Aye it feels like we are the only club to get relegated with a worse team than what we were promoted with. Incompetence all round !

We the fans were always told we can't compete with the parachute payment clubs in this division, and now we are one of them the new owner at the start of the season eluded to the same thing. DH always said he didnt think he'd ever see his money back but bingo he got that in one at a time when were on our arse. The club has enjoyed tremendous backing from the fans season tickets attendances etc and I just feel that having thrown away our golden ticket by those who were in charge we all need something positive to lokk forward to . The aim should be to have another go with lessons learned .

Can't understand how kongolo can't get in at either centre back or left back after no club gas worked so hard in training during this international break. Protecting a saleable asset? Or just gash in training like he was at Preston? Very odd as he's a quality player

I think I know whats going on here !!. Deano is going to buy Thomas Cook with the PL money and send us all on a free holiday, because Christ knows we need one turning up to watch the same old shite week in week out. Look good at nil nil, unlucky with a final pass or two, maybe the odd minor goal mouth bit of action, go one nil down and collapse game over. And repeat Ground hog day.! I wont be attending L1 matches as I've said previously, and neither will my lads when the club has thrown away its one golden chance. The club got the crowds they could only dream of back, a brilliant feel good factor and an identity and chucked it in the bin. Let them get on with it. All I have ever heard from that club of hours is " we cant compete" We couldn't compete with clubs with parachute money back in championship ,but now we have it, mysteriously its all gone !!! Said before the phrase should be in latin on the club badge. The real truth is almost nobody gives a toss who owes who what how much the debt or the balance is, IF WE ARE ENTERATINING AND WINNING MATCHES. The huge problem for those running the club is that a couple of players doesn't solve this. I doubt a better mental attitude will. Flo could go out as determined as can be but he will still be SHIT at defending as long as he has a hole in his arse. But going back to the O.P. I CAN NEVER RECALL ANYONE PRE PREMIER LEAGUE EITHER AT THE CLUB OR ON HERE STATING THE MONEY DH IS PUTTING IN IS ONLY A LOAN. Here he is. Only turns up on datm when we are shit on the pitch but only turns up to the ground when we are decent on the pitch. The club, will be so much better off without fans like you and your lads if that’s the case. I hope you enjoyed your PL experience, if you’re missing it just head off to watch Man City, I hear they’re quite entertaining to watch. I won’t be joining you though, my calf has my on it permanently and that doesn’t rub off when times are tough. My arm holds my PERMANENT Ben AND tOWN WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART but in my head there is something called a brain. Now my brain tells me that for the 40 years i watched Town before the PL and there are some pretty shit times Ben in that 40 years that one day we would make it. We would have a full stadium, we wouldnt need to sell our best player and that those running the club wouldnt saddle us with incredibly bad decisions as history as shown they have consistently done. Enjoy L1 if we are relegated you can buy your ST in March. I wont be. I wont be going to Man city either .

All the players that played consistently in the premiership who are still with us are affected by a mindset caused by consistently losing. Even those we as fans judged as the better players amongst them have lost something from their game. If i were in charge as much a possible i would look to those players like stankovic and kerchunga who did not play much of a part in that relegation. I'm sure the Cowleys will do what they can and we will have to wait and see if they can turn it around. If and when they do thats the time to stop the moaning.
What i find pretty amazing on here is the level of tolerance for shite. We are not allowed to criticise the board , we are not allowed to ask why we have no money and now we musnt criticise the players or individuls...because that makes you a better fan than the rest of us who are depressed beyond tablets with it all.
Bravo the DATM tolerance squad !!

Had we survived in the PL don't think there would have been a whimper about DH taking money back. We got relegated we cant win a match and all sorts needs addressing so its the timing given our circumstances. Once again another masterpiece of decision making from Huddersfield Town.

Excellent interview and yes agree with the consensus hopefully we can press the reset button and move on from the mind set of doubt about him.
However and this is not having a pot at him its just my personal opinion...
When talking about signings and expenditure he stated he would rather sign five two million pound players than one ten million pound player because and i paraphrase a bit here it was a question of minnimising risks !!! I.E. Three of the five 2 million pound players could develop and become saleable assetts whereas it would be fifty fifty with the single ten million player as to whether he performs and increases in value.
I personally think there has to be a bit of both. In the PL had we have had that one game changing player that even many of our rivals had at at the lower end of the table things could have been so different. Taking that philosophy to what the team needs the issues at full back , i would much rather of seen the money spent on RB and JK and the german full back wages all going towards a quality ready for the here and now full back who can consistently perform. The Cowleys are going to have to work miracles because whatever is wrong with us is deep rooted and engrained in that team. Their appointment is i think on reflection the right one having listened to the podcast and lets hope we can all see whatever the result sunday a change in the players for the better.

The Root cause
Some could point at the fact that we had achieved promotion to the PL UNEXPECTEDLY. i.e. We had not built over several years a full squad of capable players. We even managed it with a negative goal difference ! The attempt to address that SM and LDP did not work and then no further attempt was made. You could point at Wagner for single handedly dismantling the Terrier spirit putting out an 11 with only 2 attackers in it. You might even blame the board for not intervening at this stage to ask why the we fear no foe attitude was dropped after all it wasn't getting results. You could say that whilst DH was in hospital with a focus on selling the club, those left in charge made a right pigs ear of it and proved unfit for purpose. Indeed you could say that everyone in charge at Town had no idea at all how to cope in the PL and when that is coupled with the small minded attitude of just being little old Huddersfield we were already destined to fail. You could blame the diahkby and mnbenza fiasco and equally the person responsible for bringing the here. We could have had a class striker with money these two cost !! You could say making no attempt to sign players in the Jan window signalled to those players trying their best to keep us up the club don't care why should we? After all we have seen that before when Marcus stewart was sold. Or you could take the overall view that actually we are just TINPOT the club have proved it in some style and really do belong in L1.

I have never felt more pissed off or more angry at the Club than I do now.
Forty odd years watching us finally achieve Premiership status only for it to be given up like nobody cared a toss . The very least expectation of relegation should see us as others have pointed out "been set up to be a solid Championship club for years to come"
Huge difference of putting up with lower division football knowing you haven't a pot to piss in and this shit fest right now. What a way to reward the fans and totally scupper the increased fan base we gained. It really is so bad you couldn't make it up. Those running the club since the start of the second PL season have bottled it, and proved themselves totally inept. The biggest thing for me was when we made no siginings in the Jan window i.e. no attempt to stay in the Premiership 99.9 % thought we were keeping the funds for the Championship! To see us sign L2 AND NON LEAGUE PLAYERS TAKES THE PISS!!! I WILL NOT BE A ST AT THIS CLUB IN LEAGUE 1 where I suspect everybody running the show would be far more comfortable not after wasting our GOLDEN TICKET . ******************************************************************************RANT OVER****************************************************************************

Both need dropping but there are are other players costing us week in week out who need dropping too. That failure to thrive limp excuse of a full back Florence and the equally useless Pritchard. I don't mean to the bench either I mean stop playing them none of them bring anything to the table at all. And I hope they read this post because week in week out they cost us.

I think its fair to say that the club has managed to lift the spirits of the fans after last season. Whether the players remain mentally scarred or not we will have to wait and see. What would undo the feel good factor would be to lose one of our star players so late into the window or in the European window. IMO No effort at all was made by the club to save us from relegation. I want to see every effort made for this season to be a good season. Im not expecting promotion but a finish that sees us in or around the play offs would be just what the doctor ordered. I think with the fantastic backing from us the fans we have every chance . Lets hope this season we have that little bit of luck and a few fairer refs too!

Well with the quality of the signings so far we are certainly making great strides to recover our terrier identity of underdogs. I really hope it comes off but I just think with the money we have which could purchase proven players we never have a better chance to return to the premier league than we do now. Why is the budget so tight ? We kept our powder dry last Jan and parachute payments on top I expected more proven players not necessarily high transfer fees but quality on free transfers or reduced sums say with players with deals running out. Spending is no guarantee I know but this all comes across as a bit foolish to me with too much hope and faith in young inexperienced players at the level we will be at.

If DH was right when he said we'd need to sell players first before we buy this could mean we don't do any dealings until the last day or so of the window. needing to offload, clubs will bide their time with us while our targets are snapped up by clubs with the cash all ready to hand..Could be a very frustrating time for us with either little activity or recruits coming in with only a week to get settled before the season starts... Did someone ask DH why that was the case? Obviously without knowing exact details, on the face of it we are about to lose a few players whos contracts have ended...players on big prem division salaries like Lossl, depoitre, Zanka. We are going down with the guaranteed income of parachute payments.. something like £45m in this first season. Our existing squad are all about to take a big drop in the wages due to their relegation clauses. Weve practically just sold out the stadium in season card holders. None of that suggests we should be needing to sell before we can buy, unless theres something obvious Im missing. Did he mean we need to find out how much we're getting for players we sell, before we know our full transfer budget and which players we can target?? Its actually worse than that Captain. DH has stated that the parachute money is paying for players we have signed in the past as they were on installment plans. So we cant expect it to be used for new signings.. Which is funny because when we were struggling at the bottom end of the championship pre Wagner, the mantra was we cant compete with clubs with their parachute payments. No matter what division we are in or the amount of money we have it seems to me its the same old we cant compete. The season has been a bloody disgrace and those running the club whilst DH was in hospital have made a right pigs ear of it. Looks like we have to be grateful if we make mid table from the noises coming out ...even heard one journalist say we will have to fight to hang on to Grant. Getting in the premiership was our golden chance to become something other than Little old Huddersfield but if you ask me by throwing that status away without even a whimper of a fight we have gone straight back to it.

no one cared enough to build on what we had achieved surviving thats what happened. And thats not a dig at any single person but all those connected with the club. Wagner the unsackable was allowed to dig his heels in and not play any of the new players and go all defensive which didnt work despite been competitive for long periods we lacked a cutting edge. Players who had given their all week in week out lost confidence with the constant defeats Other players couldnt be arsed putting the effort in and wrote us off Unsackable manager who had been allowed to gamble with our future decided he didnt want the stain of relegation on his cv Hoyle ill all season could do little from his hospital bed demonstrating those left to run the club in his absence have hardly covered themselves in glory and competency. New manager wants to move the ball forward quicker but the play it sideways and backwards mentality now entrenched in even our better players proves a great stumbling block. Will we ever score a breakaway goal ? Groundhog day infinity sets in Relegated with months to go in a season where only our fans can hold there heads high for fantastic support noted by many

Apologies if any of this has been posted before have not read the entire thread , but lots to worry and speculate about here
a) Is the new prospective owner wealthier than Dean and willing to put the cash in to take us to the next level?
I heard thats not the case, although i did hear they have been involved with the club previously ,which leads me to think they are in it to make money with the parachute payments, player sales etc.
b) With a take over almost certain and not just rumour is it the case thats why very little was spent last summer holding on to the cash to make the business more saleable ? Isnt that what happens when there is a take over ?
c) If the above is the case wouldnt we have been better investing and making a better go of it and securing our premiership status as a standpoint to negotiate from ? Rather than suffer a shambolic dogs dinner of a season ?

Well I guess it's officially grim...The return of Terrierpark. I look forward to a plethora of ill considered rants about how and why everything at the club is in an appalling state. I bet he's delighted he can share his thoroughly downbeat views with us all. If you need me to tell you its grim you must be blind or retarded. And i am not delighted at all re our demise if i was i would have been here evey week. If everythings just peachy in the way things have been run in your view... enjoy! you and our relegation deserve each other .

Yesterday was utter shambolic just what the manager was thinking i do not know playing players out of position and once again starting with a team with no attacking prowess. Did he think i know i'll give Wagners no attackers sysytem a chance. Fuck me this season has been utter shambolic ...and IMO DH needs to be not just eluding to the fans that he knows mistakes were made ...but telling us what they were and why they happened. I want to know the truth and know that the club are on the same wavelength of the fans as to what we need. ....GOALS , GOALS AND MORE GOALS.
Am not convinced one bit JS yes he's come in at a shit time when half the squad have Billings disease but yesterdays selections just reinforced it for me. No Bachuna who actually looks like he has a point to prove and show what he can do , No Kerchunga ...
To be honest i wouldnt give a flying fuck if i never see half of yesterdays team eve again .Ben Hamer, Eric Derm, Pritchard, Mounie, Mbenza, Kongolo ... thanks for nothing.
The Premier League has savaged us its exposed weakness in our club from top to bottom and inside and out. LOSING is now entrenched in our mentality and we need grafters and guile and Winners next season with Championship experience and not unknown kids from abroad its an unforgiving slog .
Have hardly posted at all this season as felt little point kicking them whilst down but fuck me am embarassed to wear the shirt.

Winter wasnt much of a player but did score a worldy once v sheff utd when they were top of the old third division. home grown player wasnt he? I agree the fans need to know the clubs take on whats gone wrong and why and what lessons have been learned. A statement should have been out before the ST went on sale Comments by jarvis were not helpful either ...struck of arrogance and quite frankly out of touch with the mood of the fans Or maybe just your mood? Town fans were certainly in a joyous and supportive mood at Chelsea! What were they were joyous about ? Had they become born again christians on the way down ?
