Lossl Smith Schindler Zanka Malone Hogg Mooy Kachunga Sabiri Ince Depoitre
Green Flo Hefele Lowe Billing VLP Mounie
Don't think Spurs is the game to bring Flo in for Smith, and we need Kachunga's work rate tracking back as they'll probably have 70% of the ball. As to who partners Mooy, it's a toss up between Hogg and Billing, although Hogg probably gets the nod here. Depoitre deserves to keep his spot, he looks more of a threat for opposing centre halves than Mounie has done, opening day aside.
Come on Town!

Tough one with regards the team, Tottenham are a quick team, so Id be tempted to play both Hodajonaj and Malone.... But not sure what they are like defensively, so its a massive call to replace louwe and smith. Id go Lossl Flo Zanka Schindler Louwe Mooy Hogg Kachunga Sabiri Ince Mounie If DW thinks they are better defenders than Smith and Loewe he will have them in. Don't know if Flo and Malone are quicker than Smith and Loewe. Its defensive organisation that will win the day - not speedy full backs. Having said that VLP is quicker than all of the Spurs players so I'd have him in to frighten their right wingback and not let them take any liberties. I had hoped that Spurs would have to field a strong team tonight but it doesn't look like it. Alli and Vertonghan are suspended so get a rest. Erikkson is ill so he gets a rest as well. Lets hope Harry gets a a slight knock! Hands up if you have seen Kane play against Town before. I saw him turn out for Leicester against us and for another team - Brighton maybe. He was poor - but I guess he has come on a bit since then! Lossl Smith Zanka Schindler Louwe Mooy Hogg Kachunga Ince VLP Mounie

I've not really seen any evidence of that. If Flo and Malone had been in the same positions as Smith and Loewe at West Ham (that is with no cover in front of them and big open space behind them) then they too would have been easily beaten by Antonio. At Forest a couple of years ago Smtih blotted Antonio out of the game for 45 minutes, but he had Scanz sitting in front to put a squeeze on him. No denying pace in full backs is important - but not much use if the organisation around the full back is weak and they are exposed one on one.

What's the obsession with playing Malone on the left wing? Has anyone ever seen him play there or are we going off the throwaway comment by the commentator in the West Ham match? I don't see how it would work with the interchanging positions in the 3 behind the striker, unless we are looking to park the bus. Agree on the point about interchanging, but I think that fluid style of attacking only works when you dominate games. We're not going to dominate Spurs so it's less of an issue. It's likely that for the majority of the game we will need to be disciplined and keep our shape so our front 3 won't be interchanging as much. I put Malone on the left in my team because VLP and Kachunga have been largely ineffective in our games so far. Based on our lack of options out wide and the brief appearance against West Ham I think Malone could be a good option in a game we're going to need to be more direct than usual. As I said before, by direct I do not mean long ball, I mean countering quickly. The other option I think Wagner might consider is to play Mooy in the 10 role with Ince on one side and Sabiri on the other. Billing would then slot in next to Hogg.

Haven't we come to realise that putting Mooy in at 10 wastes a lot of his effectiveness? It is a shame for Billing that he is not slotting straight in and I think he gives more to our game attack wise than Hogg, but if Hogg is fit he must surely play against Spurs with Mooy in his normal position. I think VLP must play also - we need his pace as an outlet and threat - think he and Kachunga have been quite effective - just playing at a higher level. As well as he has done think Sabiri is the one to rest this week.

Wagner definitely prefers him as a number 8 who can dictate games but he plays there very effectively for Australia and we've never faced a team of Spurs' quality with Mooy in the side. The games he has played the 10 role have been games we dominated the ball and teams sat back against us. Having him dictating our play from a more advanced position against teams that are going to dominate us could be worth trying. I trust Wagner will pick the right team for the job, he's got analysts who will be fully clued up on Spurs and will help him come up with a plan to stop them.

He looked poor in the recent Aus games playing at 10 as he had little time on the ball. In 1 (v Germany?) He was switched to 8 at half time and looked far better after. It is very hard to dictate play with defensive mids snapping at your heels.

Looks like they are saving their top players for the most difficult game? Injuries and suspensions rule out Dele Alli, Erikson, Vertonghen and some other no mark player. And Trippier will play RB against us due to Aurier's suspension having been sent off on Sunday.

Probably best not to rush Eriksen back on Saturday. Might be four Danes on the pitch; a PL record?

Anybody want to see Kane get a tweak tonight? It's a tricky one for me. After much deliberation, I'm going no, as I want to see him nullified by Schindler.

I doubt very much if Wagner will alter a back four which has conceded 3 goals in the premier league this season. Lowe seems to be the latest hovering under the guillotine. Grief probably the best Town full back since Ramon Wilson.

I really hope the posters who dissect any mistake made by certain players at Town appreciate the quality of this Spurs team. They didn't play well last night but won 3-0, away, in the Champions League. Granted the opposition are not the greatest European team but still a Champions League club. On their day Spurs can take anyone apart, an off day and there is a glimmer of a chance of maybe getting something out of the game. Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in Europe. The guy is just so clinical. I thought his 2014-15 season may have been a one off but each season he has scored more League goals (21, 25 then 29). What a test for Schindler/Zanka. This game could really put Schindler on the radar. I have always believed the 'big' games for us are the games where we should pick up points, the games against top 6 are a free hit. Well it is a free hit but sometimes even the free hits get smashed out of the park. Cant wait.
