Just been on the Rotherham forum. A mysterious new poster "E5stevenSmyth" has just claimed Ward was man of the match and will go on to become Rotherham's best winger for twenty years . Interesting times

I'd guess you... The first time Town lose and Rotherham win on the same day. Especially if either score. Nah, they are shit mate :-) ...today... ;-)

Funny how a journo covering Rovrum said they both made an instant impact and in fact Rovrum were the better team.
Both are still technically our players too.

Match report says they both went close with shots actually. Still, they weren't getting a look in at Town. Our bench did look weaker, granted, but let's see who we bring in.

To be honest, no, Alli didn't look good, even though he scored MKD's equaliser with almost the last kick of the match. I was aware that Alli had been getting rave reviews, so I took note of him, but he didn't look sharp at all. It was actually a very odd game. Crawley led with an early penalty, but on about 30 minutes their goalie (Brian Jensen, ex Burnley, grey, fat and 40) got injured after an innocuous-looking collision. Unfortunately, Crawley had no reserve goalie on the bench, so they brought on their striker Matt Harrold to play in goal. You could just tell from the way he acted and his positioning that he clearly was no keeper! MKD didn't really test him till the second half and, to be fair, he started to gain confidence, and somehow made a few scrambled saves. He was actually named MOM, which drew a big cheer, but let in two soft late goals that a regular goalie would probably have stopped. There were three or four occasions when MKD players got into arguments with spectators as well. Anthony Kay played decent, till subbed when MKD were going for it. No idea about Afobe, but he never even made the bench. What was with MK Dons players celebrating in front of the home fans and giving it all the shush finger? Had something gone on?

Yes, whilst it was 2-1 to Crawley, Will Grigg tried to get the ball back from the crowd for a corner and got into a "discussion". He was still continuing it when the corner was being taken, and carried on after the ball was scrambled away Then, MKD got the last second equaliser and their players took great delight in mouthing off at the spectators again, so got booked! In the first half on the far touchline from where I was, Carl Baker of MKD got involved with someone stood in the disabled area as well. Not a particularly nice club Crawley, ugly new town, boring ground, ugly fans. Don't know why I bother going there occasionally, really.

A fee of £350,000 quoted for Ward on the Rotherham forum. Not bad business by Town, if true. The sole purpose of giving him the one year contract in the summer rather than releasing him. Dean aint daft. They knew they wanted a return and they'll get one now. Mids Is your comment confirming the £350,000 figure or just that we've got a return through the one year contract? I can never tell how much you're "in the know" (except that it's much more than most).

Rotherham are in a similar position as town , and both Ward and Hammill need to show that they have the ability to do the job at championship level. Powell must have thought otherwise as obviously he would not have let them go.

Getting players off the wage bill is as important as signing players. Or at least without one you can't have the other ...

I feel both players have been released to free up wages with a view to any new signings. Lolley and Bunn are being developed , and Scannell is just bloody fantastic.

Lolley and especially Bunn are ahead in the pecking order ... We may sign another wideman but I wouldn't think it's number one priority . We were a bit " flabby" in that area in my opinion..... Good business to shift on two guys who weren't getting in

Funny how Rotherham still lost with the addition of both the players. Only just realised they both made the starting 11. then again I don't waste my time focusing on other teams performances :-)

Rotherham centre is a real dump, worse than Hudds imo. Danny won't be impressed.

Said on the telly that it was a 28 day emergency loan. That was so he could play on Saturday at Brentford. Paperwork had to be completed by 12:00 on Friday and it wasn't, so went for emergency loan just to secure his services for that game. Permanent now.

Examiner reporting a fee of around £375k.. Not bad considering he's out of contract in the summer & hardly featured this season.

Examiner reporting a fee of around £375k.. Not bad considering he's out of contract in the summer & hardly featured this season. That's even higher than the £350k fee I reported on here a few days ago (I'd got that figure from the Rotherham forum, though other posters of then thought it was £350k for Ward + Hammill). Decent fee then for Ward in the circumstances.
