Don't see how that can work. It's a restriction of trade. Non-competitor clauses are common in many industries, and ultimately don't sign the contract if you don't want to aide by the terms. I suspect the issue will be that Boro paid them all off for terminating the contract, and so the suit is being brought to reclaim those funds. EDIT: Boro are seeking an injunction that would stop the quartet working for Birmingham until December 28, as well as damages This might make it harder for them to win. Happens a lot with sales people but I've never seen one enforced through the courts because it's a restriction of trade. A contract that stops someone earning a living isn't enforceable.

Gary Monk has great class, humility and respect and is a top manager. I totally agree.....all the bloke did was break down in tears, assault a man with glasses, bottle out and start a mass brawl. Oh yeah, and talk in a childish way about humility and respect afterwards. He was only a dirty lxxds bastard His face was all battered and torn He makes me feel sick So I hit im with a brick And now he don’t sing any more UTT

Everyone always quotes Izzy when it comes to this video, its our very own Kachunga for me! Goes absolutely ballistic trying to get to Jansson. Remember seeing an image with Kachunga gripping him by the neck.. Hilarious! you see DW grab Monkfish and pull him in. Then he whispers something in his ear and old punch me face in scuttles off at high speed. I wish i knew what he said.

Rather appropriate given the crap that came out of his mouth after the Wagner incident.

Oh, I don't know - I can't think of a better place to have a tattoo of Monk's face. An arse on an arse. My thoughts exactly. Monk has finally found a place he belongs. It really does sound a miracle took place though, making up all of 2 points and one position in the table in 15 games. Well done Gary. Can’t believe he’s not managing in the prem.

Thanks for bumping this back up. Reading the Making a Miracle thread/article earlier you realise how important little incidents like Monks meltdown were that season. Everything contributed to the team sprint, the atmosphere, the belief. Players, fans and manager together as one. I loved watching Monk lose it and his subsequent rant... but I love it more to think it may even have contributed in a small way to cementing all those bonds that have proved vital since.

He was lucky to survive that... their support turned on him big time that day, as did Whelan, suggesting he didn’t have any sort of game plan.

He proved he couldn’t handle the pressure of needing to beat the ‘small’ neighbours down the road in their ‘not significant’ derby... the one thing he will have with Brum in L1 is pressure. Tough division as we know and the expectation will be huge. Can’t see him handling it.

This is a superb post, absolutely right. I couldn't agreee more that what took place that day was more than 3 points and a last minute winner. The togetherness and Team spirit was deifintely in evidence and absolutely enhanced after the events of Monk starting something he couldn't and didn't finish. His interview afterwards only made us (the Players and Team) stronger.

TBH he did a good bloody job. Saved them from the drop and had them near the Play Offs until the points deduction. Says they want a new direction and philosophy, be careful what you wish for. I think he did bloody good under the circumstances surrounding them

Sacked? Really? Donn't like the fella, but that seems harsh. Echoes of when they sacked Rowett, replacing him with Zola. That went well.
Hoped they'd go down under Monk, hope they go down without Monk. I'm not bitter.

Hate Birmingham and him, but from a neutral footballing perspective, he has done a good job with the resources and off field antics. Simple as that
