Surely someone at Brighton saw " some potential " in the player before forking out £1.5 million .
That amount of money was maybe more than the undisclosed fee town paid for club record signing Naki Wells.
Mentioned on the Brighton forum that Manu does not seem to understand the offside rules which is about the same as around 90% of the referees and liners in the championship.
Got a feeling Wagner will develop this lad to his full potential , and Brighton will recall him back just in time for the play offs.
If Elvis does well , the only town song can be -- Can't help falling in love with you.

"Does not understand the offside rule" or "he has anticipation that's not being capitalised on due to ponderous attacking development"?? With our intent to get the opposition pulling at their shape shifting it back and forth across the back, and then exploiting gaps quickly and directly with swift passing through to the final third, then a player previously "caught offside a lot" could really flourish. This might be why Brighton fans don't see his pace also, if he's having to check his runs and hold up waiting for the ball, it's a different prospect to get up and moving compared to running onto a through ball at full pelt. We'll see I guess. From the clips he looks better and more mobile than Carayol did...I now see it simply as Manu and Bunn on the left, Matmour and Lolley as right sided options (whilst Scannell is out more or less for the season). Then central we've got Paterson and Dempsey, up front Nahki plus Bojaj and Hiwula. The two from Hogg, Whitehead and Huws. Husband and Davidson rotating left back, with Lynch, Hudson and Crainie filling two spots in the middle. Smith doing the job at right back seems the only position where we don't have one overload, but Crainie / Dempsey seem capable of filling in there, so overall, it's actually a reasonably balanced squad when we stop crying about the defender and striker waw waaaw waaaaw we neeeed then now or we're going down. There aren't "holes", we didn't need to panic sign, we just need BETTER players in a few positions to kick on, and that were playing loan players in 4 key positions means they WILL be replaced in summer, either by signing those or other players permanently, or bringing more loans in. Seems like we have a plan.

Brighton Fan here.
Just thought I would come across and see what you thought of your new Loan signing and noticed some unhelpful insight from A Brighton fan.
A bit of background about Elvis. In the summer we had several targets lined up Ben Marshall, Jamie Murphy and a couple of others from leagues outside of England. We only managed to secure Murphy in this time and Blackburn were asking for more than we were prepeared to pay. Anyway the recruitment team then pulled Elvis out of th hat and we thought we had a great young player.
For whatever reason Hughton hasnt given Elvis any real game time only 5 - 10 minutes here and there. Which isnt going to help anyone settle. I would imagine change in pace and the championship being a fairly physical league has lead Elvis to adapt so far. Elvis' chances were summed up after we had several key injuries to wide players and instead of giving Elvis a start we brought in RVLP on loan who done fairly well for us. From what I have seen of Elvis is he is a pure pace merchant and being kind, he is very 'Raw' a few others would no doubt right him off and say shit. I honestly dont know what you will get from him but her certainly had pace. Reminded very much of a younger Lua Lua. No idea what he is going to do with the ball when he gets it. Might be great but more likely to be poor.
Hopefully he does well for you guys I'm sure we will be watching closely. Final note i was fairly impressed when you came to our place the other day. Looked like you had a game plan liked to kick us up in the air but much better than you have been in previous seasons.

Sounds like we've brought him in for the same reason you did, to provide a bit of temporary cover until we brought in the player/s we actually wanted. Except we didn't blow £1.5m for the privilege.

Exactly my thoughts & there's some quality teams in that league.. Just looked at his stats from last season, 12 goals in 35, including 5 in 8 in Europe, he also got 4 assists in the Eredivisie, only one less than Mempis Depay! 'Rough diamonds' don't get regular games in teams chasing a champions league slot like Feyenoord were last season, only a poor run of form at the end of the season prevented this & they finished a respectable 4th. It's obviously not working out at Brighton, which happens, but he seems keen to make amends here.. I'm not saying he's gonna be a superstar but some fans seem to have written him off before he's even played.. Scannell injured, Lolley not where Wagner wants him to be fitness wise, I don't think he's just here to make up the numbers, Wagner wants quality attacking options, particularly with his rotation policy.

Surely someone in your club must have seen some potential in the player before forking out £1.5 million . That's unless your club has money to burn. Manu will be a different player when Wagner has developed him to his full potential , and then you will recall him ready for the play offs.
