Haha Sorry guys. Ive been out of action all weekend pretty much and the lass I got the info off has gone dark.. I was told it was DONE at 2.30ish on Friday. Turns out the clayton refusing to speak to Boro fucked things up and now he doesnt know if he is coming or going. He was told by Dean earlier in the week that Robins would not be sacked and then obviosuly as of today Robins is no longer the manager so that wont have helped things...
Apologies for announcing it as signed but thats the impression I was given... You know I arent one for making this shit up.. If I hear owt else I can share I will do.
What a weekend eh?

I would say there's a negligible chance of any incoming transfers while we are without a manager. No players wants to be someone else's pick.

Generally I'd say so tho we don't quite know whose selection butterfield is/was. Was it Wilson's pick or didi it just come up as boro wee win for Clayton. I for one hope Clayton stays and plays for new manager.

Can't see him signing now! Shame really! why? he didn't want to come. Blood some young uns who actually want to play for us first instead of wasting money on a lad who does not want to be here.

Would be ridiculous to sign anyone before we get a new Manager, besides we have too many midfielders,
To new Manager{- a target man centre forward, and a commanding centre back please.

I cant imagine what kind of conversation prior to the season kicking off involves the club owner telling a prospective new signing about the likelihood of the manager being sacked!!

Not true. He was initially pissed off with Boro but once he knew he wasnt in the managers plans there he was more than happy to come here.. Hes just relocated to leeds so its an ideal move really..

Well we got there in the end. The Clayton , then robins situation threw a big spanner in the works but eventually it went through..

He can actually move forward with the ball at his feet and under control! Great finish last night.

Interesting to note that Reading + Norwood = dramatic slide towards League 1 Bye-bye Adkins.

Most of what we do that is positive comes from Butterfield. Keeps it simple, decent in the tackle, holds the ball up well and scores goals.
You can tell that he's enjoying his football.

Individually I don't care, but Butterfield, Coady and Hogg is a better and more versatile midfield for us than Clayton, Norwood and Hogg so all is good

Thought he played well last night but I would've liked to have seen him 10 yards further up the pitch especially in the second half. Holt needed someone not far behind him but there was nobody central within 30 yards at times plus if he'd been a bit further forward he would've had a chance of a couple more goals attacking pull backs from Scannell. He's more dynamic than Clayton so I prefer Butterfield of the 2 but as an overall player there's not much between them.

Individually I don't care, but Butterfield, Coady and Hogg is a better and more versatile midfield for us than Clayton, Norwood and Hogg so all is good Agreed. Individual qualities don't matter if the unit doesn't function correctly and it is blatantly obvious that our current midfield has more balance that the one featuring Clayton and Norwood. Last night in the second half we became a bit laboured and predictable, but in general our midfield this season has been more mobile and effective going forward. All contribute in different ways but they are performing well and making us look a better side as a result. Also helps having Holt up front who can hold the ball up and enable the midfield to get up the pitch and join the attack.
