Im loving today mate. But if theres an obvious deficiency in the team that can be improved on then I'll not ignore it. Well let's leave Wagner to get on with it and enjoy hopefully a lot more eh? :-)

After the pathetic defending against Shrewsbury i can't believe folk are still having a go at Hudson.

I think we can all agree that there's a mistake in Hudson, but then show me a player incapable of error and you'll be showing me someone on the treatment table- mistakes are part of the game. I've not been Hudson's biggest fan, time is catching up with him and he lacks pace at times- but towards the end of last season he made a few vital, well-timed goal-saving tackles. He's also capable of chipping in with a few goals, not to be sniffed at.
As Town fans we're so used to disappointment that we need to have a scapegoat ready for if and when things go wrong. At the moment, that seems to be Hudson but in the past it's been Hoggy, or Tommy Smith. I've been guilty of this too, but from now on Davidson is my only "official scapegoat" even if he's not in the team!

2 wins in the league, keep a winning team why change the defence until we have to Hudson deserves his place, Hefe and Stank will get their chances to impress this season and its up to them to displace Hudson or the irrepressible Rolls Royce Schindler

Im loving today mate. But if theres an obvious deficiency in the team that can be improved on then I'll not ignore it. If there is an obvious deficiency then why has our worst defensive showing (to a League One team) come when he wasn't in the team and both a team that put 9 past us last season, and the title favourites (on their patch) only managed one goal each with Hudson in the team. I would suggest that any deficiency isn't that obvious. It's clear that Hudson is coming to the end of his career and his influence on the team and squad it seems is invaluable to Wagner at present, if and when Hefele or Stankovic eventually replace him, we can only hope that they have careers as good as Hudson as had.

Didn't go today so can't comment though i saw the highlights and thought the pen was harsh. Ive seen more than enough of him over the past 2 years to know i don;t want him in our team though and that somethings gone badly wrong if we've spent a lot of money on 3 centre backs and hes still playing. So badly wrong we've got six points from the two games he's played in? Beggars belief what i am reading. 6 points, 2 wins with him playing making him lucky we now have the quality to rope us out of the shit. Man is a liability and has been responsible for both League goals conceded. Wait till he actually costs us the points and see what your views are. All this good Captain shite. Titanic had a good Captain, fuckin thing still sunk.

Can you explain how is was responsible for the goal conceded last week against Brentford? Loewe concedes a cheap freekick, Macleod (marked by Smith) flicks it to Yennaris breaking untracked from midfield who slots it home past Ward. Hudson was initially tracking Hogan and was no where near any of the buildup or the strike for the goal. I am just surprised you aren't blaming him for Shrewsbury's goals! Blinkered is the word that springs to mind to some posters in the way they view Hudson, if they blame him for goals we concede that IN NO WAY was he responsible for! Beggars belief some might say

Sat 5ft from Wagner on Friday afternoon when he was asked if Hudson would lead the team out yesterday.
Without any hesitation he said he would, and then went on to explain why.
In a nutshell, it's because of his experience.
If you've ever done anything as a team, - sport, work, physical or mental tasks or challenge etc, then you should be aware of the benefits of having some experience in that team. That experience makes up part of the ability of that team member, and is a crucial factor in the team delivering the performance to achieve the required result.
If you're judging Hudson on his technical ability alone, then you aren't judging him correctly.

If we're still knocking on about outrageously shit central defending, our second goal would be a good example of how shit it can get. Have we stooped so low yet this season? I don't think so.

But if you were judging him on his technical ability you would conclude he is the weak link in that defence! However like you/Wagner point out he's a good leader and has the vital championship experience which is required at the moment.

Best option we've got at the moment, as Shrewsbury showed on Tuesday night. Harsh to say the penalty was his fault from where I was, otherwise did okay yesterday.

I'm not Hudson biggest fan but appreciate what qualities he does bring to the team especially a new team with a lot of young/new to championship football. I'm a great advocate of keeping a settled back line so as it's obviously working even with some deficiency in Hudson stays in till a time where injury kicks in or we get a few pasting and his form is the root cause.

Firstly, i was not there yesterday. This guy has been the main topic on here for over a year...thats because he is finished. The bulk of fans know it but so many just want to blindly follow that they will not have a word said against anyone. He has been a top player but run at him and he turns like a battleship, over his head and he cant catch up, give it to him and he is 3 minutes on the ball. He cant even bloody jump anymore! Watched the Sky highlights. The two flashed Newcastle headers were his ball which he totally missed. The pen...ridiculous and all because he missed timed the original ball. He even got done for pace by his man on the pen rebound (although he could do nothing about the goal). If he was a horse.....well.

Most if not all town fans will agree he's on his way out.....but experience counts at times and he simply isn't as bad as folks make out. By contrast some on here think Lynch was Beckenbauer which is so far from the truth it's ridiculous. Stankovic or maybe Hef will be the medium term replacement but if his steadying influence can keep improving the likes of smith lowe schindler and hogg ....and the manager thinks that's the case then let him get on with it for me. Hudson has frailties .....and his lack of aerial ability is the biggest for me, but whilst he pulls the shirt on and captains a team playing like yesterday then I'm happy to back him.

Anyone prepared to give him credit? Thought he was a rock in the heart of the defense today. Wasn't helped by RVLP strolling around on the left hand-side all match letting crosses into the box one of which lead to the dodgy penalty.

You could say exactly the same about Schindler. I don't think you could. Schindler gave the ball away once in a bad area that I can remember. Hudson gave the ball away 3 times in the first 8 mins. How you can compare the 2 performances is beyond me.

A solid performance from our leader yesterday. You can see why Wagner rates him highly both on and off the field.
I thought the penalty was harsh but on the replay you could see why a gave it, looked like a 50/50 decision. Like the Brentford game, I thought the ref had a good game, he kept the game flowing in spite of much moaning from the Newcastle fans.

If wagners managed to sign players who aren't as good as hudson then as i say, somethings gone badly wrong- but that was one game. My view of hudson is based on watching him play live maybe 60 times, not on stats via the internet.

Its called an opinion mate. You don't have to be an expert to have one, but i don't think you have to be an expert to see this one anyway. I get the experience thing wagner mentions. he clearly feels that makes up for the obvious problems of having the slowest least mobile player in the division ( all 4 divisions probably) in the back 4 and so far the gamble is paying off it has to be said. But seriously, if we're going to progress as a club, that can't go on for long and one of the alternatives has to step up to the plate. IMO Keith of course!
