I think we also have to hope that Spurs turn up massively overconfident, expecting us to just lie down and die.

I find it irratating that I can't read comments on the Spurs equivalent of DATM. While I can understand that I should register there to place a comment, I find the insular attitude of "Come on you Spurs" somewhat worrying.

Haven't we come to realise that putting Mooy in at 10 wastes a lot of his effectiveness? It is a shame for Billing that he is not slotting straight in and I think he gives more to our game attack wise than Hogg, but if Hogg is fit he must surely play against Spurs with Mooy in his normal position. I think VLP must play also - we need his pace as an outlet and threat - think he and Kachunga have been quite effective - just playing at a higher level. As well as he has done think Sabiri is the one to rest this week. Wagner definitely prefers him as a number 8 who can dictate games but he plays there very effectively for Australia and we've never faced a team of Spurs' quality with Mooy in the side. The games he has played the 10 role have been games we dominated the ball and teams sat back against us. Having him dictating our play from a more advanced position against teams that are going to dominate us could be worth trying. I trust Wagner will pick the right team for the job, he's got analysts who will be fully clued up on Spurs and will help him come up with a plan to stop them. Problem is when he tried putting Mooy at 10 v Ipswich last year Mooy rarely got the ball so couldn't do any dictating, and he wasn't very good with his back to the goal. I'd honestly rather see Billing play there than waste Mooy at 10. I'm sure DW will be 100% aware of the strengths and weakness of Spurs. I'm slightly hoping that they have overlooked a few of ours! This game will set the marker for the rest of the season now. If we are competitive v Spurs - then wow!

I'd go for the same as what Chelsea did with the 4-2-3-1 that falls back into a 4-3-2-1 when they are attacking to shut down the space. Pity Williams is injured he'd be a third line of defensive support for the back line after them and Hogg. Can see Hogg getting sent off if he's not careful in this game.
Lossl
Flo Zanka Schindler Lowe
Hogg Mooy
Malone (Over here) -------
Ince Sabri
Depoitre
Green, Smith, Kachunga, Mounie, VLP, Hefele

I find it irratating that I can't read comments on the Spurs equivalent of DATM. While I can understand that I should register there to place a comment, I find the insular attitude of "Come on you Spurs" somewhat worrying. Me too. I like to have a nose at other teams forums before we play them so I tried to sign up for an account. It was pretty straight forward at first; create user name, enter e-mail address and answer a simple question. Then I received the following e-mail (my answers are under the questions); To activate your account please respond to the following questions: (1) How old are you? 142 (2) How long have you been a Spurs fan? I am not. I support Huddersfield Town. (3) What is your favourite Spurs memory? When you were relegated in 1977. (4) Where did you hear about COYS (please be specific)? I was on the Down at the Mac forum, this is a site for Huddersfield Town fans where we can discuss the team and also other issues. There are supporters of other clubs that also can post. Anyway I scrolled to the top of the site and I noticed a pull down box with the title 'Click Here For Other Message Boards'. When I clicked on a team in the list I was taken to their site. I then thought "What if I select Tottenham?" I did and then found your site. (5) Have you previously applied for a COYS account? No. This is my first and last attempt. I might try to get in to Fort Knox next. This was a few days ago and I have not received a reply so I don't think I have got in.

keep it simple, we defend the whole match and we will get beat, No question. Play our best to win as we know how, and we will also lose, But while we are getting beat, analyze how we let their goals in and learn how to avoid them again. This Season is to stay up, We only have to win enough points not them all, If at the end of the Season. we go down, As long as we go down in a Blaze, and not a glimmer, I will be proud, I know we won't go down So enjoy the ride

They probably have a load of anti-Semitic trolling on there, maybe that's why they're more guarded... Just wish their team was as nervous about facing us. I'd say if we can keep it respectable scoreline-wise it'll be a qualified success. Never say never, I'd love it if we beat them or even got a point- just can't see it happening. The likes of Spurs and the (real, blue) Mancs are a class apart.

I know everyone's talking doom and gloom about this game and it's a matter of keeping the score down to a reasonable level but surely a home win bet of 8/1 is worth a little flutter.
I was very surprised at those offered odds and I get that bookies don't give anything away but...

I'd play mooy at 10 billing & Hogg behind him I can see us getting a draw - come on them terriers Why would anyone play Mooy anywhere but his best position? Every time he has played further forward he has had nowhere near his usual influence, plus he is a bit slow. Ince VLP and Kachunga have to be the 3 behnd the striker IMO

Counsellor Deanna Troi is from Tottenham. -was good friends with someone who was in our quiz team when we lived down there.
