I understand what your saying, but I don't see that as a fault of the Club "it will just show that we have made a complete pigs ear of our approach to life in the Premier League" It's just the way football is. Bigger Clubs will always poach players from the divisions below them. My point was that we planned poorly this time last year and it has resulted in us losing our Premier League status and as a result we may lose a good recruit (there's an irony there for sure). It is acknowledged that mistakes were made, it has happened, we cannot change things but we can learn and get better. We certainly made a pigs ear of our recruitment in the summer that's for sure.

Everything from Summer recruitment, our change of managers, to our (non) appointment of a Director of Football looks to have been quite frankly amateurish. Not something you would expect to see from the club while Dean is in charge. Yes he's had other things to worry about, but isn't that why he employs staff who can step in for him if he is not there for whatever reason?

The signing of Grant and his refreshing injection of pace, enthusiasm up front suggests that going back to a place where we have a balanced dressing room with not too many prima donnas, might be the best option for us. For reference, despite Mooy probably being on considerably more during our promotion season, he's never come across as a mardy arse or thinking he's bigger than the club, maybe that's due to the fact he came through the ranks as opposed to being blooded through an elite academy? Whereas some of the lads we have here now could be accused of being too big for their boots? (if rumours are to be believed) Grant might just be the talisman for us next season, particularly if we offload the one or two sulky bastards that probably exist in the squad. I'll be glad to be going back to a 46 game season TBH. That lack of 8 competitive games, the lull it causes, coupled with the nature of our demise, has made DATM a slightly worse place to be these last few months. Despite my belief that we've had the best squad at our disposal in the last umpteen years, it's a squad that's struggled, despite the biggest financial investment we've ever seen. I could have posted that last paragraph on any number of threads, just so happened this one is closest to the top just now...

Not at all, just my opinion based on what I see and hear, I'm not trying to suggest I have any superior qualification or that I'm itk in any way, plus I'm not rubbishing anyone else's opinion either. I personally don't get the impression the players have much respect for the manager but have not attempted to speak for fans so not sure what you mean there. There's a poll though which suggests 70% of fans aren't keen. If I said 'half' the squad I probably didn't expect it to be taken literally (ie 12 players!) although he seems to have alienated quite a few based on selection alone so it wouldn't surprise me. There's also a poll that suggest 75% of the fans are keen. Add them together and it still shows a substantial majority are keen. How much reliance are you placing on these polls to inform your opinion?Strange question, non whatsoever. A poll is for people to vote on and give their opinion, they aren't used to form opinions, or they shouldn't be. The difference in the polls is interesting isn't it, just a week or so apart. Its almost as if Jan wants to lose his job when you look at some of his decisions. Last week ~70% wanted him to stay, this week ~70% have had enough. I'm usually one of the last to decide that its time for a manager to go but I've seen more than enough already. A few more heavy defeats, awful performances and baffling decisions and it will be almost unanimous I guess. Dean tends to think like a fan which is why I expect he'll probably act when the time is right. It would be nice to think Jan could turn it around but I dont see any way back.

I think it started with Moss leaving, was a strange outcome and he seemed to have the right kind of track record. How they ended up waiting so long and then plumping for Rebbe I'll never know.

Agreed good post and excellent point about Ramsey Except Arsenal are desperately fighting for a top 4 spot whilst we are relegated and evaluating our squad. If we were a point from safety then it'd be a good comparison. Yea I concede that and whilst I’m not one to argue for arguments sake, I’d rather us be like Arsenal and fight for every possible point. I think Jan is picking his team to make a point at the expense of winning any.

Yea I concede that and whilst I’m not one to argue for arguments sake, I’d rather us be like Arsenal and fight for every possible point. I think Jan is picking his team to make a point rather than get a point . and at no point do you think the players not playing have anything to do with his selections at this sad time??? we spent a great deal of the season picking teams to go all out for a 'point' and failing badly and often spectacularly with players who 'loved and would run through brick walls for the manager' clearly that became untrue some time ago.. I think he is making selections based on; a. the result is no longer important, has not been for a while in truth. b. the need to see players in a proper game to ascertain their abilities in one or more positions, given he might have seen something in training etc that may not be obvious to us eg Stancovic... c. some players may certainly not be in the right mindset to play/start games, in his or their own opinions.. d. some players may have made it plain they do not wish to play because of moves etc, this should not upset a manager too much it happens a shitload.. e. he may on occasions be making a point because of previous 'performances or lack of' or training ground commitment, personal behaviour, comments or just how badly some have taken quite proper critique? ? Only room for one voice when the shit hits the fan the rest can pitch in or give opinion when asked but clarity at the sharp end is key.. I have seen a dead team die a little bit more over the weeks but could not say with any conviction that Jan has made them better or worse given the shit sandwich he took over..

Of course it’s all guess work but since Billing, Zanka, Lossl (that we know of ) have suggested they may leave in the summer they have all been sat on the naughty step. As for Mooy ,quite possibly the best player ever in a town shirt , so far he’s been subbed , played out of position , “ rested” and thrown on for ten minutes at spurs. It looks to me like he’s saying “it’s my way or the highway “

Equally, we were only one win away from leapfrogging Fulham and gaining an extra £1.5m+ in prize money. I don't understand why people are so happy to write the season off by picking inferior players like Hamer, pissing about with probably the best player any of us have seen at Town and freezing the Danish contingent out. True. We can only assume he’s been given the green light to take the approach he has. I can’t believe he’s just done it without. I’ve not seen anyone happy re this season, I’m certainly not. I can understand freezing players out if they’ve stepped out of line though or clearly aren’t going to be here next season. Also we don’t know who’s call that was. I’d like to see Mooy more and in the middle of the park but don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. It looks a bit like we know he’s not going to be around or he’s carrying an injury we don’t know about. More likely, I guess, the former unfortunately. Out of interest, would you be playing the 3 Danes who came out in the press re moving on whilst not playing the players you’d most likely have to work with next season leaving them out and. It getting game time? Or maybe if you’d agreed to sell someone for a handsome fee subject to them being in one piece would you allow your manager to play them?

It never happens but would be intriguing to hear what they all really think. I think when he stuck Mooy on the wing it was to let someone else play the central role, I really hope if the chips were down he'd not be doing that and if there was any danger it would convince him he wanted to go rather than stay then it'd be lunacy. If we had a fit winger we could do with one of them out there ideally :-)

I think you need to re-read my original post which you commented on. Add them together and it still shows a substantial majority are keen. How much reliance are you placing on these polls to inform your opinion?” In your response you said “(polls) aren't used to form opinions, or they shouldn't be” so I asked “So if you don't think polls are a useful indicator to form an opinion on how a large group of people are thinking, how do you form an opinion on how you think a large group of people are thinking?” What is it you think I’m missing? Some ketchup for that chip that's been clinging to his shoulder all season.

Looking back on this shitshow season, Karlan Grant is one shining light. He will rip it up in the Championship, the lad is a quality striker. He showed all his attributes in 5 seconds at West Ham, speed, strength, awareness, instinct and finishing. If he remains injury free he will be on for 20 goals.

The antagonism was started by you as well you know with your deliberately facetious comment in which you attempted to belittle or find fault with part of my post which you had actually misunderstood in the first place due to an earlier misunderstanding by your friend. On here I always try to comment on the debate and pass my opinion on Town rather than criticise or attempt to ridicule other posters even if I consider their post ridiculous. There are unfortunately a few regulars on here who seem to take great delight in trying to put down other posters they don't agree with with condescending or patronising comments, it's pathetic, petty and childish and it puts people off posting. Perhaps you are in that category, I don't know and I cant say I've really noticed any of your posts in the past. Apologies for calling you a facetious prick but its simply how you were coming across to me with your replies yesterday in which you seemed to be insinuating I didn't understand what a poll was or maybe you were trying to criticise my thought process or use of grammar I'm really still not sure?! I see your last sentence you are trying to turn it around and make it look like I was the antagonist but that's not the case is it. If you want to talk about Town please feel free to reply to any of my posts but please don't try to 'grade' my posts like some jumped up little English teacher. Anyway back on topic that Karlan Grant is bloody good isn't he

Yes he is.....but by being so its a double edged sword. Lets assume he does score 20 goals up to Xmas 2019 - do you think a 20m offer will see him stay when a PL side comes in ? Then again he could be super shit - and we will be saying "well he is back at the level we bought him from" when we are relegated 2020/21....
All guess work.....all supposition....

Didn't think he really got in the game today though. He should have brought him on at half time. I'm sorry but I've lost all patience with Mounie and I hate saying stuff like that.
