Even if it's to a group or person who has a few billion and wants to invest heavily in the squad and club in general? You'd be absolutely mad to not want that Be careful what you wish for. Bolton Bradford Leeds Portsmouth Sunderland Ipswich Sheffield Wednesday Just a few examples of clubs run badly by wealthy people. Wealth means nothing if run the wrong way. Dean is worth more than money imo. Right now we need stability. Add Birmingham and Reading into that little mix.

The catchment area for Norwich is no bigger than that of Towns, infact i would say Towns is bigger. My gaffa who is a Man City fan and he has told me that from what he was told on a recent business trip to the land of the rising sun!! a consortium over there are very interested. Our catchment area is nowhere near the size or Norwich's! Their catchment area is about the size of West and South Yorkshire COMBINED! The nearest other club is Ipswich and thats 45 miles away! A catchment area is based on population as well and not just the size of an area and while just about all of Norfolk is rural, West Yorkshire is densely populated at two and a half million to Norfolk's roughly 850,000.

I thought it was pretty obvious based on what we bought pre season and the odd selections from Wagner early doors which basically said " have you bought me, I cant play the way I want with this lot". We then have Mr Invisible accidentally letting slip that they had a disagreement on direction pre January and he said he would be going at the end of the season at that point. We then have the Times interview the other day where summer transfers were mentioned. Seems obvious to me, I don't have time to check and dredge up quotes etc so feel free to shoot me down but based on what I've seen and heard its the obvious conclusion, don't forget Wagner had recently committed to the club. The line about stress was clearly nonsense to allow Wagner and the club to part amicably. I guess he was stressed at having to try and work a miracle with an even worse squad than he had the season before but that wasn't the reason he left (stress). He clearly felt he couldn't take the club forward any more, he always said he'd walk when that happened. I guess if the bargain basement shopping had produced fit for purpose premier league players it would be a different story but as we know it absolutely didn't and it turned out our shopper(s) weren't very good. This is all IMO obviously, I'm sure the usual suspects will be along shortly to tell me Im talking complete and utter crap, they know best, I'm negative, Tom Ince is a league one player, we'll be lucky to keep hold of Diakbnenza etc etc Just my opinion based on what I've seen and read. [br Dean Hoyle said Diakhaby was Wagner's number one summer target. Was Dean lying? I thought he said Mbenza

Kirklees in its entirety is half as populated as norfolk and a good deal of those people are nearer Leeds than town. Not to mention that our catchment area is also very much in the expanded catchment area of clubs like man utd or City

Genuine question Roy - what do "we", or you, know that makes you think Wagner walked because of the transfer policy ? There are plenty that have thrown money at it and they are now established Premier League sides. There are one or two with new money and they are now top 6 clubs Just depends how well it is managed

You always had to be relitevly wealthy to run a club now the proposition is for the mega wealthy who see it either as a plaything or another avenue to make money. Taking over a club and buying the title was easy ala Chelsea but as more mega rich owners join in the prospect becomes much harder, if the prem gets full of these owners then the status quo is maintained but the crashes that much greater, especially if the owners get tired of their playthings. Owners with no relationship with the clubs or towns they represent are a danger to the fabric of the game. A perfect storm is gathering where if Sky starts to fail with lower subscription and supporters are expected to cough up even more revenue the dam will eventually burst. I can see the day when this sort of chairman get together and franchise the league as teams will be there by the cash they have rather than how competitive they are, relegation bursts their bubble. Dean Hoyle has got to be the best chairman the cluB has ever had, I can't believe the folk lining up to take a pop at him. He is one of a kind, if I won the lottery ten times over I wouldn't buy the club because you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. It's the easiest thing in the world to tell folk how to spend their money and even easier with hindsight but takes balls to make the decisions using your own cash.

I agree, there is always the chance that a new owner could treat us as a vanity project. A play thing and when they get bored dump us in the shit a bit like Rubery did. The difference with our owner to others is that I feel sure Dean would do his due diligence. Carefully making decisions, ensuring to the best of his ability that the club would be in safe hands. He wouldn’t put his baby into the Lions den. He would not want a situation like we had after our Barry dropped us. Emergency meeting in the Town Hall. Buckets going round the John Smiths for any donations. We all remember it too well and so will Dean. I’m pretty sure we would only be sold if it was right for the Hoyle family, right for the club and right for our fans. Tbf, Rubery could've finished us if he'd gone after what we owed him Rubery was no fool and he certainly didn't do anything to help town in our demise. He just used Town's administration as a huge tax write off and would have ended up profiting from the situation.

You think he spent £50m a year on Town for 10 years? I was continuing your initial hypothetical comparison forwards of someone spending 5k of their earning vs someone spending 10% of their personal fortune a year for 10 years. I’ve no idea what any actual person has spent and it’s not really any of my business.

If i had £500m in the bank, plus more probably, with interest, clever accountants, £49.404,343 wouldn't really bother me all that much Club is in better shape than when he took over, MUCH better shape in fact. He'll recoup his money no worries, probably a bit more besides. He's got a clever accountant on the board in Daryl Bryant.... the guy he employed to oversee his exit from Card Factory. Wouldn't surprise me in one bit if he's been brought in for the same purpose. Interesting. He's no mug. Very clever bloke, very smart businessman. Yes he's a fan but he saw the potential, too.

Herbert Chapman? Boothy? Mother Theresa? Piers Morgan?
