Great assist from Hammill yesterday! When he's on form he's a handful in this division.. He's got another 12mths with us so I wouldn't right him off making a come back.. Look at Gobern, when he went to Chesterfield on loan I didn't think we'd see him in a town shirt again! Hammill looked decent for us last season until that Dale Stevens horror tackle.

I've always been a fan, he was our outstanding player for the first half of last season and gave Vaughan countless assists. However, it may be that Powell wants rid of Hammill for non-footballing reasons - and if so then I'd back him on that - one thing that has impressed me about Powell is that he doesn't appear to tolerate bad attitudes and negative influences on team spirit (dickheads, in other words).
We might get a couple of hundred grand for him if he has a year left. I'd rather see us use Scannell, Bunn & Lolley - then look to promote from the juniors.

Ask me in a year or two when Wardy has fully recovered from his recent injury, settled into his new team and got a run of games and goals behind him. It's too easy to pick on someone who has been starved of games through injury isn't it. Time will tell and I won't be surprised to see Wardy and possibly Hammill returning and stuffing it up us in similar style to Rhodes.

Hammill causes his own problems-I quite liked him but fully understand why he has been loaned out! Ward starved of games through injury- I would say through injury and his lack of effort- he had plenty of time to prove himself here and didn't!! To compare them with Rhodes is laughable- a player who gave his all here, proved himself and got himself a big money move versus one who never lived up to the money we paid for him and one who liked picking fights with female paramedics and suffered from 'personal problems'!! Time will indeed tell - my guess is that neither will 'stuff it up us' unless we play in League one or below because that's where they will be!!!

Adam Hammill was loaned out because Town owe him appearance bonuses should he make 50 appearances. Don't expect him to play for the club again. Given his off field issues the club aren't interested in paying it.

Given his off field issues the club aren't interested in paying it. How does that work exactly? According to soccerbase Hammill made 49 appearances for us in 2013 / 2014 and 8 appearances this season.

The only way Powell could have a look at Hammill was in cup games because of it.

I'm not interested weather you believe me or not. you will see that he won't play again and that's why Every bit of "insider info" on here is treated with healthy scepticism, but this sounds pretty plausible to me. No need to get uptight.

Think you're confusing Rory's post with mine, I never mentioned loan appearances nor did I say I disbelieved you.

got on the defensive gents apologies!! It does make sense as he is on 49 league appearances. Powell has made it plain with others, if he wants you out out you go.

well I did get it from the horses mouth over 4 pints (whilst his car sat in the car park) in a pub in Ormskirk. He suggests that Powell wanted him but was not allowed to pay the fee... weather or not Hammill was saying to save face I don't no? it came across as though he was a favorite of Mark Robins

Clearly a Robins favourite. Similar to Beckford and Grayson, he doesn't seem to perform well under anybody else.

funny you should say that, his mate said the same thing. He would be a premier league player if his head was where it should be

but he said Robins was aware of his drinking habits and told him as long as he could prove his fitness Thursday and Friday, that he would play
