Not the best of games, but the result is fantastic! If we can build up early points, the far end of the season will be a lot more relaxing. Once said in the post match interview, something about DW saying it didn't matter if it was messy, we just wanted to give the fans the win! I love it when a plan comes into place. Some good performances there from Lowe, Schindler, Lossl, Ince and of course Mooy! So grounded and Henry said it was so nice to see him almost embarrassed to be MOTM. "He does his talking on the pitch". Mounie worked hard, but looked to tire towards the end. Still not sure why Depoittre wasn't on the bench. Hope all is well and it was just tactical selection. Big Col didn't really get a chance to get into the game, where Williams may have made a difference. The Heff won a. Purple of good headers to break up attacks in his brief time. All very minor as criticism goes, because once again, DW and the boys have done us proud! At least 5 teams we now have a six point gap on as it stands.

Another nice stat too....
Huddersfield are only the third promoted side to win their opening two fixtures of a Premier League season

Definitely not the best game against a poor team who sat back and dug in, obviously hoping to catch us on a break like last season. 6 points from 2 games, fantastic but we are going to have to improve quickly. Other teams with more experience in this league would have tore us a new one this afternoon. Mooy and Schindler, outstanding today.

We played into Newcastle`s hands last season at home. Got caught on the break. Wagner a quick learner. 3 points. Wasn`t pretty at times. Come May could prove to be very valuable points.

I get the feeling that against better sides we will get punished during them spells of nervy, ponderous possession that marred the 1st half. But so many positives: the move and shot for Mooy's tidy goal, Loewe's inch perfect last ditch tackle, and the godlike Schindler on the ascendant. It is a fucking great time to be a Town fan! You can't play flat out all the time and I think those ponderous possession periods with Mooy dictating tempo are important to catch the the breath and get your shape back together. We do that pretty well. It will be interesting to see how we do it against the better teams. At this stage I'd see it as a positive not a negative.

Carragher nailed it with Mooys goal...COMPOSURE. He gets the ball away quickly and efficiently..always looks for it back...sublime at the reverse pass...always want to curl the ball in. Love the guy and so unassuming when interviewed at the end.

Schindler was class absolutely fucking brilliant. reminds me a little of John Terry, Rio Ferdinand in that he doesnt appear to do much until there is danger - then he snuffs it out

Lossl made another top top save I wasn't a Danny Ward knocker but Lossl exudes a confidence i never felt with Danny. Very impressed with our keeper.

Beginning to wonder if we have yet to see our best forward line of attack
How would a Mounie/Depoitre strike force work ,and surely wont be long before it is tried and tested by Wagner
The team seem to be spoilt for choice for players at the moment as nobody in our squad looks out of place in the Premier league
Dream times made possible by top quality signings

He is looks a very good goalie and exudes calm and confidence. He had one or two slightly dodgy back passes to deal with today, but he just dealt with them in that calm and efficient manner he seems to do everything. His distribution is good and we all know he is able to produce top quality saves. A very good signing.

As you would expect, there are a range of mixed comments on the NUFC forum on their match thread, but there are one or two comments that are a bit more appreciative of Town. www.toonforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8985There's a ton of negativity aimed at their own team though!! Some of the more polite stuff: "When was the last time all 3 promoted teams went back down? Somebody will stay up and Wagner had Huddersfield hard to beat, well organised and most importantly his transfer dealings always seem to improve the team. They won't go down I reckon." "Wow... Huddersfield are a much better team than us..." "Wow, I kinda expected it, I really rate Wagner as a manager and I honestly don't think they will be in the bottom three" "We're defo not playing relegation fodder. Huddersfield are living the dream." "I can see Huddersfield doing what Reading did when they came up with Coppell a fair few seasons back. They played every game like an FA Cup." "And huddersfield look to be 6 points ahead of us already, not conceded a goal, only had 7 shots on target which has resulted in 4 goals for them. As somebody said, they're living the dream so far" "Huddersfields pressure won that game - our pressure was non existent."

I don't think we'll see two up front unless we're chasing a game. Wagner prefers to play one striker with support from midfield. Agree with your last paragraph. We have good options all over the pitch, and quality on the bench.

Good game from Billing. Very disciplined position wise. Fantastic last 25. Yeah, almost as soon as I posted to take him off he started to show why he was on the pitch. Guess there's a good reason I'm posting here instead of managing!

A lot of wasted money on expensive players that could not be gelled into a premier league team Wagner has spent wisely on hard working players who give all especially as team players

No Depoitre on bench today? injured or just a tactical move?

From a neutral who watched the game on TV thought you were very comfortable and aside from the Ritchie shot mid first half which was well tipped around the post had little to worry about.
Saw all the Geordie hoardes in the Coach Escort heading back to the North East and if I'd been on there would have been severely disappointed in a seeming lack of effort from my team. Not to take anything away from Town but thought they showed very little and on what I saw look like filling one of the bottom 3 slots.

I can see situations where he would have both Mounie and Depoitre, or Mounie and Wells on the pitch towards the ends of some games, but I can't see them starting any time soon.

According to my mate a shambles getting in to the ground with a lot of the bar code readers having problems. He nearly missed the kick off. The bar code readers were in meltdown because of all those black and white stripes milling about.

No Depoitre on bench today? injured or just a tactical move? He didn't seem too keen on doing the half time interview, couldn't wait to get away Very strange to not have him on the bench if he wasn't injured given we didn't have another striker on there (Quaner clearly a winger now)
