Fair play to Clark, poor manager but still has a massive appetite for the game obviously. Good luck to him.

Wonder what annieoakley’s views are on this? Care to comment Julie? Well Spartans are my second team so he’d better be good for ‘em! I wouldn't bet, any more than you're comfortable losing, on it. Brilliant appointment for us when Clark first joined along with Terry Mac, Steve Black, even Andy Cole for a while but to be honest ever since the Millwall semifinal defeat he's gone down and down, a few years ago he would have been a worthy successor to Keegan at Newcastle, now he's arrived virtually unannounced at Blyth. Out of interest why Blyth for a 2nd team and are they still sponsored by Viz ? I adopted Kilmarnock for my Scottish / 2nd team after Town played them in a friendly, just after the 1978 World Cup Finals in Argentina.

I went to see comedian Tony Jameson performing his ‘Football Manager Ruined My Life’ tour at Canalside a few years ago. Basically the show was him telling how he started off managing Villa but was crap at it and ended up way down the football pyramid with Blyth Spartans. After the show my pal and I thought we’d go watch Spartans next time they played locally - our first match was on a Tuesday night at Ramsbottom 😂. Been to Croft Park a few times when Town don’t have a game and a few away grounds in non-league world too.

I remember Blyth Spartans from a great cup run in the 70s. Loved their green kits.

I'd say he's finally found his level but I'm not even convinced he'll achieve much there.

I remember Blyth Spartans from a great cup run in the 70s. Loved their green kits. 1977/78 the year Ipswich beat Arsenal in the final and a Town lost 0-1 at Oakwell in the First Round, non league Blyth drew away at Wrexham, who would finish as 3rd Div Champions, in round 5, the replay was at St. James's Park to accommodate a capacity crowd, Spartans lost 2-1 but were denied a goal from a corner as the corner flag was pushed over by the taker with hordes of youngsters stood nearby. In the next round Wrexham lost out at home to Arsenal, Ipswich hammered Millwall away and the evening news was full of horror stories as Millwall fans attacked the Ipswich fans.

Doesn't matter where he goes, if you fall out with fans/players and baffle them with weird tactics and subs, you're going to fail.
As low as this level is I am baffled to how he keeps getting jobs with his record, he is not some hidden gem that's been unlucky, he's a crap manager

No doubt he'll be bragging about getting Town promoted. There'll be no mention of how much money he had to spend or the fact he didn't get them promoted.

I'd say he's finally found his level but I'm not even convinced he'll achieve much there. I follow a lot of non-league football from 6th tier and below. It is littered with failed managers who were good/great players but who only exhibit frustration that their new protégées are incapable of carrying out what the ‘legend’ thinks are basic footballing skills.

He spunked a lot of money up the wall in league one terms and failed to get promoted. He would shout and his arms around like a fucking lunatic and no-one would listen on the pitch. I'd say he's found his level but I think he'll struggle

Yep. I wouldn't have said it otherwise. I don't recall him ever saying he got us promoted. I remember him saying he would have got us promoted, an entirely different thing. Whether he would or not that season is something we will never know for sure, we can guess of course.

I think saying "I took Huddersfield from nothing to the Championship" (Examiner May 23rd 2016) is claiming to have got us promoted.
