Why ? Its a hometown team that share our ground. Lots of lubbly local interest. Used to have time for them until good old uncle Ken screwed my football club over. I know a few giants fans who just love getting digs in about town and slagging Hoyle off so for me it is happy times at the minute to see them struggling. Sad I know but I just don't care! If you are from Huddersfield then yes, it is sad. You should be proud of any team carrying the Huddersfield name. If not, then fair enough - your only affinity to the town is through the football team. The Huddersfield hating does get a bit tiresome though.

The fact that this thread is 6 pages long suggests there is interest in discussing the Giants among Town fans. If you don't want to read it then just ignore the thread in the same way I probably would ignore threads about rugby teams from Dewsbury, Batley, Wakey, etc. It's easy.

Playing now at hull, can they win ? They're losing aren't they? What's the craic in Super League, can they get relegated? If so, I might go just to see em drop out of the division.

Yes can go down. Lost the game now , poor old uncle Ken. They won't go down. To be in with a chance of that happening they would need to finish in bottom 4 this season then also lose in the middle 8's against some part timers from the Championship. Not going to happen

Wakey were awful last season but still got a reprieve against Bradford in the play-off game. Leigh were the best side in last season's Championship by a mile, yet still managed to properly balls up the Qualifiers. Giants won't go down.

Can see a coach being relieved of his duties shortly, despite many of the losses this season being fine margins...

Can see a coach being relieved of his duties shortly, despite many of the losses this season being fine margins... And its not going to get any easier for them. Warrington up next. Lose that - and they probably will - and I think it'll be curtains for Anderson. A shame because he's had alot of success over the past few years, but something is not right at the moment. A change of coach might be what they need.

But what would happen if they did go down. Would dear old Ken walk away? Don't dismiss this until it has not happened.

Can see a coach being relieved of his duties shortly, despite many of the losses this season being fine margins... Tony Smith is out of contract at the end of the season, they want him as the next coach. Can see Anderson staying put this season and then going at the end and Smith coming in. Certain players don't want Anderson there and are kicking up a fuss about it

Though RL isn't my sport, and I knew nothing about it until high school, I generally had a soft spot for Fartown until Davy shafted us over the stadium shares. Since I've moved out to Batley they're the team I look out for first. Have an intense dislike for Warrington based on the behaviour of some of their fans at Wembley. Even Millwall would wince at that...
Anyone else read this thread title and hear that "Here Comes The Hotstepper" song from back in the late 1990s in their head?

Is this a good omen for Town? I hope so.
Just a pity that the Rhinos also won leaving the Giants still bottom.
