I wasn't going to add to these comments but just want to take a second to say how sad and how shocked I am by this. I am still numb thinking that this has happened so I cannot imagine what his family are going through.
I'm not going to get into a debate about who the victims are or why he has done it, as far as I have heard nothing has officially been confirmed. All I know is this is a very sad time and my thoughts are with him and his family.
I have an 18 month old son and if he ever gets interested in football and is any good at it I will tell him to look up to Gary Speed. True professional and from what I have a read a cracking bloke aswell.

Thrice, I don't know you, and I wouldn't wish to judge you for opinions. What I would say is that unless a person has had something extraordinary thrown at them in life it can be incredibly difficult for them to have compassion for the actions of others sometimes.
People in desperate circumstances can lose perspective to the point of not even understanding what right and wrong is - hence there is no concept of it to them.
I'm not religious, but to coin a phrase, "There but for the grace of God go I", so personally, I don't believe judgement should be applied in situations like this.
It is an incredibly sad reality.

A very very thin dividing line between not doing what he did and doing it, and I have to say that I have even heard comments ( not on here ) saying that its the easy way out !!!! makes me very angry as the person can not see any alternative and the judgement is totally clouded..... |

Just thought I'd let you guys know the memorial at ER is for everyone. Scum shirts are down, we'd not be opposed to you guys either. I know it'll be hard for you to come anywhere near ER but the offer is there if any of you want to put down a shirt to show that, no matter what happens in football, there's somethings that rise above that.

I think it's about time to close this thread before it turns from one of condolence to one of the whys and wherefores of suicide, which may leave a bad taste where it isn't wanted or needed.

I know it'll be hard for you to come anywhere near ER but the offer is there if any of you want to put down a shirt to show that, no matter what happens in football, there's somethings that rise above that. RIP GARY SPEED. I will stop by elland road and pay respects to the great footballer and by all accounts great person. Thoughts with his family and friends. Hope we see or hear his name tonight in the crowd at Charlton tonight. |

Nice to see the DATM Psychiatrists and Doctors are deeming it as depression, when no sod knows the truth.
It's a truly shocking and at this moment truly inexplicable thing that has happened and until after the investigation i think all assumptions and aspersions people have from whatever angle your coming from should be kept to themselves.
