Sorry. I thought this thread was about VLP. Yet another person who fails to see what VLP gives us. He was instrumental in our transition play, this is why Wagner played him regularly and was an important factor in our promotion season and our PL survival season. VLP played to orders hence his attacking play was restricted because of this. When he’s let loose he has the ability to take defenders on and create space for others. Under Wagner he dropped him and then we spent far more time in the opposition half. Last season we struggled to pass the halfway line. Also VLP was the most subbed and dropped player i wonder why. Last season we survived in the Premier League.

Where did i say we should buy him. Where did I say you said we should? Personally i don't think Gauld as developed from a youth player. And i also think if we get another pacy central striker we will play Grant to the left.

He’s not developed period. It’s the similar scenario with Scottish footballers, a lot do well up there and go either here or somewhere else and totally flop. They end up back at where they started, this could be another. Players like Scott McDonald, Kris Boyd etc, shite in England but turn into R9 in Scotland. It happens all too frequently, there are some exceptions, but Gaulds loans whilst out there and now where he is, speaks volumes with where he will end up

There’s a reason that VLP was a regular starter for David Wagner. I hope he stays. Some on here regard his move to Middlesbrough as a failure on his part when in reality the reason he didn’t play was the stubbornly defensive tactics of Tony Pulis. Lets keep Mounie too then we will have 2 non productive attacking players. he is. class !

If he was that good or potentially good and able at Championship level, he would be getting in 2nd division Portuguese teams.....

We will with Van, he makes space, takes players away, also has decent shot on him.

Stop making me laugh the guy is one of the fastest men in the league yet he is the one leaving space for who exactly and as for shooting Jesus he only ever bothered the goalie once in 3 years.

Nick you need to watch you;re second team more Mane and Salah operate in the last third and are constantly causing problems in the box.

You are dead right about that but the principal is the same you need players to get in there like Grant does.

He has posted a video on insta of himself keeping up one of those tiny footballs in his lounge, quality. I once saw a tightrope walker performing in a touring circus in Denmark who stacked four saucers, four cups and a teaspoon up on his head by flipping them up one by one from his foot - whilst riding a unicycle. That, Nick, is quality. You can find any number of young kids on YouTube doing keepy-upies, it ain’t that special. Probably find an Alpaca doing it too if you searched long enough.

Be good if they could find a video of an Alpaca doing keepie uppies with Rudi Voller, with the Alpaca re-enacting the Rijkaard incident...

On the other hand, it would be two more feet to fall clumsily over, so maybe not. Llamas..now there’s a different story. Get one of those nasty sob’s alongside Schindy in the centre of defence, they’re like a footballing version of Sergio Ramos. However, as Mr. Atlantis pointed out, they do have a nasty spitting habit.
