“It is obvious that sitting for the duration of the match is more comfortable than standing. It is also safer. When a spectator is seated he has his own small piece of territory in which he can feel reasonably secure. He will not be in close physical contact with those around him. He will not be jostled or moved about by swaying or surging. Small or in rm or elderly men and women as well as young children are not buffeted, smothered or unsighted by larger and more robust people as on the terraces. The seated spectator is not subject to pressure of numbers behind or around him during the match. He will not be painfully bent double over a crush barrier.”
Taken from the Taylor report. The only thing that safe standing wouldn't stop is being unsighted by larger and more robust people. Ticks all the boxes of the rest. I can see it coming in across the board pretty soon. Problem Town will have is getting the council and uncle Ken to stump up. Not a cat in hells.

I think think we're a long way off even having trials in this country, let alone passing it. safe standing is coming and when it does the fml is where it will be that is why i believe the nsl should be located there

Do you honestly think that KSDL and town are going to take down a temporary stand and build a stand with rail seating? The NSL will not be be going in the FML.

if we're not having rail seating then at least they could replace all those crappy seats which are faded, broken, stuck with 5 reserved stickers on them...stadium looking more and more crap as each year goes by..who's the bloody landlord

Taylor report is wrong, I as a 62 year old am uncomfortable to in pain if I sit at a match, if I stand, can move a little & even jump up and down I am comfortable & have no pain. Everybody will arthritis should be moving to avoid pain (scientific evidence available). I do not want my space or to feel secure, I want to duck & weave to see to match, to be josled & swayed, it is part of the atmosphere of football matches. Taylor could not have said what he said (& therefore being wrong, obviously) if he knew anything about enjoying atmosphere at a football match!

Any chance you can pressure Jarvis/Dean to get their name on the list?

Any chance you can pressure Jarvis/Dean to get their name on the list? Certainly could. I don't believe that town don't want to be on the list. They just haven't signed up for what ever reason. Last season about 70 clubs displayed the 'back the safe standing' campaign banner. Out of the 70 some clubs that had it, only one club would not allow it to be displayed inside the stadium due to the banner not passing safety regulations. Huddersfield town. If we couldn't have a banner inside the stadium, what chance has rail seating any time soon?
