Think this Webber bloke deserves plenty of credit for picking the lad out of Leicester reserves. ( and also for searching out Wagner himself) He is also more notably under the radar than Ross Wilson. What exactly does he do?

Article says Arsenal already had bid turned down before came to us. This lad will go far. Excellent for his age.

I think with this lad we just need to enjoy watching him play while we can because he looks destined for a great football career if he continues in this vein, he looks quality already, even at 18

Let's face it he's good.
And it goes back to the hot topic at the moment... Do Leicester strengthen in January and give it a "real go"? If you do then you will be keeping him.
If you are only at the top of the table for the sightseeing then maybe don't get too excited because he will be gone to Liverpool or arsenal by next season.

So are we scouting for another left back or just go with Davidson/Dempsey for rest of season after Chilwell goes back and look again in summer?

Surely we can loan him again in the new year, if Leicester don't need him.

I'd hope so, maybe they were just keeping their options open with a January cutoff and if they don't think they will need him yet but don't want to sell either we might get rest of season?

Don't Premier League teams have to submit a 25 man squad for the half season, so they'd have to drop someone out in the window to let him in?
Or are youngsters not included in that squad list and can play anytime?

Kids can go in whenever, I think. It was part of the reasoning for bringing the squads in.

Surely we can loan him again in the new year, if Leicester don't need him. The report that I read said that he would be battling for a first team place at Leicester. Tough fight though as they already have a very decent left back - Fuchs I think - and also Schlupp. So there could be an outside chance that they will loan him for the rest of the season.

I hope we get him back, Leicester will have a recall clause anyway you'd think, if they got injuries to their 1st team players..so why not let the lad play with us, he'll be match fit if needed at the King Prawn whatever... I would add though, that we really do need to have our 'own' players and not so reliant on loanees and the whims of other clubs..

I doubt Leicester will be wanting to blood a rooky if they are still in with a shout of things and they already have cover. Let's pray they keep winning.

Telegraph have him returning:
"Ranieri has suffered one slice of misfortune, however, after it emerged that Jeff Schlupp had torn his hamstring and could miss the next two months. The defender picked up the injury in training on Saturday and is on crutches, with Ranieri writing him out of his plans for a minimum of six weeks. The Ghana international’s injury means that Leicester will recall Ben Chilwell, the English 18-year-old who has been impressive on loan at Huddersfield. The highly rated left-back has been scouted by Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks and will return to Leicester at the start of next month as back-up for Christian Fuchs."

Could have been worse, at least the transfer window will be open. Doesn't that mean he'll be good my back immediately? Leaving us with Davidson as the only left back for another 4 or 5 games minimum.

There was a feature on sky sports last night on Leicester and their cryogenic chamber and schlupp said it was just a strain and that it was touch and go for the weekend

Would Leicester not opt for Konchesky over Chilwell if it comes to it anyway?

Would Leicester not opt for Konchesky over Chilwell if it comes to it anyway? Is he on loan somewhere - sure I've seen him on the box recently if not live - QPR?
