One thing I noticed tonight was that Mounie didn't jump properly for a header until injury time. He's got a massive leap on him so it's clear when he isn't trying fully and all night he was hardly getting off the ground. Finally got a bit angry towards the end and leapt about 300ft in the air and won the header easily Pretty galling to watch someone on ridiculous money not try regardless of the season already being over he is not a player for the 'bad days'.. he mooches to the box and then you have to hit him, he wont move far.. we press in the corner but he fails everytime to come across and they were able to clear every time.. as nobody good is going to sign him, he may have to drop back down again to get easier chances and less need to move much?

Normally try not to moan but tonight was dire - worse performance of the season. I can take losing as we’ve lost plenty this year but that was gutless
Some of our passing was Sunday league, Schindler, bacuna, Hogg (twice) played awful balls under no pressure which better sides would scored off
So many players had bad games though
The new manager as well - what was he thinking playing 5 defenders, 3 defensive midfielders, a winger and a striker until the 87th min ... and then it was a attacker (not defender) for delpoitre. I’ve never seen a team with ten men close out a win more comfortably. We made it so easy
Awful stuff I’m afraid today

When I was a kid I got given one of those LUFC sports bags, you know the light blue ones, like the retro Gola bags you see nowadays. Fortunately for me I was ahead of my time and used it to collect and store the dogshit from our 3 legged blind dog called Bremner... Oh, wow, great. Well, thanks for that little anecdote. You made my night. No, really. You did! Strange man. Keep going. I felt obliged since you accused me of being a Leeds fan. There's a bloke called Oti you should hook up with on here, seems like you'll get on like a house on fire...

Sounds like a delusional manager to me, “saying he’s proud of the players” made out Pickford was really busy Wow not great hearing that interview from jan tbh Give the bloke a chance, he's not going to start slagging his players off in public after one game. Pickford made two good saves but Kachunga should have buried his header.

I'm not blaming any of that on Siewert, only been here five minutes. The real worry will be if he can't nip this mentality in the bud we could be relegated with a lot of games to go, players will really get into a losing mentality that carries on over to next season. We probably can't afford to make huge changes in the summer though some will clearly be moving on. I’m already worried about appointing him. Why did we have attacking players on the bench while puncheon and diakhaby gave two of the most inept performances you’ll ever see. What was Jan waiting for. Possible too that he only brought Mooy on because Hogg was injured. Awful debut and a daunting prospect for a guy in a foreign country, in his first managerial job. I’m really worried already. If we lose every game, conceeding shite goals which is likely where does that leave us? Do we plough on next year in the championship with Jan? Loads won’t renew. Dean will be left stuck.

What happened to 4-3-3 and high pressing? The lads are relaxing on the beach already. Sending them to Portugal? No, should have sent the lazy buggers to Siberia...and left them there to find their own way back. Then whoever makes it back, we’ll have some real men playing for us.

Playing 10 men at home and we finished with 5 defenders on the pitch, and not even pushing high. It’s just so so so dull.

We must not forget it’s a massive step down. With Wagner and the spine of the team- lossl, Schindler, kongolo, Billing, Hogg plus a new striker I could’ve seen us being a force. Now I’m worried. New guy, no experience or respect from players, anyone decent will be gone and we could be left with some mentally destroyed players and complete imposters of footballers..
I think I owe SW6 an apology...
Wagner had certainly lost his belief but I fancied him to mount a bounce back challenge competing financially with most championship teams for the best players.

Awful match and an awful performance from Town. No positives tonight for me, only the return of Mooy. Diakhaby and Bacuna should never play for Town again, they're not the only dross we have either, big clear out needed. Looks like our stay in the Premier League is over, that result and others is the final nail. I honestly can't see us winning another game all season. It was horrendous and absolutely nobody will convince me otherwise. Aaron Mooy got the man of the match.... that says it all. Tonight highlighted how our problem isn’t the final third, it’s the 2nd third. We have no urgency, no pace and no tempo in the middle of the park. We are so predictable that tonight our only move was to get it to Flo and go from there. I’m genuinely baffled as to how wank we’ve become. Make no mistake about it, Everton were average and we never even looked like scoring.

You rather he stick the knife into players publicly I assume. He'll know the limitations of his squad given time.

Both Pickford's save were routine run of the mill saves, I'd expect any international keeper to make them, even Botswana's number one.

That was abysmal. We are frighteningly dull and predictable and let's be honest ...... Mooy, kongolo apart we have NO other consistent prem class players....billing is still a work in progress. The rest simply aren't good enough and I am still struggling to understand who managed the recruitment of sobhi, diakhaby, mbenza, bacuna as our signings this summer. We knew kongolo could handle this level.....the rest are way short and at times embarrassingly so. My son asked to go after 65 mins....bored! We are not sleepwalking into relegation.....we have slept into it. The lack of fight and simple basics was pitiful, particularly as Everton were bang average. Any of the other 18 sides in this division would have beaten Everton tonight, they were dire We’ve had several woeful performances against us this year. Burnley at Turf Moor were hitting it out on the full. Fulham home & away were dire. Newcastle were dreadful to a man. Cardiff woeful. West Ham were shite for 45, Brighton were crap...For us to only have 11 points is an absolute disgrace. It hasn’t been hard for Brighton to stabilise really- obviously a better starting squad but they recruited better players than us- gross etc.. There was every chance for us to build on survival but we totally blew it. Had to get a striker who could score at this level and we didn’t get one.

We just don’t have the quality, simple as that especially in the final third. Mooy made a big difference when he came on, a few neat little passes and composure, it is going to be a real shame to lose him in the summer but he deserves better, sure can’t see him remaining but hope he goes for no less than £20m in today’s market. I can’t agree fully tbh mate. The final third isn’t our main problem here. How can we expect to score in the final third if it takes a millennia to get there at an almost walking pace tempo. In the midfield we either go back or sideways. Literally every team knows all they have to do is put two banks of 4 in front of there goal. You could put Messi up top for us and it wouldn’t male a difference.

I said on this thread it’s defensive focus we need to get back first, before we think of attacking we need to be level in the game- forcing the opposition to at least try and play. We don’t have the players to attack premier league defences so we must have them come at us a bit. Clean sheet and build from there. Football basics. Old as the hills. So what do we do? Basically allow them to walk it in after 3 minutes.

You're surely having a laugh. He offers nothing. He's slow, can't/won't shoot, gets caught in possession because he's so one footed. A Desperate signing imo

I know but that’s just not Hogg’s game. He can’t be the man on the edge of the box trying to thread passes. Re. Puncheon thought he looked decent on debut but woeful tonight. I was reminded of the post from the Palace fan early in the Puncheon signing thread who said something along the lines of “if you want a guy to control it turn 5 times and then pass it backwards then he’s your man!” No that’s the absolute opposite of what we want. We’ve got Hogg for that. We’ve got Bacuna- who can’t wait to pass it backwards. Last thing we need is another guy not willing to take responsibility and do something positive and creative with the football.

You could put Messi up top for us and it wouldn’t male a difference. There are so many teams at this level who play fast pacy, counter attacking football. Taking aside the difference in spending power for a second, we've not had that mentality for a long time and certainly not in the top 2 divisions. You could argue that the game is becoming like the ODI's, the T20's in cricket. It's about scoring more than your opponents & if you're successful in that, it will probably follow that you look as though you're playing fast, attractive football for 90 mins, which isn't really the case. We also lack the players who are able to make that worldy, incisive pass at the sharp end, in situations where the fast break isn't on & you're needing to be more patient & calculated. Mooy tries his best to do the latter of those, but the players need to be on the same wavelength for that to come off. We're lacking the quality, but we're also lacking a team that just doesn't seem to have gelled like it should have done...

Lossl needs to be quicker at releasing too.....
