Still unprofessional though. This is the reason why I won't be wasting any of my time attending any of his forums and probably the reason many others feel the same. If you don't want to waste your time attending any of his forums, any chance you can stop commenting about them as well then. You know, so you don't look like a massive hypocrite. Just because I don't intend attending any of his forums doesn't bar me from voicing my opinion on his unprofessional outbursts on here does it? Please let me know whether or not I need to personally ask you permission to post anything on here prior to doing so.

Whereas I'll keep going and enjoy listening to a chairman that still comes across as a fan, rather than hiding behind political correctness on how a chairman "should" be. That's your choice. Personally I would much rather listen to someone from a footballing background rather than a businessman who's wealth makes him think he is big enough to slag off whoever he wants to.

Here's my take on yesterday's Q&A with Dean Hoyle. I've been to several Q&A's with Dean Hoyle and he didn't say anything much that was too different to what I'd heard from him before. Was he fed up as some posters on here that also attended suggested he was? Well, I didn't particularly get that impression. I think he was maybe a bit weary of asking the sort of questions he's been asked, and answered, a thousand times before.I think he was a bit resentful (rightly, IMO) about what he perceives as too much negativity in the media towards Town. He can accept constructive criticism, but he feels there's just too much negativity, almost for the sake of it. This negativity can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, and he's bang on. The two examples I can recall him mentioning were Kieran O'Regan's Radio Leeds commentary, and the vitriol aimed at Ross Wilson. 1. Club Ambition - he made it as clear as he could that supporters have to understand and accept that, by Championship standards, we are "lower-mid table". He must have used the phrase "we are where we are" ten times or more. Town have a smaller budget than most, smaller turnover than most, smaller support than most in this league. Town will NOT (under his watch) do a QPR or a Leicester and try to buy themselves out of this league. He likened us to Burnley - in fact he's sees Burnley as the example he insists that Town should follow. Before anyone has a go, I appreciate modest clubs like Bournemouth and Brentford are showing Town up a bit this season, but, hey, that's football, they're having a good season and they might be successful, but let's see. His message to Town fans hasn't really changed....he wants gradual progress based on sound management and solid foundations. He thinks that's what Town have, but he's not complacent, he still has ambitions for Town to continue to improve. I think he'd just like a little bit more patience from the fans. 2. Club Ownership - he reiterated what he's said before, that if someone came in who HE felt was right for HTFC and could take HTFC forward better/faster than he can, then great, he'd sell. He said he hadn't actively been trying to find a potential buyer. I was slightly surprised at that........I'd have thought he'd be doing something on that score in the background. Maybe he is, but doesn't want to start any unhelpful gossip. 3. January Transfers Out - Hoyle said that footballers want to play, so those that are playing are never a problem; it's those that are not playing that are the problem, and Town have had/still got too many of them. It is as clear as can be that he wants Gerrard off the premises, ASAP. Clearly he sees Gobern and Stead as having had the opportunities to do it for Town, and they just haven't done it, so it seems Gobern will leave sooner rather than later. He has had conversations with Jon Stead where they had differing opinions - DH thought JS was "wearing slippers", back at his home-town club and too comfortable, JS disagreed and DH think's JS's performances were his way of sticking two fingers up to DH about that.....and DH said "good luck to the lad". Town are paying half of his wages at Bradford. DH (and Chris Powell) want a smaller, tight-knit, better quality squad. 4. January Transfers In - ALF was on his way to Town, but Bolton came in, offering slightly better money than Town, but the clincher was that ALF lives in Cheshire and Bolton was a better commute for him. CP wants a new striker, DH supports that fact. It seems pretty certain that that striker will be from a Premier League club and it will occur when the Loan Window re-opens in about one weeks' time. 4. Steve Thompson - once CP came in Thompson didn't really have a role at Town. Great lad apparently, very popular, but he did the right thing to go to Leeds. 5. Academy - I asked a two-part question a) is it his expectation that the Academy will really start to deliver in terms of bringing players through into the first team and b) does he have ambitions to take the Academy to the next level. To be honest, I don't think he answered the first question! To take Town to the next level would require roughly a further £1.5 million per annum - should Town do that or use that towards the first team? General murmuring was that first team is the priority. 6. Ross Wilson to Southampton gossip - my take on it is that there's some truth to this rumour. He didn't admit it or deny it, but I think there's probably been some contact between the clubs. Just my guess from DH's reaction. However, DH was very upset and disappointed at the negativity that's been spouted about RW's role and responsibility in the club. It's clear DH thinks RW is an asset to the club. It's obvious DH and the club as a whole is well aware of what's been said on social media, but Town can't control twitter, facebook, DATM etc. Be careful what you wish for Town fans! 7. FA Cup - he was desperately disappointed at Town going out with a whimper. He wants a good cup run desperately. Think that more-or-less sums it up. I might have missed some things out. Apparently DH could be holding another Q&A (to be confirmed) before the Charlton match at the end of the month. Excellent post and very informative, thankyou.

interesting he mentioned radio leeds commentary. both oggy and keiron can be negative, but to be fair we've not given em much to be enthusiastic about this season.

I appreciate everything Dean has done and continues to do for HTFC,but with him being the direct employer of the players he has opened himself up to criticism. If the comment was made within the confines of the HTFC management/board then there's nothing to criticize, but it was made in a public environment When the main man at Card factory did he make comments reference staff in a public way ? When you employ people you cannot do this , as you could be seen to be constructively dismissing said employee....Dean is a passionate guy and has turned this club around, but the amount of people on here who think he can do no wrong is staggering. Dean is a savvy businessman and die hard Town fan who in my mind is as open to criticism as any other Town fan. Are you serious? Is that a serious comment in this debate? Deano can say what the fuck he likes about the club - he owns it. And if half-arsed, big mouthed scousers are buying Range Rovers with Dean's money then he can say he hopes they leave without us all shrieking in horror "ooh, how unprofessional!!". I'm sure he doesn't give a monkey's toss whether he falls foul of employment regulation 68 law 5 paragraph 2. I loved his remarks about Gerrard and Gobern yesterday - really made me laugh.

if you are wanting to get rid of an expensive asset, rubbishing it in public, might not be the best way to go about it..
it does appear we have supporters who believe in rubbishing some players but wont hear a word of critique on others???
id rather have had gerrard coming on yesterday than Wallace..twatter accounts or not...
we don't have a player who is beyond critique at this time..once we do, we can sell him..

Hoyle has changed the club dramatically for the good but unfortunately now the club appear to have hit a brick wall and they don't appear to know what to do about it. The squad is dangerously paper thin with one day to go of the transfer window, is there going to be 3 signings announced tomorrow? I very much doubt it. To hear Hoyle admit that the playing budget for next season is going to be cut even further, points to one thing for me....relegation, should we stay up this season of course. How has the club hit a brick wall? Edit I've copy and pasted this from a previous thread which didn't get a lot of traffic, probably because it was a positive thread... This is our league position since 06/07 06/07 - League 1 - 15th 07/08 - League 1 - 10th 08/09 - League 1 - 9th 09/10 - League 1 - play off semi finalists 10/11 - League 1 - play off finalists 11/12 - League 1 - play off winners 12/13 - Championship - 19th 13/14 - Championship - 17th Read more: downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/95276/steady-progress-pun-intended#ixzz3QVoAuz4iWe currently sit 17th on 34 points along with 5 other teams - reading, Fulham, Cardiff, Bolton, forest. All have vastly higher wage budgets. All have spent a lot of money this season and recent seasons. Money which we don't have. Off the field we have the shares back, which was a big thing to this club. Canalside. One of the top facilities outside the premier league. It was built all at the expense of our chairman - Dean Hoyle. Sometimes you need to be proud of what we have achieved as opposed to angry at what we haven't. If not we can always have the days of league 2 football Infront of crowds of 4k? Dean Hoyle has given this club more chance of being successful than many of the previous chairman. If the fans who think we aren't doing it right feel so strongly about it then they should have come down and questioned the decisions made yesterday at his Q+A.

Kieran goes at it as a fan more than a pundit.. the pundit would probably talk about the money in the league and the unfairness of it all, aligned with the pressures on the manager and the players etc etc etc..
they might even have offered the early injury to wells and subsequent injury to lynch as the reasons at why we lost, missing out on the fact that we were on the front foot for the majority of the game but failed miserably to support that.
looking for reasons why we lost, rather than reasons why we didn't win..

Gerrard and Gobern will be well aware that they will be released at the end of their current contracts. I think the club will be actively helping them find employment elsewhere for their future careers. IMO the business of football is so far removed from the general working conditions of the rest of society, a constructive dismissal case would be laughed out of any potential hearing. It may have been wiser for DH not to mention this, I agree that he does tend to go too far in these forums when talking about specific players the Jack Hunt example being the worst to date that I was witness to. Even then if DH tells the truth then I can hardly see any player current or former having any recourse. It was Dean Hoyle who gave Gerrard his contract (and Gobern both his original and extension) and is honouring it, as such Gerrard and Gobern are employees of the club until June 2015, and are paid for their services. If DH continues to pay them for the remainder of their contract then he has fulfilled everything he needs to do.

Lets get a grip on this argument.. we would not have put the future of the club in jeopardy if we had brought Lolley on yesterday. The bright future wasn't put in danger if we had pushed everyone forward for the last 10 instead of going into our shell. The lack of belief and confidence in the club is quite staggering given the game itself yesterday, the desire to get 'away with something' in virtually every game is annoying and imo unnecessary.. If yesterday wasn't a game to go for it, then we simply are not fit to be here, however happy we might be , just to be here.. You're continued approach to demand we play an attacking style of football consistently fails to consider one tiny factor. The opposition. When Lynch went off and Wallace came on, I knew we'd lose. The lad has vulnerability and liability ingrained in his DNA, and guess what, you can bet Steve Thompson was well aware of that fact. The leeds players were already trying to exploit an injured Lynch and the message from the bench when Wallace replaced him would have been quite simply, to carry on. First ball over the top and Wallace got done, next time - goal. It doesn't look good if that's what you think of our 3rd choice centre half Mel. I know Gerrard is a problem but it might have been a wise move not to have cut him adrift like we did, we are paying him so play him until we find someone to take him. When he goes replace him. If he mis-behaves fine him. On another note. a few posters have had a go at other posters for wanting Hoyle to put in more money, I am not sure that is what people are saying. Most agree with the clear out and our aim to have lesser numbers with more quality, from what I read most criticism is around our lack of ambition on the pitch, or Poor use of subs.

Good bloke is Kiegan. Worked his socks off as a player for us, scored some crackers and even stepped up to go in nets. All long before the riches came into the game. A harsh sacking ended his management career and I believe he now has a 'normal' job to pay the bulls whilst moonlighting on RL. An honest footballer who has earned the right to say what he thinks. If the club are having a pop at him for pointing out we are a bit shit quite often it is pretty poor!

I supported him whilst he was playing and he was probably my favorite at the time, but I think he's horrendous on the wireless which is unfortunately the main way I get to follow Town these days.
He's more reactionary than the worst knee jerk posters on here.
We can be bossing it and he's saying we're on the front foot and a minute later the opposition score and he'll say it was coming and it was only a matter of time before they scored.
It's not easy but one time you ought to try and listen to the game whilst watching it. I've been able to do this whilst watching the stream and listening to the Town player and it might give you an indication of his reactionary comments.
He very rarely praises any player or performance. IMO he should be balanced in his view, many 'home' commentaries are completely the opposite which I'm glad we don't get.

I get that Hoyle has put £20+ million in over 6 years but that's around 6% of his worth. Haven't we all put a similar amount in? Isn't the average wage around 25k? I bet there's plenty of fans that spend £1500 a year on Huddersfield Town. By the way I am a fan of Hoyle but we all invest what we can into Town and get little in return.

I think you're mixing up your investment with your entrance ticket. You pay your money and get a return be it a match to watch, a shirt or to wear, a beer to drink a pie to eat. I'm quite sure that you can't think that DH will get a similar return on his investment no matter what he is worth. Are you suggesting that young girls are investing in their pop heroes when they attend a concert. With or without YOUR investment the chances are that Ken Davy would still own the club/ground etc. Thankfully the same can't be said for DH's investment.

Time that a lot of 'fans' and in particular some that post on here had a serious reality check and think back to where we were a few years ago under Davy - Dean Hoyle is the best thing that has happened to Town for a long long time - stick with him - and pray that he sticks with us

be honest 17 thousand people saw the goals coming yesterday.. leeds had 3 balls into the box, exactly the same with runners coming from exactly the same positions, on the 4th they scored..
they had 2/3 attacks down the same side and they flooded the area with support and managed a good cross, a chance that they fluffed and finally room to put in the cross they scored from..
neither goal was a surprise to anyone other than the town team and manager..
the general concensus of opinion on the goals from those around me was 'well that was coming'...
Town on the other hand had most of the play, most time in the opposition penalty area and didn't do too much at all..
The general concensus was that we didn't have enough men forward, as usual..
take out the 3 injuries and possibly hogg next week and the team will pick itself.. the subs will be whats left and that is no real way to make progress in this division, no matter what the money is telling us..
