My first Town game was 1972 , so I’m used to the downs and downs of supporting Town
But being totally and utterly embarrassed is something that has only happened in the last 5 years
Wonder if KN receives a shit loads of wapps from people you haven’t heard from in years having a laugh

Reason why we lost that game last night - some say tactics......some say player ability. Others say a set of bone idle , over paid set of losers but for me the REAL reason we lost, is that we didn't sing this....THE ONLY FUCKING TIME THAT THIS GOD AWFUL SONG SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUNG AND IT WASNT ! - IN FACT THERE WASNT A FUCKING PEEP OUT OF THE "FANS" (WHO GOBBLED UP ALL THE TICKETS) BEHIND THAT GOAL. YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE TAKEN YOUR FUCKING SPAFF MAGS AND KNITTING
We sing this shite at home games where it isn't relevant and when we should sing it not a fucking peep. Disgraceful.
Shite song, shite team , shite away fans at Tamworth.

If by some miracle, we actually make the playoffs, would you back Duff's man management and tactics, along with our fragile 'footballers'?
Really?

A team like Tamworth actually sat back and let us have the ball, this to me says a lot about how they took the piss, knowing we have a team with no passion or drive, and clueless at scoring goals, we do not gell as a team, it is like watching 10 individual players doing there own stuff.

You pose a pertinent question that I pondered last night as well. The standard in the league is poor and we've got the tools that can edge games and probably win enough to make the playoffs, even make the top 2 with a bit of luck but Duff's inflexibility is a cause for concern. Is it his workings with Dyche where survival is priority that has dictated his mindset. I get it worked at Cheltenham because of their expectations. Swansea was a calamity. Do we stick with him to get us out of this league and then bin him off? There was outrage when Moore got sacked at Wednesday for getting them promoted but did they make the right call? If Duff gets us promoted without creating any buzz is that enough for fans? Last night was abject from all concerned but is Duff gambling on promotion to save his reputation?

Apart from random fans calling Tom Tonks names, I didn't hear a peep from town fans last night. Just looked like they were stood there in utter disbelief... which for a town fan is weird, as we're used to watching garbage in recent times.

Just watched our seven year old grandson score the only goal in his first game (of five) at a football tournament in Carshalton. Looks far sharper than Radulovic and Ward combined.

I thought it was probably a foul on the keeper, but even if it was it was still piss weak goalkeeping. We were never going to just turn up and brush them aside... theyre a good side, used to winning, and on their own very different pitch in the biggest game of their careers. Of course we should win, but it was never a foregone conclusion. Why the cameras were there in the first place. I couldn't really give a shit about being knocked out of the FAC..cups are now a meaningless distraction to what matters....but doing it on national Tv against some part time players is embarrassing to say the least. We're not the first by a very long way though and we wont be the last, so think we just need to suck it up and move on. In the downward trajectory weve had over the past few seasons, lets hope this is the low point of that. If we go back up in May, no one will care less about last night. What? Come on.. They are 2 divisions below us - mid/lower table at that, have one of the worst defences in their league and have only scored 19 goals in their 16 games. We should have been brushing them aside. No matter what the line up, pitch, conditions, what throwing specialists they have. Pathetic. Theyve had a great upwards trajectory over the past 2 or 3 years. They are a club full of confidence who are used to wining games. Level 5 isnt a shit level...yes we should beat a side from there, but they arent going to be any mugs is what Im saying. I watch quite a bit of level 6 football and that isnt shit either these days. They get the ball on the floor and knock it about very well. Weve lost cup games to clubs 2 divisions below us several times,,,even on our own pitch. banana skins are there to be slipped on and it was us this time...hey ho..Id take losing that game if it meant we win the next one.

The response is all that matters now.
Our last loss in the cup triggered an appalling run in the league, so it's imperative that does not happen again now, and that we instead carry on what has been some good form in the league.

Can someone enlighten me what 3 formations did we play?
1. 532
The other 2?
I’ll give Duff credit last few weeks for switching to two & a one higher in the midfield had helped a lot rather than one & two higher which had so many gaps / left the back three exposed (I had no idea what it was yesterday Kasumu didn’t count as half) but maybe he means a variation of 532 in the midfield as 2nd formation?

So, did any players front up for post match interview? Can’t find one. The Press should blackball whoever is put up for the next match. Players should take the rough with the rougher and not shy away in case the nasty man says something they don’t like.

Sutton is an annoying wanker, but he had us absolutely pegged after about 10 minutes. There was a lack urgency right from the kick-off. As he pointed out, bizarrely there was even less urgency in the second-half. I didn't see any players out there who were fighting for the badge, spurring their colleagues on to avoid what was an embarrassment. I realise that Duff inherited a bunch of slackers, but he really hasn't changed that at all. This is now HIS team. If we want to stand any chance of going up (a laughable thought at this moment in time) then we need someone who can really inspire. Ironically, the system he's playing would probably work really well if the players gave a shit. The total lack of guts and determination is what's letting us down time and time again. Radulovic. I've given him pelters since he signed and for some reason felt a little bad about it. However, what a lily-livered talent vacuum he really is. One of the most scandalous wastes of money in our history, and he has the utter temerity to sit in a press conference and say that Huddersfield is a 'boring' place. If he wants to be shown what being 'bored' really is, I'd be happy for him to be locked in a pitch-black room until he ate his own head. Well that cheered me up a bit! Very well put.

"If we beat Crawley, we can forget this match" might be true but Crawley are in our division, not 2 divisions below. I assume they get BBC2 reception in the Crawley area. 😏 They will have noticed all our failings and fragility and I wouldn't bet anyone's money on us getting a result there either. The bottom line is we have some very poor footballers in our squad right now

I didn’t watch hardly any of the game, the last 20 minutes probably. However what iv read he started the game having gone back to the 3-1-4-2(or that was the idea) and then shifted second half to what we’ve been doing more recently with a 3-4-1-2.Not sure what other variant there could be in honesty unless we switched to something completely different that I didn’t see. Facts of the matter are tactics last night so be virtually irrelevant as should selection. From what I saw of the game we didn’t win any sort of challenge(duel or whatever they call it these days) and were second best in every one of them.If you can’t win those tactics, style of play and setup are completely out of the picture. No fight no urgency and got what we deserved. On those last two points iv no doubt that duff can get fired up behind the scenes and get into the players he has that side to him iv no doubt at all but it’s impossible to make players have that once the game kicks off.It should be a bare minimum but apparently for a lot of our players,it is not. He’s right when he says that should be the minimum and you can’t pick and choose which games you get up for. The only shred to come from this game is that hopefully it’s another rocket up the players to show them they simply aren’t good enough to come off it no matter the opposition and being a cup game at very least it doesn’t hurt the points tally.

I dont know what's more embarrassing the team or the prawn sandwich brigade. Even the BBC picked up on Tamworth's "predictable passion and commitment" dumping out Town. The fact some people dont care about losing any game says a lot about the modern state of the game and the hangers on its attracted. Real fans unlike these jokers know their team will lose but like real footballers they still have a mentality and passion that cares.

It was the manner of defeat Slapps. We had a couple of chances in the first half, but for some reason didn’t build up any sort of momentum or pressure. To say we were chasing the game in the second half we took zero risks to try and get back into the game. The second half performance was disgraceful, even allowing for their time wasting. Where was the energy and the urgency? Iorpenda started carrying the ball a bit at the start of the second half and giving them something to think about, so what does Duff do? If ever you wanted to see what an absolutely tepid in a cup game looks like, just replay the 90 mins from last night. And yes, we win the next game and a few beyond that, all of this will be forgotten. But the nature of our play this season makes me think we still have a lot of problems back office that aren’t being sorted out. Can anyone offer any game this season where we’ve played cracking front foot football??? From my recollection the only game people have said we were anything close to that was v Morecambe?

Where’s all the usual bellcheeses tonight? Dan making his cocky comments to get a few likes, shortbread turning on everyone, is this acceptable? That was embarrassing. Doesn’t matter if we are unbeaten in 4. Yet again, we are the laughing stock. Conceded or lost the most amount of games in the last ten years ( in that brilliant league table). And our manager wonders why the fans don’t trust him? Are you surprised? Make all the shitty clothing you like, we need to learn to be a respectable club. Just as you think we are turning a corner, we go back to square one. Careful though, we aren’t allowed to criticise Kevin because he painted the stadium. 'Shortbread turning on everyone'? Look at my post earlier on this thread. I said it was embarrassing. Who's the bellcheese now?

I shouldn't have to say this because I know some of you are grown men, football and sport in general is about winning. Anyone who doesn't care about winning should consider tennis or stamp collecting, I hear Wimbledon does a nice prawn sandwich.
