Don't like to single out any player after the result today but I thought he was tremendous today. Lots of happy players and staff on the Grand Central home 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️ When I saw him warming up instead of Williams I was surprised, but he had a very good game, as did Williams at right back when he came on.

Billing not phased by premier league

He's awesome but drives me mad when he misplaces a 3 yard pass. He's too laid back sometimes His finishing in the warm up is a joy to watch too, lashes it in to the top corner so many times.

Lots of happy players and staff on the Grand Central home 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️ I felt it was a "coming of age" performance today. He was that good. Nidfi d is an area I've worried about the step up, but I think if the 4(williams was very good when he came on today too) stay fit then we'll be a match for s lot of teams in midfield battle. Good to hear. That first half v Torino must have given him a lot of confidence and just being picked ahead of Williams. I was very surprised he started to be honest. This Wagner bloke is bloody good isn't he.

seemed like a strange call by wagner to have biling start, but once again he got it spot on.

Quality performance
Think he picked up a knock / was on his last legs at the end as some of his short passing was infuriatingly poor
Before today would have thought Mooy/Hogg was the ideal center mid pairing; after today Hogg's definitely got his work cut out

Maybe my bias, but the ref seemed to give them a lot, even for good tackles e.g. Billing and Schindler

seemed like a strange call by wagner to have biling start, but once again he got it spot on. I wonder if it was tactical--with Cabaye out, Palace don't really have the kind of central midfield string-puller Williams can play seek-and-destroy against. Puncheon tends to drift towards the wings and Milivojevic (in my limited viewing) plays too deep. So this was the sort of matchup where you could theoretically play without a dedicated 6 and still not get ripped up through the center, since Palace were always going to rely so heavily on the flanks anyway. I still expected Williams to start, of course, so that's mostly 20/20 hindsight. And kudos to Billing--I thought he played more than well enough to earn more starts regardless of opponent. But I do think it's possible we'll still see Williams in the first 11 against the Knockaerts, Sigurdssons, Silvas, etc. of the world.

There was of course the throw away comment of us not being that good, but the best was the game being between a team getting to know each other and a team of thugs!

Not so much the reds but he dished out 11 yellows in total. Plus he is by far the worst ref in the division.

Billing and Mooy stayed pretty close together, played a bit deeper as a pair, but went up and down the field together. Thought their combined defensive work was excellent and Billing didn't get lost or separated in the middle or too high up the pitch. Hoggy will have trouble getting back in.

Been told Loftus-Cheek was getting hammered on 5live during the game, personally he was the only one on their team who impressed me.

We have to be confident we can win games in the premier league and go out and try and win them (unlike borough). Billing is a more attacking option than Hogg and so when we play a team like palace with a good chance of getting something I believe we will play billing over Hogg and try to create more.
