Ok, I've read most of this thread and I can conclude two things. Firstly, e4bandstevieboy is insane. Secondly, I'm in a minority on Mbenza. I rate him and can see lots of potential. I agree the fee is as inflated as a condom at a stag party but he has got something. I'd keep him and I'd play him. He could be devastating in a counter attacking team. We don't play counter attacking though, all the You Tube footage of him excelling is just that, counter attacking. We will next season.

Here's to blitzkrieging Championship defences next season though 😁

And you're right about our need for Blitzkrieg and only getting largo instead.

I thought this lad did okay tonight, was one of the calmest on the ball, looked dangerous in our opening "patch" and used his body well and showed strength when most were being bullied.
I've seen someone slate him on another thread which I thought a little unfair considering how many worse performances there were out there tonight.. He seems to have come a long way since those first few appearances where he looked like he'd never kicked a football before.
Looks promising now, just still not sure about his price.. It's a big risk and look how 14m Mounie had panned out.

Not really sure what you’ve seen that makes you think he looks promising apart from the odd decent ball into the box, he’s been a shocker of a signing in my opinion.

Not sure this bloke’s any better than Mustapha Carayol tbh and he certainly isn’t worth anywhere close to the supposed £12m(?) price tag. If there’s even the slightest truth in that figure or that a permanent deal will go through this summer, boy did they have our pants down!

He’s awful I can handle them not being good enough but the lazy sod strolled around for 90 mins again trying his very best to not get involved I can’t repeat the language my 17 year old daughter used when she read that IM and SM were in the starting 11 again did jan see on Saturday to give them a starting berth???

Sorry for bringing this up again but are we any closer to knowing what the situation is with him? In Jan’s spreadsheet of players for next season, he is firmly under the column headed ‘SURPLUS TO REQUIREMENTS’ (polite for 💩). There area quite a few others under this column as well!

Sorry for bringing this up again but are we any closer to knowing what the situation is with him? I think the fact he is playing tells you all you need to know There are quite a few players either out of contract or who have made noises that they are leaving, they are not involved (excluding Lossl due to exceptional circumstances due to Hamer being terrible). Yet Mbenza is being picked regularly when fit

It could be that the fee has already been agreed and put aside from this seasons budget, in which case if it has then signing him maybe a gamble but it could be one that turns out well.
I think people are also forgetting how young he is and the fact the Belgium U21's obviously see something in him.

Potentially as we do have an option on him for another year which he can't do anything about if we want to activate it. I'd keep him if it was as a right back but not at left back

Yet Mbenza is being picked regularly when fit Because we don’t have any other wingers maybe? We were short in midfield last night but he still put Stankovic out there and not Billing or Sabiri who are on their way out He could have played Kachunga instead of Mbenza My point is that if he was just on loan, he wouldn't have appeared again just like Puncheon hasn't. We wouldn't be giving this much game time to someone who is not one of our players

Had our best cross of the night but was out of position on a few occasions. I think he'll be able to use his speed to make up for poor decisions next season. Still very young. Need to have patience.

Agree in principle, bu they also have a decent amount of guile and composure - a combination of Mbenza, Diakhaby and Grant wouldn't.
