So am i right in thinking its 100% to do with blocking the views of those in the boxes. I think so Andy. Tog has confirmed this was the key factor behind the personal decision he made to ban them in the meeting he called yesterday and at which he was the sole attendee.

It's what we should be doing in all parts of the ground get folk involved and submerged into the day then you have a better chance of them coming back. Hope they sort it out for NSL be a shame to loose the momentum and atmosphere that's been created. UTT

Hi all Just for a bit of clarity... I personally was made aware of this decision late last night so don't know the full picture. Our representatives on the Safety/events panel will be aware. However.... To imply it's the corporate boxes that have imposed this is wrong. In fact I can say that I have not been made aware of any single negative comment made by any of the boxes on such matters. Additionally I would say that many of the box holders (all of the holders are Town fans) encourage the flags and atmosphere - for example Mark Young of John Walton Limited is a big advocate of the efforts being made. So please don't jump to conclusions. To imply this is a sole decision made by the Club is also incorrect. My understanding is that this decision is made by the events/safety team. Which comprises of a number of organisations - including our reps whom I am sure work hard on our/your behalf. However when a decision is made wether we agree or disagree we have to adhere to it. Perhaps the reasoning behind it will prevail in due course. Possibly at the next ATT panel meeting? To date - that's all I am aware of. Now from a commercial directors point of view ;-) - gutted these aren't allowed in but.... Can I suggest bringing or better still buying a for today for the club shops - putting it on your wrist and giving it some! UTT Sean

Do you not think the club are wary of not upsetting them? Why not go back to the FML where you know flags are allowed?

UTT Sean This is what was stated in the email Sean, "the Events Panel have stated that these cannot be used in the RW or BR stands when home fans are moved from the SS, as doing so may affect the match day experience of supporters in those stands who regularly sit there"I'd like to think the 'affect' would be a positive one. You are right though, we don't know that it was a decision based on the potential concerns of the corporate box holders and it's wrong to infer that it is.

UTT Sean It's the (lack of) communication that's the problem, so folk are bound to jump to conclusions. As far as I know, there's no official announcement made. Why not? The ground regulations specifically allow for flags that meet the set criteria in ALL parts of the ground, and I personally would encourage anyone who owns flags to just do what they always do.

It's important then that you continue the dialogue with our reps on the events panel - which I understand you are doing.

Fan representation on the events panel a possibility?
We do put a lot of requests through to the panel but it would speed things up if we had a representative there to discuss issues directly.

So the club have reps on the safety panel but didn't think to communicate this decision back to the directors or the fans ?
The anonimity of the safety group is stunning, it's about time they nominated someone who could maybe inform people of what's happening...this behind closed doors stuff has gone on long enough. Who at the club is responsible for liaising with this group, from a senior position ?

I hope there is going to be an inquest into this, like who made the decision, on what information was the decision made, why wasn't anyone told until so late on ? Surely the club should be grasping this one...Dean is bemoaning falling gates and this just gets fans backs up.. Ok, it's one game - but will it be repeated for the Leeds games...and maybe others later in the season ?

Dear loyal customers,
We accept the match day experience will be poorer for this decision. Still, come on down, spend £30+ to get in and buy more memorabilia to try and enjoy yourselves. You could even tie your freshly purchased scarves around your eyes like makeshift blindfolds if you tire of hit and hope football. At least the colours will show you're a real fan.
Regards,
HTFC

Hi
Mel - I think that is an excellent idea - i would suggest emailing ann.hough@htafc.com - please feel free to cc me in on the email. I think this would certainly help with communication and feedback.
Mr X - know where you are coming from
Space Hardware - Not intended to be crass - certainly not my style!
Regards
Sean

North Stand was never particularly good atmosphere wise. We wanted to try something different..
Today wasn't a patch on the South end but with those numbers we'd have made less noise in the FML, sadly.

There are too many backward thinking old farts making decisions & clearly dictating things at this club. The forward thinking, positive younger fans who are trying to get an atmosphere going by injecting some life, passion, colour & fun into a consistently dull, boring match day experience keep getting knocked back by crap like this. There's absolutely no way many club owners with balls would allow this to happen. They'd simply say it's my club & I ain't listening or gonna be dictated to by a bunch of old farts. Instead meanwhile fans lerp disappearing in droves. Can you blame them really!

Why didn't the North Stand loyal go in the north stand today? Probably because most of it's closed due to a massive advertising hoarding that brings in millions we can spend on a top striker...
