A Spurs mate texted me: "Sir Harold Kane will be licking his lips playing against the mighty Hudds!"
My reply: "Indeed, just as Benteke (Palace) Gayle (Newc) Austin (Soton) Carroll (WHU) Vardy (Leicester) and Wood (Burnley) were all licking their lips. Sum total: 1 penalty!"

The JSS is a tough place to come & get a result for any team. No way are we going to roll over & gift them 3 points without a battle. Spurs are abit hit & miss so far, the champions league game midweek could help us too. We'll need to be right on it to get anything but it's not impossible. The stadium will be rocking!

Really looking to this one. Seeing current England internationals live has been a rarity for me.

Cant wait for this one, one of the standout fixtures for me. Anything can happen. Of course my head says easy Spurs win, my heart says just go for it. We cant play to draw or minimise goals against. Go all out. Nothing to lose, play as normal, you never know.

Spurs need to take maximum points v. Nicosia to have any chance of last 16, day off Wed, train Thurs, travel Friday! It's on Sky for a reason, they want an upset...lets make it happen Town.

We are the last game in a run of 7 where Spurs have played every 3-4 days. That has to help us in terms of fitness.

Really looking to this one. Seeing current England internationals live has been a rarity for me. Personally i'd respect them a lot more if they played like internationals. Put an England shirt on Harry Kane and he plays like a twat. 2 goals against Malta doesn't make him international class.

I would never ever accept a defeat beforehand. Even against Real Madrid. Can't make the Spurs game - even at nearly 60 years old I have to go to school that morning - I knew I should have retired. Tickets already sold on Terrier Exchange. Hopefully going to see them play against Real Madrid in October before returning for the Manchester game.

Never wish for players to get injured but I'd be happy for Kane and Eriksson to pick up a niggle in the champions league game, they can come back raring to go the week after playing tuesday in foreign land. Game at 12:30 couldnt be better for us.

Let's just play our game and see what happens. It's a shame Williams isn't fit because his mobility along with Hogg would have been great but I'd play the same team as Saturday unless Mounie is fit then I'd be tempted to swap him and depoitre. What is key though is the supporting 3 get closer to the striker. Last few games the gap has been too big which makes it harder for the front man. We can totally win this game. It's not impossible.

I think I'd still opt for him, but my concern with Hogg in this game is Tottenham's impressive pressing and how slow he can be in gaining his bearings in possession. It slows us down and/or allows the opposition to target Mooy in some games, but here he could get us trouble.

Never seen Town play Spurs and this is truly the moment when we know we are in the Premier League. Opposition so far has been against teams we've come up against in recent years in other divisions. MASSIVE game - hugely exciting ! Haven't been in same division as WHam for a year or two!

What's the obsession with playing Malone on the left wing? Has anyone ever seen him play there or are we going off the throwaway comment by the commentator in the West Ham match?
I don't see how it would work with the interchanging positions in the 3 behind the striker, unless we are looking to park the bus.

Stick a fiver on Huddersfield or Draw, instead of buying a half time pie, the end result will be the same. Disappointment. This season we play Man U, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. Twice each. We will not lose all 12 of those games.

I don't see how it would work with the interchanging positions in the 3 behind the striker, unless we are looking to park the bus. Precisely. Starting Flo and Malone in midfield ahead of Smith and Lowe (like some have called for) effectively sets us up as a 6-2-1-1 with no unity in atack. Now if we're aiming to park the bus then fair enough but that's asking for a long afternoon and I doubt we'll do that at home. VLP is a starter for me. We need an outlet and someone who can gain us yards. I also think we look stronger defensively with Lowe & VLP as opossed to Lowe and Ince/Kachunga.

mooy and hogg will have all on to muffle erickson and deli alli, so as well as them, play both billing and sabiri to give us some more structure and fluidity in the attacking third and drop kachunga. Full backs can provide the width if we get that far up the pitch.

Looking forward to seeing Ericsson, him, Hazard and Sanchez are the only opposition players I'd like to see after playing City last season. My hope for the game is we kick the absolute fuck out of Kane and Alli, could only dislike them more if they played for the bin dippers.

If I had a second team it would probably be Spurs. Only disappointment about being promoted is not going to WHL; it's the nearest ground to me. Hope we get them away first game next season. If you look at tbwah's avatar you can see that they are really dyslexic Town fans.
Odd that the top three London teams all play three at the back. I'd go with a novel line-up:
Lössl Hadergjonaj—Zanka—Schindler—Malone Hogg Mooy—Billing Ince—Depoitre—Sabiri/VLP/Kachunga
Going for pace at full-back and an extra midfielder to try an combat Eriksen, might even go with man-to-man on him. My template is the Palace cup game where Hadergjonaj and Malone were out on the touch line. In the first half they were wider than the players in front of them.
Final thing I really hope MP doesn't play Son.
