We were linked with Kingsley Schindler from Holstein Kiel in Bundesliga 2 back in January. Very similar player to Ryan Sessegnon (though obviously not as special) in that he's a versatile wing back, able to do jobs at both ends of the pitch. 12 goals in the 2nd tier, plays on the right.
Wouldn't at all be surprised if we went back for him.
------
Looking around the other European lower leagues, particularly France..
Umut Bozok plays for Nimes, top scorer in Ligue 2 this season with 24 goals and they bought him for 150k. Only 21, scored almost 60 goals in 101 games. We could probably get him for cheap and he'd be an option outside of Mounié and LDP if required.

I wouldn't be a massive fan of signing players from relegated sides but I do think Joe Allen would be a good signing. My thought exactly. Proper grafter is Allen so would fit in with us perfectly. Can also cross the ball pretty well too.

Heard a mention we are looking at Kelvin Phillips @ Leeds. Hope not, he’s not even good enough for them, and that’s saying something!

We definitely need two pacy wingers and another midfielder
Redmond & another winger. Joe Allen Sign up Kongolo on a permanent.
More unrealistic I know but I’d love to get shelvey.

Would have to look at the relegated clubs/Championship clubs I reckon. No doubt we’ll look in Europe for better money’s worth too, but my knowledge isn’t that good to make suggestions!
Here’s who I’d look at from the relegated clubs/Championship though:
Stoke: Eric Pieters (if we don’t sign Kongolo)? Joe Allen (fits our style perfectly) Shaqiri (wages too high most probably and can see him linking back up with Hughes at Saints again anyway) - would take him given the opportunity though!
West Brom: Matt Phillips (wide areas need improving and he’d be a good signing I think, Wagner could improve him I reckon) Salomon Rondon (if one of Mounie or LDP were to leave for any reason) Chris Burke (always rated him in the Champ, but done so little recently, could Wagner finally get the best out of him? Still only young)
Championship:
James Maddison - probs a load of clubs looking at him now and expensive at at least 12-15m...only young and potential resale value though. Foristieri - Surely not?? Too similar in style and stature to Pritchard? As much as I hated him he’s still top quality. Tom Cairney - Only if Fulham don’t go up obviously. Very good attacking midfielder who could make the step up IMO. George Friend - Boro’s best defender arguably (left back) Mateja Vrydra - Always liked him. Could play number 10 or number 9, Championship top scorer this season. Conor Hourihane - dependant on Villa not going up. Good midfielder and set piece taker, another who could make the step up.
Probs not the cheapest of options but worth a shot!?

Danny Drinkwater doesn't seem to be getting much playing time.
Aron Gunnarsson out of contract at Cardiff.

I've read a lot of quotes about the money we get for staying in the prem. Saying we get £100m sounds misleading as that will include parachute payments. For staying up we are more likely £40m better off than we were if we would have got relegated as the £100m we got for getting to the prem includes some of the same money.

I think you have misread, it’s £100 million for staying in the prem. But would have only been £40 million in our first year of parachute payments, had we gone down.

Finishing 16th will be worth 108M in prize money. plus any extra tv money if we appeared more than 12 times on tv in a season. at 1.25m a time. Then we also open up the 3rd year parachute payments of 20m. Commercial rights, sponsorship deals, shirt sales etc. min 10m but id say thats impossible to actually put a figure on without the accounts. conservatively its worth 138M and another year finishing 16th would bring in another 118M. interestingly each place higher in the divison is worth 2-3M at least so alot to play for on sunday.

One thing for sure, most of our players are millionaires now...or near enough. £20k pw is over a £1m pa gross, Mooy on £33kpw, Pritchard reported as £55kpw (!!)..plus as DH said, a bonus pool of about £10m to be distributed for staying up.
My main concern is Wagner though...he had his annual meeting with DH in March, where they assess the squad etc and it was said a lot depends what league we are in net season. Well now we know so will an announcement of some sort be made , will DW be given a contract extension beyond next season ?
Would be great to know he's pledging the next 3 years to us so we can plan and build for next season and beyond.

Sponsorship will hit another level now IMO, we didn’t have time to properly sell ourselves last year, this year we’ve had time to build contacts and also will be a far more attractive proposition.

Personally I think we've got 2 decent strikers, we're crying out for somebody to provide them with the ammunition, 28 goals is not enough. No idea how much we can spend but it's got to be quality over quantity, hopefully DW will bring in some real creativity.

Hope I'm wrong, but I think you're right. DW has gone on record as saying the wage bill won't be "overly exaggerated", so we're almost certain to still have the lowest wage bill again, as there won't be a massive increase in the present one. We've shown how the significance of this can be limited, but even if we doubled the wage bill, we'd only be about where Brighton are now (this season - as the second lowest wage bill in the league).

I expect us to have another 50-60M transfer kitty but the wage structure will remain, which is going to be the biggest challenge.
It’s the wages that cripple clubs, I don’t expect us to change stance in signing players that don’t fit the model that has been so successful for us. I wouldn’t mind Clucas as I think he would be a good fit, but would depend what wages he’d want.
The only other i’d look at from relegated sides would be Oliver Burke, Wagner wanted him before and I think he could turn him into a special player for us, just needs a decent manager.

Gudmundsson at Burnley. Hard working, technically sound, and the boy can cross. One can dream. He's now signed a new three year deal with us!

Well neither did Pritchard when he was there and he has turned out to be a good signing for us He just needs a good manager to get him playing like he was for Forest
