Horne was good for us .. but his best days were well behind him . Not as good for us as Mooy imo Wasn't suggesting that. It's beyond belief just how much some fans don't appreciate the difference in levels. That's why I wondered his age .. players were always better when you were a kid

Nobody's ever going to describe Mooy as dynamic are they, no matter how good he is. The midfield was painfully slow at passing and supporting attacks last season. Your description of Mbenza could go for just about any winger, anywhere. Inconsistency is the nature of the beast. Mooy clearly switched off this season. He needs to move on, been a good servant and all that, but we need a change in midfield. And a very early contender for worst post of the season.

I was just offering a possible alternative to best midfielder in recent times. It has nothing to do with levels, you can only judge players, when they play for your team, by the level you watch them play at. Barry Horne's best days were behind him but as well as being a damn good footballer he was a leader on the pitch as well. He was a joy to watch, even though he was coming to the end of his playing days. BTW Chips I was well into my forties when Horne played for Town and as we had three young kids I wasn't pissed much either.

Miles off. Different style of player but I'm still of the mind that Mooy isn't all that and if he was moved in during the summer then I wouldn't really be that bothered. Horne had a steadying effect on the team and was an anchorman. I always remember the time I went to Bristol City and he ran with the ball from his own half and drilled it from 20 yards into the bottom corner.

Mooy was the orchestrect in getting us prmototed after our leagues were flooded with the world elite. I think we are roughly the same age and you have no appreciation of context, even though you are a more dedicated fan.

Was only on the pitch 18 minutes too You're doing him an injustice. He lasted a full 2 minutes before getting his first booking.

If we get more movement up front we will see more direct passing from Mooy. Totally correct. Mooy looks forward as soon as he receives the ball but if there is no movement ahead of him the priority becomes retaining the ball. Exactly, staggering how many people just can't or won't see that, think they'd rather Mooy give it a big boot up to nobody or pass to a defender rather than actually retain possession! Same applies to other players to an extent too. Sent from my SM-G920F using proboards

He is a real talent, great close ball control and always looking for the right pass. With JS wanting to play more forward that might suit his game even more. If we are bringing on young midfielders he would be a good player for them to learn from. I think he would be a big miss if he went.

It was the pissed comment which annoyed me and that was not yours so sorry if you caught it a bit of the backlash.

There are endless examples of where it is clear there is no consideration of context. You can throw in looking back at yesteryear more fondly too. I was pissed mind and that's more than evident in my reply to Art 😄

How they’ve got to this level without an understanding of defensive responsibility (or even control the ball!) is beyond me I still hope we manage to lose one of them in the summer No chance both can start together barring a miracle in the summer - you could play 1 and have VLP on the other side who you think being the most unlikely person to do so, completely understands his defensive responsibility. I’d start Kachunga over any of these Diakhaby had only started 13 games before we signed him as the man to solve our problems last season. didnt wagner say diakhaby was signed more for the future Who knows, but it’s not really right to focus on the starts! He had over 40 Ligue 1 appearances along with a handful of Champions League outings under his belt before we signed him!

Mooy is the best player at town since frank worthington.. Would be devastating if he left..
