You reap what you sow
Last night not only demonstrated the gulf in class on the pitch but off it too . There couldn't be a bigger difference between how they are run and we have been.
Good luck with the ST sales everyine. The players we would want to see retained will likely be sold and if we do survive it will be another season of struggle and a relegation battle . Were used to it now mind but it doesn't make it right.
The club and the happy clappy rose tinted lot should publish the Huddersfield Town book of excuses. A million and one reasons to be crap.

"It's about time the whol;e team got bloody annoyed , manned up and got stuck in..." And on that note I notice that Pritchard has "a slight knock" and isn't available for tonight. Part of me is pleased because he has shown no willingness whatsoever to play for my team, and part of me is furious - there surely is a case for him being the worst player ever signed by the club, bearing in mind the fee and his weekly wages. Absolutely ridiculous. So Pritchard is “injured” once again! 😆 What an absolute waste of space, I don’t know how he dare call himself a pro footballer. Same shit different day

What if he is just pragmatic & says, it's football, we can't all win, someone has to lose some of the time. A little patience may see things turned around & next season we may compete quite well. In the meantime he speaks a few home truths, those who think they are entitled to my families money can fuck right off, it's non of their business!
yes I think he might be quite entitled to say that, especially as he could add we all saw 2 seasons of PL football which we never exepected to get...but the only point I would add is DH made a big point of saying how big a Town fan he was (ie one of us)..and he also told us he didn't expect to get any of his investment back...Now that led a lot of us to think he was a top bloke, pouring all his own money in , living the dream of owning the club he loves etc etc..This is part of the reason for the fans 'adoration' of DH, the message he gave us..?
He also told us , several times, that if the 'right deal for the club' was made he was prepared to sell..he made the point that he would never sell unless it was the best deal for HTAFC, he wanted to protect the club..secure the future, keep the legacy...etc.. He told us there had been 'worldwide interest' in buying the club...he had rejected some 'good' offers because it 'wasn't the right deal for the club'. As fans, we soaked that up and it added to his 'good guy' reputation..here he was declining £ms for the club because the buyer wasn't right.. I think most of us thought when he sold , the buyer would pay DH and he'd recoup his investment that way, and the new owners would then invest in the club.. Nobody had a problem with that, and that was where we thought we were going...add that new investment to the parachute monies and we'd have a strong chance of competing again for the PL... We'd have a lasting legacy of our PL years, we'd be strong, have a good squad, be a top Championship side...so relegation from the PL was mitigated as we still saw a bright future.. The way it has worked out is nothing like the above, nothing like the messages we were given...it feels like not only were we lied to, but we have been badly betrayed. it's against that background that the fans are angry ...and I can fully empathise with that.
Absolutely explains the bad feeling perfectly

The evidence was always there to see once Lee Clark had been dispensed with and Championship football was achieved We were kept ticking over with minimal investment, star players constantly sold and the team always rebuilding propped up with loanees. We never established ourselves in that division and got lucky with Wagner not requiring millions spent. I called it right before and for me the club can go to hell if we are relegated. We the fans have faced constant relegation battles season after season and all the club do is apply a band aid.

At the end of the day our club always had excuses as to why they could not compete. We couldn't compete with teams that had much higher attendances We couldn't compete with teams with parachute payments We couldn't compete because of ffp
Well we won the biggest financial.prize in football, we had hugely improved gate receipts and attendances, we've had parachute payments and look where we are.
A great coach and a set of players that far too many are not fit for purpose.
Nobody is bigger than the club we were told over and over as we constantly sold our best players . Well the chairirmen and their self interests were certainly bigger as they put their deal before what was best for the club.
So relegation now beckons a team with five strikers that can't score and a defence as fragile as tissue paper that continues to give away comedy goals .
I really can't wait to hear the noise coming out of the place when we're back to crowds around 10k .
Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the actions of our club and the level of dissapointment it brings.
Phil is playing a very dangerous game as I genuinely believe that if we are relegated too many of us will be too numb to care anymore.

I like what Carlos is doing, you've got to give him credit for turning things around and I've no problem with all the changes he made for Bnmouth either. Where he slipped up was having them try and play the same way, too many of them are not good enough yet to do that and looking at some of em it will be a miracle if they ever are. They should have said let's park the bus and see if we can pinch a goal late on. That in my eyes was the slip up

Shambolic running of the club, beyond amateurish. Real and present danger the club are going to lose thousands of fans and then we truly can be little old Huddersfield working class club and those running the show can breath easy as they will be back where they belong running a third division club and kidding the fans on they have ambition

Steerman after making that backpass had the look of Jim Carey from the Truemam show when he realises he will never leave town
Altogether same old same old and im afraid it will be until a new owner comes in with both money and ambition.

How can you post that with a (presumably) straight face? Campbell and Mounié don't score, Grant is off, Ward is an unknown and Harratt / Obiero have very very very limited first team experience. We're still in desperate need of goals imo I wasn't looking at it from our perspective, it was how a young lad looking for a loan move may view it. I think we will get goals from a lot of different players under the new system. Relying on one player for yours goals is not good. We will have plenty of shoot on sight options this season I think. We have seen that so far with the number of scorers in the friendlies. Wadsworth team won all the friendlies too

As others have eluded to its all very underwhelming and on the face of it sub standard. Sure C.C. might mold us into something more entertaining to watch and we should all give him a chance but this is far from what is normally seen at a relegated club with parachute payments and reminds me of the time Wadseorth wS brought in. The club are in real danger of losing a hell of alot of fans as a we all get used to not going to footy through covid and if results are also bad some might think why bother. The fan base and loyalty of that base to put up with relegation fights year on year out will take its toll and quite frankly I think we deserve better for the attendances they have enjoyed.

Well i've had enough . Relegation and thats me done. Im not watching anymore sideways backwards and clueless feckers anymore. The club have proved themselves lacking in ability from top to bottom. I hope with all my heart we survive but i said on radio leeds and on here i think that whoever got the job after the p.e. teacher had an impossible task with the players we had. Failure is in the blood , the Cowleys have done well getting some good performances out of them and good results along the way but the corner twas never turned they just revert to type. Forwards who dare not try and beat a man or shoot on site, midfielders who couldnt pass forward to save their life and kitten soft defenders . Well if they cant be arsed and its clear the club had no know how or acumen then fuck em they are not worth supporting. It wont be long now before the club are moaning about gates and "we cant compete" all the same shit we have heard before, and it wont be our fault as fans who have backed in full force ,but all of their own making.

Im sorry but think were fooked
The manager does not seem to know who the good players are or why would he keep picking the passengers? He does not pick a team that offers an actual goal threat. He sounds like he genuinely cares and credit to him for that , but i think there are too many poor players, too many losing mentalities and too many powder puff players, that dont help his selection process. We'd struggle to fight our way out of a paper bag!
Ive watched us for over fourty years but im not watching L1 football again because this is SELF INFLICTED and the club needs to learn lessons. It needs to learn that when you finally are playing to full stadiums you dont mug the fans off. As its been said before we had the golden ticket and wiped our arse with it. You reap what you sow !

Didnt think we looked too bad. Miles better than last week anyway. Should have had a pen. Schindler looks way off the pace to me. A few times he looked very sloppy and his attempt to stop the cross for the goal was piss poor. Better performance than last week yes..for sure ! but still toothless up front and i thought Lossl should have done better for the goal too

Im sorry but that selection hardly inspires confidence. Big loss not having Mounie available but we then reduce our firepoer further dropping baccuna and ESR. I have no faith in that Hobit Pritchard whatsoever . Hes done practically nothing since joining the club. Hope im wrong and its a winning combination and a performance to be proud of, god knows we need one!

Absolute crap that from all concerned . We are still seeing the ball going back through lack of options and a lack of fight and urgency. Back in the relegation fight with a team that turns up and fights when it can be bothered. Not good enough and quite frankly it's gone on too long this toothless terrier job. If we stay up it will be by virtue that there are 3 teams shitter than us but somehow I cant see that now.

Taking it back quickly it would have gone already, not spread over three years and a not inconsiderable amount over god knows how long. Taking it back at all is what seems to have upset some people. Suppose instead he arranged to take it back over ten years would that be ok? In say five years we're struggling yet the annual £5 million is going out how would they feel then. Nailed it. Just so we are clear . Im not aginst DH getting his money back BUT the method of how that is happening. He should have recovered his dues with the purchase price of the club on the sale of the club. Its as simple as that I cannot think of another example that comes close as to whats going on. What is happening now IMO is a blatant misuse of those funds designed to keep clubs ticking over financially and not facing hardship after relegation. Quite frankly its something you'd have expected to see at Leeds a few years ago. The new chairmen heads up a legal firm there would have been nothing stopping the two of them coming up with an arragement where DH was repaid but with a little less urgency and less damaging than the current plan. So yes a longer timespan would have been more pallitable.

Not in the fan's minds it wasnt. It might have been in his but i cant recall him ever stating the money he was using to propp us up finance cheaper ST's etc was only a loan. I would argue it only became so with the oppurtunity of getting it back by ensuring we were relegated. He had made it plain they were loans i'm sure at Q&As over the years, but he also made it plain unless we were promoted it was unlikely he would get them back. To say he deliberately relegated us is preposterous. Why is it preposterous? He didnt relegate us the crap manager and the players did that but he did nothing to stop the slide. No change of manager when ones with track records of keeping teams up were available . You cant argue that the Parachute payments were integral to the plan of getting his money back

Dean is entitled to get his money back if he want's it as it was always a Loan........However, what frustrates me is why he needs to take it back so quickly. He Loaned the money to the club over a 9-10 year period, as required. Why is it necessary for him to get the majority of it back in a 3-4 year period. This is what is leaving the club slightly hamstrung. Not in the fan's minds it wasnt. It might have been in his but i cant recall him ever stating the money he was using to propp us up finance cheaper ST's etc was only a loan. I would argue it only became so with the oppurtunity of getting it back by ensuring we were relegated.

I remember at the time under Powell of him forcing the sale of Smithies and Butterfield feeling very sceptical about DH. I posted on here a thread entitled You have all been deceived. Any Chairman who is a fan wants to build something for the club so i asked why we constantly sold our best players and never looked to build on the good we already had. I was shot down and DH was King couldnt do no wrong and of course Wagner followed and the good times came. What he should have done if he was a fan was get an experienced PL manager who could have kept us up. But getting his money back was the priority and relegation was needed for that wasnt it, hence why we made no effort at all to stay up. Yes he was very ill his condition is a painfully crippling one but he was still well enough to conduct business from his hospital bed and could have arrested the decline . It truly stinks.

Apologised for being downbeat but It’s worse than I thought to be honest Future parachute payments already borrowed against, a huge pile of debt still owed to DH and a squad that’s crumbled in value with many sat on fat contracts no sane club would replicate I don’t know what the long term plan is because I don’t see PH having the pockets to bleed £5m plus a year like DH did so expect us to either rack up debt or run one of the smallest budgets in the league within 12 months Can’t see us being anything but relegation strugglers in future seasons and it’s such a shame given two years in the top flight Exactly! But we should be fine . Its a total misuse of parachute payments and puts our future at major risk. Hoyle is doing this. He may deserve some or all of his money back but that should have been provided to him at least in part with the purchase price with the sale of the club. Its two fingers up to fans who always believed we just needed a break to be a decent side again.

Me and Coddington went by train for the day and caused quite a stir being the only ones with clappers, Otium managed a seat next to his Majesty in the Royal Box having flown in via Zeppelin ballon, so that's at least three of us. His Majesty managed a seat next to Otium. Get it right. Was that the Nazi sympathising King or his brother who became king ?

How on earth are we so far behind Leeds after earning £300m over the past three years ... Leeds turnover won't have been a third of that in the same period I don’t blame the players on the pitch - most came in this season and are lower league championship quality trying their best. Our best player is out of the academy! £300m and we can’t even field anything better than a bottom 6 championship side! Because those in charge of the club havent a clue and were far outside their comfort zone

We are only talking about this because the way the takeover has been done. In a normal takeover i dont think it would be unreasonable to suggest that the buyer of the club pays the going rate for the club and that includes paying off the debts. Its the almost shifty way things have been done with how the deal has been done with no transparency and the net result of leaving us in a disadvantaged position that is the problem, right at a time when we needed the cushion of those parachute payments. Should DH have his money back despite never calling his input a loan? ... yes hes entitled and deserving of it but not in a way that effectively gambles with our status in the division. I have heard many times how we didnt want a rich powerful foreign investor both from the club and some fans. I would have to ask given whats happened isnt that a mistake? The deal thats been cooked up may suit PH and DH it clearly wasnt the best deal for Huddersfield Town F.C. or its fans. That depends on the foreign investor. Were there any interested? Can't sell to one if there aren;t any to sell to. Were they any good? Blackburn landed theirs, Bradford, Charlton etc.. their fans don;t seem that thrilled with their rich foreign investors. Better for the fans? Might be, might not be, but Id bet my bottom dollar the first thing any foreign investor would do would be to question why our fans pay half what all the fans of other clubs pay for the season tickets. The reaction on here would be interesting to say the least when season cards are suddenly £500 next season. Even if DH took back every single quid hes put into the club ( and again no one knows any of the details of this at all- its all pure uninformed guesswork and assumption ) he'd still have made no money at all. As far as investments go it would be regarded as a total disaster by any and all his financial advisors who would point out he could have made many millions just with a simple low risk investment of that money elsewhere. A foreign investor is just that.. an investor. Theyre in it to take out of the club more money than they put into it.. a lot more ideally from their point of view. Sure you make a valid point ....there have been some bad owners both foreign and domestic ,but there have been some brilliant ones too ,who have totally transformed clubs. What you are defending is living in Fear and this collective of smallmindedness (and im sorry i cant find a kinder adjective) that seems to encapsulate the club. Take the current strap line "Working class club" 2 mins since we were "The Yorkshire Club" but now we are skint i suppose the cap fits. Captain as far as im aware DH has retained a 25% share in the club and does he still own canalside or just 25% of it ? Wont his 25% entitle him to a pro rata share on future income/profit ?

I maybe in a minority here but I renewed my season tkt again this season but have only been to a handful of games which has led me to question will I renew for next season, The answer for me is no I won't after having a season tkt for over twenty years the last season in PL and this season has made me realise I have seen all that Town have to offer and for me it's enough. From division one to league Two and promotions all the way to the top table and back down again has kind of killed the excitement for me. After more or less taking this season off I really don't have the enthusiasm to renew plus we seem to have gone from a well run ship to a disorganised mess even under hoylea leadership we were losing DOF on a regular basis towards the end of his ownership, I will always follow Town's results but my weekends seem alot more relaxed and cheerful without the drama of attending the football, iam sure I won't be missed but another tkt/seat is available in the south stand, just wondering if anyone else is contemplating the same as me and deciding to take time out. I know exactly where you are coming from. The club have proved themselves to be inept in every department and threw away their big chance to be somebody. All the years of watching us the majority in L1 i believed we just needed a break. We were almost indoctrinated to believe what a struggle it was for us to be a bigger player when other teams had bigger crowds or parachute payments. They totally IMO betrayed the fans showing no ambition in the second PL season to stop the rot. Many of us the fans believed we were holding back for a war chest to come straight back up. But no because suddenly the messiah wanted his money back because suddenly he wasnt financing us it was all just a loan. So no I am not blindly going to renew in the special offer period especially with a double relegation threatening. If we stay in this division i will wait and see who we sign in the summer and then just like the club i will make an economic decision. 40 odd years of watching us brings me to the same point in that i too think ive seen the best the club can do or offer. And yes i really am that pissed off with them.

I seem to recall that the last time we were relegated from this division that the majority thought we had enough to stay up. There was acruel set of unexpected results that day that saw us relegated and nothings changed in the Championship in that way in that the bottome teams always manage unexpected wins like yesterday.
We have only ourselves to blame. Wigan away for example ripe for the taking a no show from us and settled for the point instead of going for it. And its happened in countless games this season. The current trait is not starting well enough but that was hardly surprising given an absolute lack of threat in the starting 11. Toothless Terriers star again ! The Cowleys dont seem to learn lessons. We dont have enough goals in the team unless you play the attacking players. Hogg never scores. Centre backs rarely score. Simpson never scores. O'brien now and again , Baccuna free scoring no longer scores. Kerchunga shouldnt even be in the squad.

I don’t think any blame can go to PH for the situation now. He got the manager we wanted and brought in all they asked for in January. It’s time a Cowley started getting a tune out of the squad he’s assembled. At the minute we’re back to team selection seemingly done via bingo machine and tactics being non-existent. i wanted Chris Euton ( may have spelled it wrong i know) old Brighton manager who had a point to prove
