Was very tempted to do something else with my Saturday this weekend but I do think this is where our fortunes will turn around. Get Hodge in the middle with Kasumu with Miller creating and I think we can get back to winning ways. It’s the hope that kills you.

Tuesday nights trophy game sees PL ref Michael Salisbury at JSS for his 1st time at the stadium, he has refereed Town away on five previous occasions including this years FAC tie at the Etihad.....Seems a bit of a strange appointment, he will be on VAR duty for the Gunners v Saints beforehand on Saturday.

F*ucks sake - Just noticed this is a bloody 12.30 pm Kick-Off...
So bang goes the plan for the 2.30 pm bus to the best footy bar in The Whisky Isle then...
Option two is in at 9.50 am bus (and I’m as hopeless in the mornings as Town are at football these days) and hang around until midday opening time... ☹️ 😬 ☹️
Sky TV Simply Don’t give a Continental F*uck for any football fans these days whatsoever ! 🤮

Hey up tha nos, nothing but a Barnsley win 3-1 and i wonder what our record is for games with out a win. I have watched Town for a long time and this is down there with the worst, because without a doubt its division 2 here we come, unless drastic measures are taken and taken very soon.

I reckon we'll stop the freefall against Barnsley. It's a must win and everyone knows it.

433 Chapman/Nicholls Spencer Pearson Longwijk Miller Kane Hogg Hodge Sorensen Bojan/Ladapo Koroma Nicholls is out for 10-12 weeks Ah, hadn't picked up on that. Great! Chapman it is then, though I do like Maxwell and would play him if he's fit

From who may be fit... Chapman Sorensen lees pearson miller Hodge kasumu Iorpenda Evans Kane . Koroma Back 4 so they all know what they are supposed to be doing and where they are doing it. Spencer and the new lad are cover for all 4. Full backs who can support forward but who have 3 central midfielders of which one can drop in as cover. Kane because he can pass the fucking ball and he has 3 central midfielders, one of whom can cover him and support him by taking easy passes and give it him back... Evans to support forward the single striker in most open play scenarios, with Kane supporting him and 3 central midfielders suppprting and covering them?? Ie, use the midfield fucking better to go forward and then to defend. The 3 central defenders and 2 wide midfielders bollocks with wing backs is leaving us short on turnover down the wide and totally gaping down the middle, we are watching it happen...🤪 Sorensen can’t defend (or attack at the moment) and Miller needs to be further forward, but I agree that a back 4 (with Spence and Lonwijk as full backs) is so glaringly obvious that it can only be dogmatism which stops Duff adopting it

Nicholls is out for 10-12 weeks Ah, hadn't picked up on that. Great! Chapman it is then, though I do like Maxwell and would play him if he's fit I think playing Chapman last night, when Maxwell was available, was a huge vote of confidence in the lad. I’d have no qualms with him being our number 1 in Nicholls’ absence - if he loses form, Maxwell is ready to go. It’s time the lad had a chance to nail down a shirt, and this might be it. Never done anything wrong when he’s played in the past, in the limited games he’s played (4 starts and a sub appearance).

I thought that was shit management after saying in the press conference that Helik kicking the ball in to his own net was just one of those things but Longwijk made a big mistake.

Far quicker and more accurately than Nicholls does. Not the tallest though which means he doesn't fill you with the same confidence as a keeper like Nicholls does

New formation tried today in training behind closed doors for 30 mins. The mannequins had 75% possession. UTT. It’s a step in the right direction

Chapman Spencer | Pearson | Longwijk Sorenson | Hodge | Iorpenda | Wiles | Miller Koroma | Bojan You can change Wiles for Evans or whoever. They're all ridiculously out of form. This is what it should be, but will it be? Will it fuck

Was Longwijk injured the other day? In the bits I’ve seen he looks decent and has played some good passes forward. Like someone says seems he was dropped. He’s quality on the ball but he has made 2/3 errors now,so maybe it’s not hanging him out to dry but pulling him out to refocus him. It’s up to the player how he responds to that in truth.

Where has Kane disappeared too ? Injured again ? I think duff said after Blackpool game that after his injury when he played in that game it was clear he just wasn’t ready. I’m absolutely certain that has he come back to pre season as fit as the others(and those are duffs words on a couple of occasions) that he would have started the season in the first team.Either in place of Hogg deeper or more likely in place of one of wiles or evans. Those two seem to do very similar things and if those things are stopped by opposition then they’re both ineffective. Let’s see if he can get back to pretty much match fitness with that extra bit of time off due to the Orient game being postponed because I think he could really add something to the side….accurate and creative passing.

I really hope Saturday isn’t Duffs last game, cannot allow the untouchable Cartwrong to appoint another manager we’ve been tracking all summer, I do think Duff will get it right with patience and more of his own players…still dealing with a core group of absolute losers, until they are moved on nothing will change

Saw someone mention 3-4-3 as a potential formation. Would definitely like to see this being worked on, Marshall on the right and Koroma on the left as inside forwards joining the central striker - Bojan probably the best bet there currently.
Chapman Spencer Lees/Pearson Longwijk Sorensen Kasumu Evans Miller Marshall Bojan Koroma

Would definitely like to see this being worked on, Marshall on the right and Koroma on the left as inside forwards joining the central striker - Bojan probably the best bet there currently. Chapman Spencer Lees/Pearson Longwijk Sorensen Kasumu Evans Miller Marshall Bojan Koroma ‘Twas me.I think iv gone on about about it too much to be honest but there you go!Id pick the same side as you there other than maybe I’d be tempted to stick Joe hodge in for evans as better close control and passing.Though suppose lose out on physical presence and set piece delivery/threat.If Kane was match fit it would be him as he has both the hodge attributes plus the free kick. Play koroma left and Marshall right as can cut in and shoot, cross or play a reverse pass for an overlapping wing back. They can also do the hard pressing for Bojan. On Bojan he’s working his way back to fitness but he’s looked a decent link man on the deck and i think the lad can finish. He should concentrate on them.No good kicking high balls up to him,or any of them for that matter. One main reason I’d look at it is because yes the wing backs need to overlap(I’d have Marshall and koroma relatively narrow) but they don’t need to stand ridiculously high the whole game,so less space in behind them.Kasumu provides plenty of energy and cover,he was the highest man in the press only to be the one then covering centrally at the back on a few occasions.Lacks quality on the ball which is why you need a hodge/Kane next to him. Lastly as iv harped on enough is I think off the ball 3-4-3 can drop into a 4-4-2 which is a simple formation to drop into and two banks of 4 don’t leave uggins of space(if you’ve got the mobility in midfield) Right I won’t mention it again now.It also probably wouldn’t work and I’d look a tit but there you go
