But 1 goal at PL level in his career Without properly checking, that’s more than any of the current squad had when they pulled on the blue and white. Except Sobhi and maybe Pritchard. Also he’s being Salah Firminio Mane. But that's 1 goal in 20 odd games despite the attacking riches Liverpool have to set him up with chances, he just seems too much of a risk to pin our season on.

"It is not that we have a short space of time, but that we waste much of it." I get the feeling that come January we will sign a couple of players no-one has heard of and almost as soon that no-one will remember. Surviving in the Prem is far easier than getting there...make it happen. Disagree with your final sentence. Gaining promotion was an incredible achievement, but staying up was far more impressive.

You don't want the Uth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way.

I would love us to go in for Defoe in a loan deal until the end of the season, proven goalscorer at this level. My only concern is he doesn't fit the current formation we seem to play (big target man up front). One player not mentioned, Tammy Abraham on a permanent? I know he didn't have the best of seasons last year but he fits the bill as a big stiker upfront, can finish, and if we are to be relegated he is a proven goalscorer in the Championship Good shout on Abraham. Especially if we get Solanke on loan. Abraham up top with solanke in Pritchard's position. Drop Pritchard into Mooy's role while needed. They played together in Chelsea's youth team so would have a good understanding.

Which do you consider the easiest right now. Staying there or getting back there if we are relegated? Town have made giant strides, the lack of a striker will send all those giant strides back down a snake to square one. The only hope for survival is doing something in January.

I am not disputing goals have been a problem for us but some seem to think that if we sign a striker or 2 that will guarantee us safety. We have made giant strides and we wont end up back at square one, not for a while anyway, square one was the bottom division, no matter what happens this season we are a long way from square one.

Go get Okazaki. Can play at 9 or 10, out of contract in the summer and fits our hardworking ethos. Good shout.

Zak Dearnley. A 19yo attacking midfielder, scored a handful of goals this season in Man Utd U23 squad. Local lad from Penisone. With Mooy out now, would be good for midfield and give some attacking options up front. A loan move would make sense till end of season and not break the bank.

lots mentioning players with potential, but we need players who can come in and do a job now. Anything else and we're getting relegated.

We have no strikers who actually score goals and our best midfielder/best player is out injured. Ask yourself if you'd bank on us staying up.

There are no guarantees in football but a couple of strikers who could get 12-15 goals between them from January to the end of the season would certainly give us a decent chance of staying up.

We need players who can come in and hit the ground running, we don’t have 2-3 months waiting until they’re up to the Wagner training regime. For me, that ideally means the finished article and not potential on this occasion. But as ever, Wagner has rarely let us supporters down and I’d stand by whoever he deems up to the task, at least to start with.

Come on Wagner take a punt on Eber Eze (AKA EZEZITIN) before the big clubs take him plenty watching him.

For the people mentioning Defoe, you do realise he's 36 and has just 4 goals in 28 appearances for Bournemouth? Just 4 Prem appearances in 18/19.
I don't think he's the Jermaine Defoe who saved Sunderland anymore. They always seem to default to Lys Mousset these days as back up striker which to me speaks volumes about Defoe.

I wonder if Pep will allow Phil Foden to go out on loan in January? Surely he'd benefit more getting regular premier league minutes than the 92 mins worth of premier league cameos he's had so far?

Could well be true. Is Defoe going to be our new Kevin Phillips?
