Yet again Wiles shows his value to this team. 6 goals and 4 assists now from midfield and we’re only in mid November. Still doesn’t stop his detractors having a go though. The evidence of that is all over this match thread and has been going on all season really. Pathetic really. A genuine match winner and first name on the team sheet for me. There's a reason why Duff picks him every single game. We need him to stay fit if we're going to stay up

Got to keep Kane fit at all costs. Played very well second half - was running the game. Hopefully more to come

Shame the rest of the team haven’t stepped up as much but I have a feeling healey might get a good run going if he stays fit

Just worked out who Tog reminds me of… Nah ..Ray Von is funny. Why does TOG always thank the away fans? I hate that. Shabba!

He’s clever at creating himself a yard of space to make those passes with little body movements or letting the ball run across him.

Just need something upfront now

Tom Lees has just scored in the last minute for Town Toby, his brother has just equalised in the last minute for Darlo. His brother Hercue also scored. Their Sara is going to make them all cakes to celebrate

I have to confess that I enjoyed that second half. The first half was very poor - we looked insipid, almost surprised by their physical approach. We let them play some pretty passing triangles and looked a bit off it. That said, we scored and created more chances than they did - their goal was pretty much their only chance all night. (A running theme in games, that. One shot on target, one goal, and nothing to do with the goalkeeper).
After they spent the first half kicking us, we kicked them back in the second half and they didn’t like it. Kane got his foot on the ball, Ward came in and made a difference, and in the end 4-1 was a fair reflection of the way it went. Maybe 4-0, as Chapman didn’t have to get his gloves dirty.

Totally dominated second half. Two good penalty shouts not given and we missed some great chances but still won easily. Some of the comments on here in the first half were shameful. It’s a common theme whenever we are not winning. I think some are only capable of negative/abusive comments and get a kick out of calling everything shit. We all know we are struggling, but trying to turn round a sinking ship is going to take time and patience. The standard of football is not great but we are as good as most in this division - IMO

Been out so only saw final result. It may be a Tinpot trophy and muddied by the inclusion of prem teams but a good result builds confidence and that's exactly what this team needs, along with some character and leadership. If we can take an upturn in confidence into the next league outing then that can only be a good thing.

3,021 attendance. Only Colchester v Arsenal (4,265) and Lincoln v Man City 3,055 higher.

Positive: Bojan did win his share of headers in the first half. Outcome: He’s still the worst striker I’ve seen wear a town shirt in 20 years. Suggestion: Play Wiles alongside one striker up top and add another midfielder - ideally not Hogg

Checked the score, saw we won 4-1. Thought lets jump on the match thread as there must still be plenty of outrage. Wasn't disappointed.

Having attended the game, must say, I quite enjoyed it, well 2nd half anyway, worth 10 quid. Good 2nd half performance, Kasumu's introduction benefitted the team greatly, Wiles played well, excellent strike, as did Kane. Silly goal concede to a team that rarely threatened and were robust in their physicality. Ref was shocking, he's probably thinking it's the only time I'll ever ref a Manchester United game do I'll stay true and give them everything!! Never seen a game in this competition with so many yellow cards!!!
When's the deaw for the next round? Bradford would be nice.

We were dreadful first half pete - truly awful....and after tamworth, donny and Walsall that's unacceptable. Got better as the game wore on and their fitness waned but gotta be honest and say it's not a great entertaining watch right now. There's a lack of identity and structure imho - the gaps between the lines were huge at times considering the opponents were pretty weak. It was almost like we were playing with the handbrake on. Much better 2nd half but I don't see the current squad getting promoted this season - just don't think we are good enough but hope I'm wrong.

I thought some fans would be infuriated that we conceded against Man Utd's 7th side. I seem to recall Denis Law made his debut for Town aged 16 and the rest is history.

At least Bojan does something even if it's not very good. It's hard to imagine a player having less impact than Ladapo has had in his gametime. 2 in 2 for Healey. Thought he was going to go off injured again after taking a bit of a knock early on when their guy yanked him back by the arm when he was breaking away ( yet somehow didnt get booked for it ) Good bit of resilience for a change from him as he stuck it out and stayed on. Hopefully he can be the answer to our forward issues as his confidence grows.

I think it’s telling that duff wasn’t right happy in the post match.Said first half wasn’t good enough and that players can’t pick and choose when they want to do the basics…mentioned standards and none negotiables. We’ve been here before with some of these players and he has to even in his short time. Mentioned the standards should be the same for every game and would tend to agree. Some managers may let players get away with certain things in this competition but he knows the players aren’t in a place to do that.He knows he needs to keep winning game after game to one,be successful but two,be able to backup what he’s telling them. There will no doubt be more lapses to come but in general I think they’ve realised they can’t pick and choose in the league,Northampton,Blackpool and reading taught them that. I really do like duff because although he brought up all that stuff he managed to balance it out and say at least they reacted to his half time bollocking. I think give him a few more players who will keep the standards high and some more pace at the back and up top and we’d end up seeing much more entertaining stuff also.

Yes a win is a win, even against an u21 side.but that goal we conceded and in fact our entire left flank...
Also lots of sloppy play again, players not marking up, out of position, passing to opponents.missing easy chances.it's all still there.
I don't see much progress tbh... sorry to be a doom monger and I do hope this break sees us sort this out. A half decent opponent would have beaten us.

The players were certainly up for it. I don't understand the criticism for the first half performance and Oggy sounded perplexed on Radio Leeds when Duff said he'd given them short shrift at half time. Yes, Kasumu was excellent and Turton is our best crosser of the ball. I'd be looking to start Healey up front for the next league game. Let's just hope that the ref from the Huddersfield and District League doesn't never refereess us again.

Fortunately many of the squad will be out of contract and gone at the end of the season. Unfortunately their picking and choosing of when to put in a performance will reflect that. We have a squad devoid of pace, talent, guile and most importantly, heart. The thought of these jokers turning out in the championship again is laughable. UTT

Let's just hope that the ref from the Huddersfield and District League doesn't never refereess us again. Disagree about the first half,I thought duff was spot on.First 15/20 we were slow and sloppy and gave the ball away constantly. We also seemed surprised by how physical their young lads were, some pretty hefty challenges. When Kasumu came on we improved and took over,he dished out a few tackles himself. We then got sloppy again last 10 minutes of the half. Second half completely dominant and at it.That’s what duff was referring to,the difference in standards for just the basics for 50% of the first half to the second half were very different. Oggy may have been surprised but he’s there interviewing him after a win and he’s a journalist and despite commentating on it he’s not the most football savvy. It’s duffs job to see the things that a laymen doesn’t and I’m glad he does see it. The fact they reacted well to a bollockinh at half time is a good thing though,no sulking. He’s also pointing out about iorpenda that why be selfish and play if you’re ill,do what’s best for the team, was there maybe the same issue with ward at Tamworth? He wants high standards mentally and in doing the basics and he wants honesty. If that’s what he’s trying to instill in and amongst the actual tactics and style etc then I’m all for it.
