Lets think about this shall we, maybe the club say that because its true? We dont pay massive wages and the likes of rhodes, coady, butts will prob have TRIPLED their wages at least - do you honestly think any of those 3 would have wanted to stay??? they will have known what they would be offered and will have made it clear they want to leave Everyone goes on about player power how players and agents force moves the minute someone offers them more money, yet when it happens here dean is lying and what is your take on the smithies is been sold to further strengthen the squad yet that turns out to be on 2 loans with hiwula included. talks the talk does our deano He's been walking the walk for the last 5+ years He brought in every single player in our team

Someone's just put a pic on Facebook of a snippet of an interview so I don't know who's saying it, but it says we won't be rushed into finding a replacement! Hold the bloody phone we knew this was happening for well over a week. I'm not having that we haven't had time to find someone else. It's a quote from deal in the official announcement: ""We are not going to be rushed into a hurried replacement, we have not done that before. It's important we get it right and that means we all must be patient to get the right man in, just as we have done in the past." Looks like we go with what we've got.

Maybe folk will get off Dean's back now - "as the very first bid came in a few weeks ago, he wanted to leave us there and then. He didn’t want to play for us anymore from then on with immediate effect."Players simply dont care. I always got the feeling that he didn't want to come here in the first place. You are right though, players have little loyalty (not that I blame them really) and you just know that Butterfield is going to disappear without trace at Derby within a year or two. good move financially, no doubt, but footballing wise? It will be Norwich all over again for him.

I don't even know why Town bother having players any more, they all leave in the end.
Look at them, laughing at us from Blackburn and Rotherham and Derby.

dean hoyle - january 2009 "we are not a selling club"
Maybe instead of our old message 'you buy the tickets, we'll buy the players' we should go with 'you buy a ticket if you want, we'll sell the players'

Absolutely 0 point in keeping a player that doesn't want to be here, so the fact we got the best available price is good from Hoyle. The fact we haven't got a replacement yet and have left it to deadline day to find one is very annoying. The club trot out the same sh1te every time we sell a player though.... "As soon as the offer came in, his head was turned, we had to sell him". Pull the other one.

Exactly, fair enough if he's being flogged he's being flogged but don't bull shit the paying fans, i'm sure in our business model it mentions honesty?

Ah the old he didn't want to be here excuse that gets trotted out after we sell someone If you don't want to believe DH then try reading what Butterfield says.... From his Derby interview “ From day one this move really interested me. Once I heard something could potentially happen, I started to look further into it and there is such a talented squad and now that I have actually come down to the Training Centre and seen it, I am surprised at just how impressive it is. “It’s fantastic and this is a top, top club. With that, you can see why this club is one of the favourites for promotion and everything is set up here to be a Premier League club. “It’s quite strange how unlucky the team have been with injuries to the midfield position. I have signed now, though, and I am just itching to firstly get out on the training pitch this week, get to know the lads and prove to them that I can be an asset to the team. “These two-weeks are going to be key to settling in, but I just can’t wait to get into the games now and pull on a Derby shirt. Read more at www.dcfc.co.uk/news/article/jacob-butterfield-everything-about-derby-county-is-impressive-2662143.aspx#O2D2rv1yWIDQwGyJ.99One wonders why DH bothers when he tells it as it is and the clubs supporters believe he is lying and trotting out the same old excuses. Give yer bloody heads a shake Equally, Would the Derby fans be happy if he said "Well, I was very happy at lil ole Hudders, I really didn't want to leave for a club like Derby, but the chairman and his side-kick insisted £5m was too good to turn down so here I am under sufferance" ?

I expect Deans statement was written weeks ago, hence the we wont be rushed into buying but I will be flabbergasted if we don't have a signing other than Patterson to announce today. I really hope we have some good news to deliver, I am an optimist so I am sure there will be.
I don't like the he didn't want to play for us anymore bollocks and hope its not a cover for we haven't signed a replacement, or is Huw the replacement as I posted several days before?

Such as Ward, Dixon etc. It's just smart to get these players off the wage bill surely?

The lad never let us down Just the impression I got over the protracted Clayton to Boro saga. He has probably played the best football of his career for us and it has been enjoyable to watch. That's the problem though - as it is for just about every club - when someone puts in star performances every week, someone else will want him.

We have always been a selling club, but in the last few weeks we've sold, and released, and received a lot of cash, and freed up a lot of wages. Similar in January too. 2015 has been a bit of a clearout. We survived last season despite that. This season hasn't started well but it's early days yet. I'd hope things improved, especially if we can attract quality, value, and have a bit of luck.
