I like this post. I agree we need to go positive. 3-5-2 is the way forward. We don't have the players to play 4-2-3-1 as this leaves our midfield overrun. It might not be coincedence mooys game has dropped off lately as teams are becoming aware of our tactics and overload the middle of the park. we have 2 strikers, so lets use em. Pick a side to get us all back on the same side. If it ain't good enough then at least lets give it a go. At the moment we're just going through the motions like boro did. Never understand this idea that 4-2-3-1 leaves our midfield overrun. We have 3 in midfield same as most teams. We overran most midfields last season with 4-2-3-1. 3-5-2 is different but I can see little point in playing Mounie and Depoitre upfront together. We will just cut down their already meagre supply.Agree, it would be better to play an additional attacking midfielder and no striker 4-6-0 but you need extremely high calibre individuals to make this work.

People forget that Mounie and LDP are actually very different. No,not just one is an idle sod but LDP holds up play whereas Mounie plays off the other forward players.I believe it would work but only if Mounie stops his sulk.

A desperate last attempt to stay in the league. Like I say, I don't want him to go, but I have a feeling if we keep losing then the pressure will really build on DW and I don't think he'd be safe. I can't see it happening. I'm sure DH announced, that he told DW his job was safe even if we went straight back down . There are two people that can decide if DW stays or goes. One is DH, the other is DW himself.

I know this sounds absurd but I think Wagner would excel at a bigger club and with better players.
He is a great manager, he has turned average championship players into premier league players and that is amazing, he isn't however a miracle worker and I think now he has hit a brick wall.
His training methods are revolutionary and the style he wants to employ would suit a team like arsenal. Unfortunately we just aren't good enough to play the way he wants in this league.

Cue the abuse but right now we need a Warnock ! His ability to galvanise players is unquestionable. Wagner doesn't strike me as an up and at em coach. They need a bit of home truth and fire right now.

If we make it this season he could continue to improve us to that level.

Mooy works his arse off and is at the moment ineffectual because he has been overplayed. If we got our better players back firing on all cylinders we have a chance but we must relieve the burden somehow.

De Bruyne has played every Premier League game this season and a lot of Cup, European and international games and looks as fresh as a daisy especially in the first half of games. He always looks knackered towards the end though.

Absolute nonsense Wagner isnt out of is depth but most certainly the majority of our players are, thats the problem bottom line, not tactics or formation

To play a high back four was nothing more than a disaster waiting to happen , so what on earth was Wagner thinking
Stoke had to time their runs to perfection yes , then on many occasion would find themselves in round the back with plenty of green grass ahead .
Very naive game plan from Wagner , and these tactics went a long way to actually beating ourselves .
Towns defence is abysmal to say the least , but it seems opposition managers have now got Wagner's style of play totally worked out
Surely its back to basics by trying to put a workable game plan together which would be able to execute with the quality of towns players.
We don't seem to have a player who can cross a ball or more than one who can actually f--king shoot on target
This is suppose to be a premier league team , but clubs at this level need premier league quality players to either survive or progress at this level

Players aren’t just similar because of their height. LD runs the channels, drops into a 10 role and is willing to contribute to all round game play. He gets involved but very deep on the field, not up top. Fans tend to like this type of player. Boothy springs to mind. Even Alan Lee got more leniency because he put it about a bit. SM is a poacher. Runs little but pretty clinical if given half a chance. Plays on the last man and doesn’t contribute down the wings. Fans often get frustrated with this limited, but sometimes worthwhile, approach. Rhodes gets it now at Sheff Weds. Theo Robinson got it. Wells got it too a bit. Problem with SM is that his body language makes it even worse, he really looks as though he gives up if the chances are not forthcoming. Both kinds of strikers suit different games and different tactics. Unfortunately for us we aren’t creating anything for either type of striker! I’m still unhappy that we rotated our Depoitre when he was om form and scoring in consecutive games. I understand resting certain players but when a guy is scoring then you really should play him.

He's out of Mooys league as a footballer and as an athelete. Stupid comparison. We are stuggling big time, if we persist much longer with the current formation for me we get relegated. Got to change something. I'd get Hef in the back line, at least he'd give us some guts, but i'd try 2 up front. We've only tried it once games are over. Why not try from the start and see if it can help

Why bring him in an then not play him. We are so poor in defence at the moment id play williams at RB, Schind and Hef at CH and Kongolo at LB. Id also like to know why we brought in Rob Green. He doesnt even get on the bench. Although lossl has been one of he brighter sparks this season i think Greens experience could help out no end. Its the one thing we dont have is experience......

Of course - but I would only have one of them in the team - not both at the same and to a large extent - they both follow the pattern that DW sets them. At the end of the day Depoitre (who I like very much in case of doubt) has played 3 times as many games as Mounie - but only scored one more goal. It's our team that is not functioning, not our front men.

Also its not just that we've lost, but the manner of the defeats. We need 3 pts from somewhere but not sure where. Anywhere. and the sooner the better

Will you be trying Heff up front in your twosome, otherwise I wouldn't mind him getting a game.

As we've only got two strikers that decision would be made, but DW keeps playing Mounie rather than LDP, so he must rate him to some degree.
