Definitely a penalty, red card as well. Score or miss it changes the course of the game.

them straws are being clutched at... The evidence is compelling that we were denied a very obvious penalty. Despite our below par attacking performance, I don't see how it's clutching at straws. |

Despite our below par attacking performance, I don't see how it's clutching at straws. we didnt deserve to win the game.. wendies did because they took one of a very few chances they had.. hudson pulling their centre half over at the corner where we cleared it off the line was as obvious a penalty as the handball.. some you get, some you dont.. if the ref believed hudsons indigression on the touchline was a foul(he clearly did because he gave one) he should have walked.. like i said swings and roundabouts.. they scored we didnt.. poor game decided by one quick break and piss poor defending, again.. blame the ref if you like.. |

The reason we didn't win is because we didn't create enough, we very rarely looked like winning the match. I think we're justified though in feeling aggrieved at being denied the chance to equalise from a nailed on penalty.

It does like very much like a penalty - the player clearly leans towards the ball and prevents the goal with his arm.
Penalty and a red card in my opinion.

Did we look like scoring at any other point? No. Apart from their goal they had a chance ballooned over the bar and that was it. Yes it's a handball. No doubt about it. It's the opposite arm for the linesman to see and the referee was probably unsighted .. Another referee to put in the below average bin and he wasn't even from Lancashire !

The ref was more bothered about making sure the ball was in the corner quadrant than actually refereeing the game. |

Surely the deciding factor was that they had a bit more firepower on upfront. Lovely break and ball in from Jaou. We didn't have effective firepower. Wendies have built up a decent squad - they will be our main rivals next season when we get our firepower sorted this summer .

Granted, they paid more for those 4 players than we paid for our squad and their wages will also be hefty but we can afford at least one maybe two more strikers for next season who will be able to make the difference. |
