What's everyone's thoughts? Thought I'd take the negative of VLP's U boat show piece away and concentrate on our real first home "premier league test" in front of the footballing worlds eyes. got a lot of Spurs fans as "friends" so really looking forward to this one. I'm going 2-1 town. VLP first scorer! Same team as the one that started at Burnley if injuries remain the same. Maybe swap billing and hogg round.
P.S anyone got a spare ticket in the south stand! Long shot but you don't ask you don't get. Terrier exchange looking doubtful.

There are half a dozen teams in this league who can take anybody apart on their day. Spurs are one of them. Hope on Saturday night we hear the usual.."And our final game tonight would have been Tottenham. Unfortunately, Spurs had an off-day today, really poor game to watch. So that's it for tonight, don't forget to tune in tomorrow night for MOTD 2. Goodnight and thanks for watching. Oh...Huddersfield are up to fourth.."

Tough one with regards the team, Tottenham are a quick team, so Id be tempted to play both Hodajonaj and Malone.... But not sure what they are like defensively, so its a massive call to replace louwe and smith.
Id go
Lossl Flo Zanka Schindler Louwe Mooy Hogg Kachunga Sabiri Ince Mounie

I'm sure that Wagner will have a plan, but realistically can't see us getting anything but a defeat, just hope it's not too big a hiding.

I'm sure that Wagner will have a plan, but realistically can't see us getting anything but a defeat, just hope it's not too big a hiding. This. I'd take a 'run of the mill' win for Spurs, 1-0 or 2-0. They're one of the teams in this league that are capable of hitting us for 5 or 6, just hope it doesn't happen. Mind you, play at our maximum and I reckon we would steal something, as unlikely as it appears

I hope we go out and take the game to Spurs in the style we did against Leicester and Southampton, it will probably not work and we may get a tonking - but I'd sooner see this approach against the big boys than trying to defend from the first whistle.
I can accept the defending approach if our first game against the big 6 using our normal one fails spectacularly, but our style at home is to press relentlessly and take the game to the opposition, we have changed the approach away from home which is definitely getting results but at home I hope we don't change our tactics.

I'm not sure we will approach this game very much different to the ones before.
We need to concentrate on our game first which includes keeping the ball.
Spurs complacency thinking this is an easier win for them might just help us get a point at least.
Looking forward to the game as it is a true test of how far we have come.

Stick a fiver on Huddersfield or Draw, instead of buying a half time pie, the end result will be the same.
Disappointment.

Never seen Town play Spurs and this is truly the moment when we know we are in the Premier League. Opposition so far has been against teams we've come up against in recent years in other divisions. MASSIVE game - hugely exciting !

I do enjoy watching these before we play... Could be a clash of styles this one, Will we play in the way one of the teams that upset us last year did? Or will we go toe to toe.

This falls into the, as long as we give it a go the result is irrelevant, category of games. All I want to see us our players making it as hard as possible for Spurs to do what they do best.
If we're going to get any chances in this game at all then we need to attack with pace and take every counter attacking opportunity. Our usual passing game has to go out of the window in games like this to try and go front to back as quickly as possible. If we play a possession game they will happily sit in and watch us struggle to create any opportunities. This definitely doesn't mean I want us to play long ball, far from it, I just think we need to move the ball forward quicker and be more direct. My team for this...
Lossl Smith, Schindler, Zanka, Lowe
Hogg, Mooy
Ince, Sabiri, Malone
Depoitre
Subs: Green Hefele Flo Billing Van La Parra Kachunga Mounie

Arguably the toughest opponents we will face outside of Manchester clubs this season. Aim to frustrate and hope for a slice of luck. Not expecting anything but as long as we give a good account of ourselves and don't give them too much repect I won't be too hard on our players. Maybe seeing Deli Ali looking a bit of a cock after an air shot or something to brighten up the afternoon.

Looking forward to this game immensely, although I think we will be lucky to get a point. Every time I have watched Spurs this season Kane has hit the post with a thunder bolt. lets get some more paint on the sticks and hope it stays that way.

We are quite good away from home at the moment. Indeed, we have won our last 5 in a row by 21-4 so i don't think complacency will be an issue.
We will play 3 at the back - Alderweireld/Sanchez/Vertonghen - & two wing backs, probably Trippier & Davies (Rose injured, Aurier suspended). It appears we could be without Demblele (BIG loss) & Wanyama (both injured) so will probably see Dier & Sissoko in the midfield pairing with a front three of Kane, Eriksen & Alli. Bench will be fairly mixed, Vorm, Foyth, Son, Winks, llorente & Kyle Walker-Peters & an academy player. Too soon for Lamela to make the bench i think.
If Dembele &/or Wanyama are available it will be a big bonus.

Never wish for players to get injured but I'd be happy for Kane and Eriksson to pick up a niggle in the champions league game, they can come back raring to go the week after

Spurs will be a big task on Saturday against us. But I'm hoping Pochettino puts out his strongest side on Tuesday night v Nicosia, and that they're then made to work harder for a result against the Cypriots than they anticipate. Even if that were the case, he'd still be able to take a decent team to Hudds. But you never know, if we can contain them for an hour, then they may tire and be there for the taking with our super fitness. Bottom line is though that anything from this game would be a real bonus.

However, there is scope to play Malone or Flo further forward against Spurs.

I'm glad DW isn't preparing for an arseholing like some on here are...
Sounds like some folk will just be happy to keep it down to 3 goals & have a shot on target...
It's 11 v 11...
The only 2 sides I would be genuinely concerned about & pulling up the drawbridge would be the 2 Manchester clubs. Man C are unstoppable just now, some of the slickest football I've seen in yrs...
So tough game, but one that we can still get something out of...

I wonder which game Spurs will see as the most difficult - Nicosia or Town ? Having said that they have enough quality to select two separate 11s good enough to win both.

Can't wait for this, these are the games you really look forward to, going to be tough but we've been underdogs for the last 12 months and pulled off a few surprises, whatever happens it should be a great occasion. UTT

This is the game when the players get the chance to show all the pundits how competitive we can be. I think it'll be similar to Leicester at home, we'll batter them first half and they'll come into it strongly towards end. We have to take our chances while we're on top and then see it out. Easy

What's the point accepting a loss? Are you Chris Powell?
