I'm not sure what the score is, but they are being held for extradition to the US. We'll see how corrupt they are when they are sharing a two-man cell with a big black fella. Edit: apparently it's not Blatter - shame!

Why do I feel that they are already one step ahead of the game and will have a legal exceuse for every question they are asked, ultimately leading to nothing. The whole story will be turned round by FIFA saying they have been wrongly investigated and the authorities found no evidence.

If ANY other business or corporation acted like FIFA they would have been forced to face the music a long, long time ago.

I would imagine it highly likely that one of the crooks arrested would happily drop Blatter right in it to save their own skin.

Brilliant news...great for football, fans and business. Also the EU who is always the victim of Swiss banking/trading subterfuge.

Suggesting they're opening a criminal investigation into the 2018 & 2022 bids...
Could blow the whole thing apart with a bit of luck...

The only non profit organisation, that makes a profit, but isn't accountable. The power is with FIFA instead of the game. Astonishing how corrupt FIFA blatantly is.

Don't fuck with the FBI. It really has been pathetic how badly European football has managed this - we make up most of the advertising revenue and pay almost all the players but have had zero influence over the organisation.

Blatter will be quickly distancing himself from any of the officials arrested and in his own little world humming a tune whilst sticking his fingers in his ears. As witnessed by this statement:
"Fifa director of communications Walter de Gregorio: "This is good for Fifa; it shows we are on the right track."

Course it's not Blatter - where do you think the authorities will have got the inside information from? my money's on Blatter doing a deal dropping the rest of them in it if he can go free.

I have thought for a long time now that Blatter really has no option but to stand again. If someone honest were to gain control it might not take them long to uncover what he has been up to all these years. By staying in the job until he dies he can conceal evidence. Just my own thoughts you understand. I was not coerced by Pixie in to thinking this.

He's got cancer though so might not live long enough to see the final outcome.

some will be sacrificed..
same as our own 'high profile' investigations in this country...
the most powerful in the organisations investigated get a nod early doors and then choose who below them takes the fall..

Massive shame he'll never be held accountable but at least the fucker will be dead.

AFAIK Switzerland don't extradite for tax evasion... FBI must have something else up their sleeves. Bribery probably. or money laundering or something similar.

When Blatter wins the election he can work with the FBI to find out who those nasty people are who continue to question his good name!
