If i wasn’t so flat i’d be well up for this game. Cheering Ipswich almost as much as if Town were playing. As it is i’m not arsed. Leeds not going up is no consolation. This is how bad the season is. This is what I’ve become. Reduced to a minute amount of schadenfreude because our own club has been a shambles for years. Leeds losing in the playoffs, Bradford failing to get a playoff, Birmingham (Pritchard) being relegated, Liverpool blowing up in Klopp and the media’s grand finale, Peterborough losing in the playoffs, Forest going down, no Premier League clubs left in Europe after finally destroying the FA Cup. Am I bitter? Too fucking right I am!

Not being involved in a relegation battle would be a novelty. I think there’s a lot of decent sides in League 1. I’m hoping we can improve the squad and be mid-table.

AB was brought in by Kevin Nagle, Edwards & Cartwrong had no say on it. They wanted Duff. I’m sorry, but that’s just not true. It’s interesting after the previous however many pages speculating on AB leaving that that’s the post you’ve stated isn’t true.

Have people forgotten Pritchard plays for Birmingham?! After forcing a move from Sunderland. It would be hilarious, plus I hate their fans.

I’m still too angry to ask any sensible questions about the footballing side of things without resorting to abuse so … It’s been widely acknowledged that our commercial revenue has been poor. How do we rectify that? Are there sponsorship deals I place, new merchandising plans? How has relegation affected that potential revenue?

The worrying thing is most fans could see we were in massive trouble with the quality of our squad, no strikers and no midfielder who can dictate play. Warnock was the only person probably capable of getting a tune out of them and, even then, maybe not over a full season. Not many people would have chosen Darren Moore or claimed it suited our attacking ideas (still without a striker). This isn’t hindsight either. But, the people in charge of running the club arrogantly laughed it off and thought they knew best. When we finally did make some signings they made zero impact. The result is a relegation that could set us back a decade.

Mentioned this in a different thread but you know just it's going to be another disaster and we'll be sacking another manager after 6 games and blaming a poor pre season all season. We can't wait til next week. In the spirit of me learning, would you mind explaining the difference between now and next week? I honestly would like to know. Thank you. He does realise what a monumental fuck up it’s been I hope? It doesn’t matter if the realisation is this week or next to me, as long as it’s acknowledged and there’s a plan to rectify it.

Whoever loses in the playoffs, whoever else comes down, Wrexham, Wigan, Blackpool, Lincoln and probably a surprise (Stevenage, our old friend Nathan Jones’ Charlton?) will all be strong sides. Definitely not going to be easy. If we don’t strengthen significantly, we could find ourselves mid-table at best. It’s bloody depressing.

I expect he’ll be processing it all, talking to certain members of staff and then he’ll probably have plenty to say. Hopefully backed up with actions. Some heads rolling (I mean those at the top who he entrusted with running the club as opposed to any cost-cutting with the hard-working club staff).

You’ve missed Thomas. He’ll probably be off to Real Madrid, I should imagine. They’ve lacked a dead ball specialist since the days of Beckham and Roberto Carlos.

At least it’s a first for Dave. He’d never seen his mate fail before! Well, he couldn’t have fucked it up more. Absolute self-sabotage. The people who told him the players were capable of playing at this level should be out by Monday for a start. It’s a long term project in fairness. It wasn’t 1 year and call it a day was it, plenty of time to be successful here. Yes, I hope you’re right, but not exactly going to plan is it? Three years to get into the Premier League. First year relegated to the third tier.

I know you hate him, but what he got out of those players was pretty impressive. Look at the squad that season, not many have played higher and a lot have moved down a division. Thing is, I've never said otherwise. I've always said he made us solid after that first season and he found a way to win, and while it wasn't pretty in the slightest, he made it work. Me thinking he's a c*** is a completely different discussion. But to finish third with those players was incredible. It’s the relegation fodder of every other season. He was pissed off at the backing and who can blame him for that?

Relegation is never a good thing. People said the same when we were relegated from the Premier League or when we were previously relegated from this level. That we’d win most matches and bounce back. But it’s never happened. The current squad is mid-table League 1 at best. Perhaps some folk will start to realise how good Corberan was at some stage. Corberan is a better manager than most of those that followed him, but it's not difficult is it? I know you hate him, but what he got out of those players was pretty impressive. Look at the squad that season, not many have played higher and a lot have moved down a division.

Need to change your name to oneneilwarnockwinker. I know you're upset. You probably cried your way home from the offie when Colin got sacked and like most of us luddites, you can't let it go. You will have to move on eventually. It will be better for your health. I don’t actually care about Warnock at this point, there’s no longevity to Warnock but sacking him when they did was just amateur at the very best. You either give him the full season with the squad of players he’s constructed who let’s be honest are very Warnock players or you don’t bother giving him the job in the first place. We (the fans) have paid the price for terrible decisions either way. Some town fans seem not fussed about relegation, yes I’m absolutely gutted, maybe league one and a full reset will do the club some good but I’m not sure relegation is ever a good thing but time will tell. Relegation is never a good thing. People said the same when we were relegated from the Premier League or when we were previously relegated from this level. That we’d win most matches and bounce back. As I said, he's weak. Pretty much his only job is to set the standards of professionalism and attitude. His only job? You think THAT is ‘pretty much his only job’? Nothing to do with weakness either. His job is to win football matches. He hasn’t been able to bring in his players, who can set standards. It’s well-known this squad lacks leaders. He’s stuck with what he has, he can’t use dropping players as a weapon for control like others, because he hasn’t got options. He’s the teacher given an unruly class after Easter. You need the next school year to get that class up to scratch as habits are set in at this point. Go in too hard and you alienate. You just have to manage until you get the chance to put a stamp on it. No, this is the players. They should be in front of the staff on Monday, explaining themselves to the people they may have cost jobs and livelihoods. And not being allowed to leave until every member of staff has spoken about their lives and how this could affect them. Agreed. But I doubt most of them care. They’re onto their agents, booking an holiday to Dubai and eyeing up a new white Range Rover.

Some of these players are in for a massive shock. Apart from Helik, none of the others will get a decent (top half) Championship club interested in them. Possibly Rudoni for his attitude and still young, willing to work hard and learn. They’ve been a disgrace.

The only positive is that one day we will all be dead and not have to suffer supporting this shower any more. Curses upon my parents, parents’ parents, etc. and being a victim of geography in terms of birthplace and growing up. Knowing my luck I’ll be reincarnated as a fucking terrier. 😆
Nope, it’s hopeless. C’mon Town, give us one last glimmer of hope today! 🙏🏻

Kids having fun what's the problem. Maybe one day they'll become ultras More likely be scarred for life. It’s not going to be a pleasant afternoon if things go askew… Football must be oh so different in the States. Like going to the pictures or something. I think that there’s a cultural difference definitely. Over there, it’s entertainment, an enjoyable day out whatever the result, go with the family, have some food and drink, see people sing and dance, paint your face, clap along. Whereas the result is everything to us and nothing can sugarcoat it or make that better.

Without reading the previous 7 or 8 pages, we must have the most patient and least toxic fans in the country. Over the last 10 years, we’ve let in the most goals, lost the most matches (think we were third last I saw behind Birmingham and QPR) and had the biggest wankers playing for us! The fact there hasn’t been a riot and attendances have remained decent is a credit to Town supporters. It’s been shite for a long time. I left the area 15 years ago and average 5/6 games a season and have seen 12 wins. I’d like to think I’d just been unlucky, but that’s probably not too bad compared to everyone else. Town fans are the last to blame here and will be around long after the parasites and phoneys have gone.

So would you rather he not step in and the club go bust? 🤔 Dean was looking after his own self interests not the clubs. He chose Phil as he was the only clown that would agree terms to his dodgy deal. Covid stopped that in its tracks. He had no choice but to step in, he still owned a percentage of the club. Again, when he could have sold it on he chose to keep it as he saw the potential Prem £££. And when that backfired he was back to letting the club rot. He could have got some of his coin back but in the end his own greed cost him. I think he might have sold to Marcus Evans, but then when we got to the playoff final gambled on us going up. Not sure how close that deal ever was. The Hodgkinson “sale” was certainly ruled by self-interest rather than the future of the club.

He’s been the best player on the pitch. No wonder you’re happy watching Bratfud if you don’t like football! 1. The comment was after 20 minutes. 2. He’ll be getting motm then if he’s been the best player.. A Sky pundit giving MOTM to someone when a player has scored two goals? We both know that’s not happening. I always respect your opinions Bilo, just a lighthearted dig.

Am I the only one thinking O’Brien’s had a good game that half? Seems to be a lot going through him, driving Boro forward. Obviously, his passing and shooting have never been his strongest points, but Hoyle slagging him off and claiming they’d replaced him with better is up there for stupid statements with … well, take your pick. When did he say that and/or slag him off? He always loved playing up to his fanboys about having other clubs’ “pants down”. It was the reason LOB refused to come back on loan to us.
