclusion of Kasumu, can’t knock his energy.

Not the side I would have picked, but we shall see! Not writing anything off for certain. There’s bite in there with the return of Hogg and introductions of Spencer and Kasumu to this side (in a new role for Spencer).

I have been pretty optimistic looking ahead at this season. My attitudes slowly changing back to how I was the prior few seasons. Looking at the starting eleven and subs bench every game. And thinking what a load of shite.
Anyway, plenty of time to get back on track. I'm going for 1-1 today.

Sifting through all the predicable pissing and moaning above I see no-one has mentioned the good news of Mickel Miller being back in the squad.

I wonder if Reading will have worked us out. Playing balls over the top of our glacial speed defence.

Eight players in that squad that got us relegated last season. What a shambles the summer window was. Think we are in for another long afternoon.

Dropping hodge to play two cms who can’t pass is an interesting one The last month has surely shown how much we’ve missed Kasumu’s energy. Only midfielder with physicality that can go past a man with the ball. Would like to think with a bit more confidence we’d have Hodge in for Hogg but can see why he’s done it. Iorpenda can and is better than kasumu. He can pass a ball.

Commentary says Nichols in goal 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ Really knowledgeable this commentator. Not one mention of the keeper NOT being Nicholls. I'll cut the Sky guy a bit of slack. He might not recognise each individual player, and it's unlikely that Chapman has turned his back on the commentary box. Two touches so far. Also it seems to have been very last-second, teams literally going in as was, and Chapman coming out as number 1. Now he's mentioned it. Do we have a keeper on the bench? Yes we do, Hurl.

If he's given the foul on Kasumu, surely he has to book the Reading player? He's free down the wing without being taken out
