I believe that Wagner got the best out of him. Early days at Middlesbrough but i suspect he won't appear in the Premier League again.

I agree. He was great at moving us up the pitch but his end product let him down. Sometimes brilliant sometimes terrible

All I have to say he's that good Middlesboro scored all 5 today after subbing him.
He always flattered but never produced what he should have with all the skills he obviously has, just a greedy git and lacks intelligence to know when to try take a man on and beat him or when to pass and move.

I'd imagine he'll find himself behind Mbenza and Diakhaby in the pecking order. Hope we can get him back though, the new manager may want him.

Say what you want about him but he's still our best attacking player.

Knowing what’s gone on and the divisions VLP had created in the dressing room, I for one wouldn’t want to see him back.

All I know is that there seems to be splits in the squad mainly between between The English/German contingent and the French/Dutch. Own languages been spoken at training and at meals which was obviously one of the things DW made a point of addressing. That’s not everything obviously but It apparently accumulated into Smith & Hogg having a massive go at them in training this week.

'Seems to be' a storm in a teacup then and doesn't explain Van La Parra going out on loan.

I don't think it's as simple as german/English vs dutch/french On Instagram the likes of Sabiri, Williams, Kachunga etc all seem to get on very well with Kongolo, Mounie, Mbenza, VLP when he was there etc

The fact that a lot of us are wanting vlp back or stating that he should because he would walk back in to our match day squad is more a reflection on how bad our recruitment has been rather than a compliment to VLP being a good player.

Hogg dishes it out all the time in training, As does Smith ( when training ) The only real bit of falling out at training recently wasn't that recent, And that was Hogg/Smith giving Diakhaby a bit of " get real, home truths "
