Haven’t we got the option of a 1 year extension...? In which case 10 months would be 22. If we lose Mooy it will be a sad day... but obviously hardly the most unexpected event. I wouldn’t worry though given this has been a real possibility I’m assuming ‘our excellent head of recruitment josh marsh’ would have his replacements lined up.... Sadly no we don't have an option of a 1 year extension. Thought you were meant to be ITK? www.htafc.com/news/2017/june/transfer-aaron-mooy-joins-town-permanently/Yes we do

I’d rather have Mooy walking round the pitch sulking than any of the other jokers we have claiming to be midfielders.

Doesn't matter if 'we' get £5, £5million or £50million for him. 'We' won't see any of it.

If we sell him the crowds will really drop down, will stink of teen spirit and the marcus stewart affair. Selling your best most creative midfielder . What right have we to keep a player of Mooy's ability in the Championship if a Premier league club wants him and he wants to go. Especially if we make a profit selling him now but get nothing if we wait a year?

How about looking it from a different perspective. Mooy may have forced the move. And Brighton might be the only club who wanted him. Shock horror. A disinterested Mooy is no use to anyone. But it’s easier to blame the club the reports say 'brighton faught off competition to sign Mooy'.... Oh those reports. Wow. That’s made me look stupid

I always assumed we had the extra year option too. I put the question to a very senior official who said no we don't. I can only assume that the extra year could only be triggered if we're in the prem This is what I put earlier

Seems like a firesale to me, selling off our best players and all the good work done by DW and DH. No ambition, back to being a Championship / League 1 side for the foreseeable future, unlike the likes of Burnley. We can't afford £30k/wk wages in Championship if you want £250 season tickets. Simples.

It's alright saying sell Mooy this and that. But what's another £20m if it isn't going to be invested into our piss poor playing squad.
Mooy £20m Billing £15m Smith £4m
Best part of £40m in player sales there. More off the wage bill. Plus cleared big earners like durm, depoitre, Williams and others off the wage bill. Why has no money been spent on improving our squad? A freebie that on Monday nights evidence is way past it and a lad from orient and forest Green who can't make our shockingly bad bench. It's a joke.
Wouldn't be surprised if Mooy is sold for less than billing just so the club can make a quick sale on him.

If we let Aaron Mooy go without replacement it will be football suicide. I wasn’t buying into all the doom and gloom after Monday night but if he goes, with our paper thin midfield, we truly are up Shit Creek without a paddle.
£5M, £15M, £50M or a season long loan sign an astronomical loan fee, doesn’t matter they’re all awful deals without a replacement.

No great surprise if he goes, only 10 months left on his contract and no chance of him signing a new deal the club had no choice, better something now than fuk all in 10 months. He was always going to go if an offer came in from any premier league club and his half arsed performance on Monday showed that it's best for all, good luck to him, thanks for some great memories but time to move on.

I've been watching Town for 50 years now and I'm getting a nasty feeling of deja-vu. Sell Mooy and many of us will have that horrible feeling in our guts we had when we sold the likes of Worthington, Cherry, Stewart etc. I still believe if we can keep this squad together we have a good chance of making the play-offs despite our poor showing on Monday, possibly with a new coach. Sell Mooy and it sends the wrong signal to the fans and the other teams in the league. He's a grown man - he'll get over not getting his move.

Decades after the ‘Denis Law floodlights’ we now have the ‘Aaron Mooy rug’ going around the pitch. Quite ironic, given his baldness.

Wouldn’t make sense to loan him given 10 months left on his contract. So unless this ‘loan’ involves our valuation as a loan fee, or we activate the 1 year extension in his contract before he goes, then I’d assume that rumour is a load of bollocks. Unsurprising given it’s Talkshite and the Sun reporting it. It would big sense for him to go on a loan for a big fee ahead of a pre agreed sale price. Think about it....Man City get a cut of his fee on any profit we make. They get nothing from a loan fee. Given that transfer fees are paid across the duration of a contract rather than in one big lump, we could easily pick up as much on a loan this season as we would collect from a transfer fee in pure annual income terms...so the overall amount to Town could end up being larger than a straight sale of the same financial value (where City would take their cut from the entire amount)

I'm no expert on the shenanigans around football transfers so for all I know, Mooy going on a 1 year loan might be the best deal since sliced bread, but good grief, the Chairman will have to do a lot of explaining to sell it to me (and I expect a few others).
If he decides not to explain, I suspect he will lose the goodwill of a lot of fans who have stayed silent until now.

If he does leave on loan it will be because it suits us and Mooy. Assume city have a hefty sell on, letting him go on loan for a very sizeable loan fee may net us more and gets a top earner off the wage bill. From Mooys point of view it means he's not tied to a club who might get relegated but still gets his prem football. Then in 12 months he gets his retirement to China on 100k a week A voice of sense Quick, get the pitchforks! 😂

Selling Mooy in this transfer window I think would destroy a lot (not all) of the goodwill and support which has been built up between the fans and the club over past few years under Wagner and Hoyle and would kill off any hopes of a promotion push this season.

But it’s easier to blame the club He doesn’t want to be at town, that’s not hear say. It’s fact. Literally no point in having someone who doesn’t want to be here and isn’t putting a shift in in training. He may well be a fan favourite but he’s acted no different to Hunt behind the scenes.

I really hate transfer deadline day... I just wouldn’t pick up the phone. Brighton leaving us with a weak midfield now. No time to replace. Terrible!
