I was sat here wondering how many Town fans are in the same position as myself regards next season, that is who have lost jobs over the last few months and will be unable to afford a season ticket or match day tickets come next season. As things stand ,I am sure many of you on here will have family and friends in a similar position. I know the Club give concessions but as far as I know it does not extend to the unemployed.

They used to do a concession for unemployed in the 80s but I don't think they've done it since then. They should look to bring something like that back I reckon.

Trouble is, where do you draw the line? I feel for anyone who has lost their job and is struggling but you just have to prioritise you're outgoings to suit your situation. The club can't be expected to subsidise. Would you(as an example) get cheaper meals in a restaurant, cheaper theatre tickets, cheaper sky tv etc? No. I wish anyone in this position all the best, i have been there.
PS: I am currently off sick due to tearing my anterior cruciate ligament and haven't been paid for 2 months. I have had to cancel my Sky subscription and stopped eating out etc as I just can't afford these luxuries.

If god existed I would claim knees as his biggest error.

If god existed I would claim knees as his biggest error. God Yeah. True Story - When I was 15 i did some Anterior ligament damage in the Gelpack Cup Final. Kind of injury that a pro footballer would have a small op on and would be sorted in 1-2 months. Left it over the summer as I thought it would sort itself, but once training started i realised it hadn't. Went to Dr's, who sent me to hospital for an X-ray. X-ray showed nothing (off course it didn't, it wasn't a bone injury!) Hospital told me there was nothing wrong with it and that i should basically get on with it. Tried to carry on playing but was in pain and couldn't play to the standard I expected of myself (I'd had trials so I was half decent!). Cue 5 years of visits to the Dr's/Hospital and an MRI scan i finally had it sorted with an opp when i was 20, but 5 years of damaged ligament and cartilage has taken it's toll and I still get pain. In short, Knee's suck!

A bit of goodwill at this time from Town (or any business) could be good for everyone though. Offer a cheap ticket means more chance of keeping supporters and more chance of them buying tickets at full price when things pick up them. Getting new customers costs something like three times what it costs to keep customers, so we don't want to lose loyal fans.

All cartilage problems mind, none of this ligament business - I've managed to escape that particular avenue of pain!

I agree,if the club were to offer a cheap ticket I would consider asking a friend for a loan and pay back in the future, that small amount of money would be better paid to the club than having an empty seat and no money at all.

Its actually aching slightly now, and i'm doing nothing but sitting at my sodding desk, 4 years after it was opperated on! My Dad had a knee replacement 18 months ago, which is an avenue i will have to go down later in life, no doubt.

EDIT - That might be a lie, I think they just shaved part of his bone off to fix it for the time being. I probably should know, him being my dad an all.

My dad had the full 'Andy Booth' bionic knee. Im not too bothered about that, more worried about having a pipe stuck up my c**k so I can pee. He says having that pulled out was the worst pain he's ever experienced Back on topic? ;D

But if you offer discounted tickets to the unemployed, what then happens if they get a job during the season? and vice versa? Do you ask for a part refund if you start the season employed and loose your job mid season?

Well, I am out of work and have broken knee's which ended a glittering hockey career. 2 operations so far. Future operations and fluid under the kneecap are guaranteed at some point.
I am also sporting the biggest, ugliest bruise on my right knee due to having one too many sherries and slipping over.

Right knee is losing 2-1 on ops (with countless other sporting/beer injuries in between, hence the nickname!) but the osteoarthritis is developing nicely, all at the ripe old age of 27. As one consultant said, "the knee is a terribly badly desgined joint", of great comfort that was! My advice is, unless it is something really knackered and painful avoid the knife, i'm crock now due to the inevitable damage done by surgery, but surgeons love to have a root about to find problems!

All I know is the club would benefit from a small amount of money and another supporter than none at all

I once fell and grazed my knee Oh, and i'd be annoyed if the club did discounted tickets for people out of work. While I have every sympathy for those of you have been liad off due to the "credit crunch" I dont see why I should be penalised into paying extra just becuase I happen to work in an industry where job cuts are not being made.

My knees are slowly getting worse. I blame playing football on a concrete tennis court every lunch time for 5 years while at school.

At least we got to use proper footballs!
My knees do tend to stiffen up a bit once I've got past the 8 mile mark on my morning walk.

As did we, because girls kept getting hit in the face. Dont play hopscotch or whatever in the middle of the sodding goals then! Playground footy was ace though. Nobody ever knew the score after about 5 minutes and it was always last goal wins. We even nicked a load of pretend money from Eureka and used it to buy each other so the teams were even(ish) ;D
