No one has to use the catering outlets, so you take your choice and pays your money. personally I rarely use them opting for a pint at the pub and a last minute entry into the ground. I suspect the majority of fans aren't attracted by what's on offer, nor the ridiculous pricing, but I also believe the real money in the catering contract is elsewhere (the corporate boxes and the lounge areas).

Went to the Deportivo friendly last night with my son and 2 grandsons. Bought 2 Pints of Fosters, 2 Cokes, one Hotdog, One Pie - Cost? Just over £17 !! Was this right or was the girl serving me boosting her wages?? As long as idiots like me buy from these extortionate retailers then the prices will be stay stupid. However, I will not buy anyhting inside the ground again. Good game though.

Sodexo at the John Smith’s Stadium are pleased introduce themselves on Down at the Mac. This will be a great platform to inform you of new changes, future plans and for you the fans, to submit constructive feedback / suggestions for improvement. We are a relatively new team at the stadium and really want to improve the entire match day catering service. We are positive with your assistance we can make the John Smith’s Stadium the best in The Football League. Sodexo Team Your lack of response shows just how much you care about customer feedback. Youve handled yourselves atrociously in all honesty.

Call me Mr Cynical but with the slight revamping of the concourse catering facilities there seems to have been a focus upon telling fans about the great deals that are on offer (trust me they're not great) but I also suspect that not having clear pricing for every item visible whilst queuing is a deliberate ploy to rip off fans. £14.90 for a pint of cloudy Fosters, a vend coffee and 2 potato and meat pies is a tad excessive I can buy award winning pies from the local farm shop for £1.60each, bring a flask of coffee for pennies and get proper cask conditioned ale for under £3 in my local boozer or even within a short distance of the ground. Where's the incentive to pay over the odds and feel ripped off? Also what's with the sachets of brown sauce but pump bottles of ketchup? Logic? The coffee is for a disabled lad and he likes ketchup on his pie (wimp) I can't take the pie out of the wrapping and carry it, my pie and his coffee. Obviously a cost saving and a reduction in service quality. Not a happy bunny

- I went for a pie the other week.
- I couldn't see a price for individual pie.
- I walked away.

Queues were short in the SS on Tuesday, service pretty good. They only had one of the two outlets open as well, so obviously more capacity is there if needed. Noticed Brian from Sodhexo was in the outlet as well, making sure everything was Ok.
It's nice to be able to watch all the first half, have time to get a pint and sup it, then be able to get back into the stand before the players have come out of the tunnel.

Maybe you could start by getting Sodexo (or Sod 'em, as they should be called) to come back on here and provide answers ? It's all very well announcing yourself as the new guardians of top quality catering...then just bloody disappearing when things aren't happening. We're not daft enough to not realise that all the money is in the main catering in the riverside stand, and the corporate boxes...and the rest of us they'd rather just do without.....that's what it feels like.

I have been to the JSS only a couple of times in the last few years as I am an overseas supporter. I suffered through a long queue for an overpriced cold pie and warm beer, which is pretty much my experience in sporting stadiums wherever they may be. The problem is these catering companies have a captive clientel at sporting events and they become lazy with thier customers.

That would be against the terms of the contract that KSDL signed on Town's behalf.

I can remember folk used to walk round with blankets to catch money for various charities/brass bands. We always used to aim at the carriers. Be nice to have a brass band and a pie man at half time. Can the powers that be look into this.

I'm all in favour of a return to traditional ways, that fookin pumped out music they have does my head in...you can't hear yourself think never mind speak.

I'll celebrate with a pint at half time now - even though its virtually undrinkable - at least it will be in a good cause.

If you drink the lager you might as well take a can in with you & save a small fortune. It really is dreadful - better than the bitter though.
