Its a bit disappointing but going back to the last Brentford game i would have taken it. Some people have mentioned when we sold over 16,000 a few season's back, but money is tight for most folk and what does the future hold after Brexit. As we all know the people of Huddersfield watch many different side's, so thank god the people of The Heavy Woolen who watch Town and i know quite a few people who just couldn't make their mind up whether to buy a ticket or not and most didn't. You will always get your day trippers to Wembley or Old Trafford, but we are where we are and we cant compete with the so called big boys, so 15,000 isn't bad.
The futures bright the futures Blue & White.

Got to say i am a bit dissapointed with that. A fair few will be on holiday still come sat, so back down to 13.5k for brentford then ? I've said it for ages - IF and WHEN the team perform well consistently the stands will fill up. The club have done all they can with the cut price offer and marketing but for too many years (and dean himself isn't blameless on this) we have settled for mediocrity and sold the family silver and the floaters have stopped coming as a result - once you stop it is easier to just lose interest. It's up to Wagner and co to bring them back - they will do but only if we are winning regularly! That's modern football nowadays - it's the same just about everywhere!!!! Sod what the numbers look like now - lets make it as tough as we can for Brentford and atart with a bang for a change.

I bet if we were in league 1 and expected to get promoted, we would have sold more, but because we're not expected to do anything more than mid table, the floaters aren't interested. Sod them.

Disappointing. Can't believe we sold out in a pre season friendly because it was against Liverpool. I hate Liverpool 'fans' from Huddersfield. Too many glory hunters in Huddersfield!

It's not that bad. Bit disappointing, but only because we've had a lot of marketing and expectations are high. It'll look even better after a 0-3 on the opening day!

Why is it people see the need to read a thread titled "Season Ticket Sales", then tell us how they're not bothered how many we've sold. If they want to go into a thread about a subject they're not bothered about, thats up to them, but I have to read their post telling us they're not bothered. I read the thread cos I wanted to see a load of people shitting their pants cos they didn't know how many we'd sold. So in that regards the thread did its job for me

I said earlier that around 13500 in the stands at the side and around 1500 in FM upper. Why people thought it would be higher I don't know. Great effort to have the equivalent of over 10% of the town's population buying season tickets without having other gimmicks to add to that. If other clubs had the equivalent %age then they would be gobsmacked. Leeds currently struggling to reach 2% of the population of the city despite the money back offer. The support that Leeds get actually from Leeds is pathetic. Huddersfield's population is 160,000+ and the Huddersfield Health Authority cover's an area of 260,000 people that's just the Huddersfield area, so it's more like 7/8% of the population. What ever, 15,000 season tickets is fine by me and we owe Brentford one big time so roll on Saturday. Oh and before any one mentions it, a lot of fans are still on Holiday, so there will be a few more empty seats.

If you go back to 1970 when we were last promoted to the top division we only sold around 14000. This despite the crowds after Xmas 1969 averaging around 20000. Bear in mind that the adult tickets this time are 79% more than in 2008, even allowing for inflation it was a greater financial decision this time around.

we have sold 15000 season tickets and I understand about 1500 before the day for Brentford so the number of tickets sold (whether they attend or not) is a minimum of 16500 before any pay on the day - even by my pessimistic standards this looks good to me

It appears (based on the figures) that we have made less money in sales than perhaps we would have selling 8k at full price. That is a massive credit to Dean Hoyle taking that hit.
Let's hope that the big crowds can bypass that loss and spur us on.
I am disappointed in the people of Huddersfield though. We should have smashed the centenary prices.

Agree, thought it would of been 17 k at least I was joking .. it is what it is .. 10K was the original target and we beat it by 50%. So I think we can be pretty pleased really... people miffed cos we sold so many at the beginning and we haven't sold lots towards the end .. but that's going to happen cos people bought em early thinking the price would go up .. 15K is far better than we've achieved in just about every season in my lifetime ... against the backdrop of economic austerity and a team that has finished on the bottom third three seasons running I was joking too, maybe i should of said i expected 24k sold. My comment didnt travel over the www too well;D

That because how the club was run and performing when they were growing up. Imagine the fan base of Hudderfield in 15 years time if Hoyle and any subsequent successor can keep up the good work. This season is the tip of the iceberg. Just the tip of the wonderful iceberg.

I think this just proves the fact that many of us have suspected for a while - there simply isn't the interest in the town to fill the stadium. Sure we can sell out in the playoffs and against a premier league team in a friendly, but those people are clearly only coming for the spectacle.
We've sold 15,000 but I bet that unless we're challenging the top-6, only 10,000 of those will turn up to more than half the games. It's quite difficult to generate an interest in football where there isn't one currently. £179 is peanuts to the regular fans because we're used to paying at least double that, but for a non-football supporting person, it's £179 more than they spent last year.
If and when we get promoted, we'll start to edge towards 20k crowds but can you imagine the floating fans turning up when we're at home vs West Brom/Watford/Burnley or some of the other less attractive teams? No way. We'll fill it against the top clubs and that's it.
Face facts, this is our limit and we're simply constrained by the size of our town and the interest in Huddersfield Town within the local communities.

It will be nice to see the ground fairly full. There will be others like me though who will not be able to make every game. I reckon I will see probably half of them.

Theres more to income than gate revenue, add in food, drink, shirts scarves etc. Its also an investment in the future, the future is key. All the afore mentioned is becoming less significant proportion of total income - at the moment - It will not always be this way, it can not continue as it is with the madness that is the football industry If we play well and get the crowd behind us we will have bigger and better future. An intimidating crowd will be worth 5 or 6 extra points a season.

If i had not been in work or on 7.50 per hour i would not have £179, and no sc.(and maybe not a good enough credit rating). There is more to life than football

Think people need to be realistic. It's a fantastic number, that's a lot of new sign ups.
If you were get a season ticket normally then it's a bargain...
If you don't it's £179 quid.
Most people I know don't have that money and are still working Saturdays to earn more.
We still haven't recovered from the last few years and huddersfield is typically a working town.
I think those numbers are great.

At least we'll have spaces for 5000 people to pay full wack in the big games against Newcastle, Leeds etc. Even though we've sold less than we expected, their will still be plenty of 20,000 plus crowds next season with lots of paying punters.
