Ssshhh you are not allowed to ask questions Thats bollocks isn;t it. Everyones always asked questions and you know what, the club has gone out of its way to answer them. Do you think its normal practice for owners of other clubs to do regular Q&A evenings with fans?? Supporters will have legitimate questions about this and rightly so. Ask them and Im sure you'll get an answer. What they don;t have the right to do is insult and slag off this new owner like some utter bellend internet warrior and by doing that, indirectly slag off and insult Dean Hoyle at the same time. correct and things will come plainer in the weeks to come . typical of a lot on here I'm afraid

Not time to read whole thread so maybe repeating stuff. Dean Hoyle always said he would give up control to the right sort of buyer so we have to show some trust and he will still be around to offer advice when needed. At least the new owner has knowledge of the club and previous experience of the inner workings of football clubs elsewhere so he's not coming into it eyes closed. We might have to recalibrate the budget and maybe some expectations too but it's too early to tell. We will all let mr Hoyle know once again the high regard he's held at the club at various stages of tomorrow afternoon I'm sure. He also said he’d never share...times change.

Glad it’s another town fan but biggest question is how much is he worth?? More than me and probably you. o I don’t know mate, looking at his accounts, if we clubbed a few hundred each in I think we’d match him.

Obviously a Q and A is fantastic and we'll find out a little bit more but tbh the only way we can be sure of the new owner is by seeing what happens once the parachute payments end.
No matter who is in charge of the club next season, we have enough clout to finance a decent squad and to have a good go. Well, someone could do an Oyston but with Hoyle retaining 25% that's highly unlikely. Whatever PH's financial status, we should be fine for a few years.
The problem and questions really arise if we don't bounce during this period.
Hoyle chucked 5m per year just to get out of L1 and to stay in the Championship (sticking to FFP), would this level of support continue regardless of ownership (or who actually puts the money in)?
We might feel better tomorrow after hearing more, but just as we ended up sleepwalking into relegation, we simply won't know until 2022.

I always interpreted that as he wouldn't do a 50/50 split so for me they haven't changed on that at all.

Then there is travel, merchandise, pies and pints, away games, cup games etc

The final Championship season figures included big bonuses for promotion.

Totally understand Dean selling and as for what he’s done for the club in the ten years of his ownership, well the guy will never have to buy a pint again in Huddersfield but it would appear our new chairman is potless would it not? People go on about parachute payments but they don’t last for ever and what happens when that runs out?
Something doesn’t stack up right for me with the new guy.
Not writing him off already but I’d expect someone who buys a football club to have a bit more financial clout on paper like.
That said i wouldn’t mind being a few thousand behind him.

If he'd sold to relatively faceless foreign investors with big bucks the forum would be full of moans that it wasn't our club anymore and suspicions about motives of new investors. So he sells to someone he feels has best interests of club at heart but not as strong a financial backing and there are posts that we are financially doomed after parachute payments, can't win. I'm sure DH exhausted all the possibilities of finding a mega rich superfan but maybe they just don't exist?

You've got to trust Hoyles judgement and go with it , can't be slating this new guy yet. We couldnt of asked for a better chairman than Hoyle so anything new was always going to be a downgrade unless it were a Russian Billionaire who brings a hareem of playboy models with there knockers out every match.
Always said alot of town fans don't realise how lucky we've had it in regards to the running of the club, ticket prices etc. Interesting times ahead.

Deano has clearly gone down the long term stability route rather than the shit or bust route. The thinking possibly being that if he got us to the PL by investing 50m over 10 years ie 5m a year then by investing say 10m a year over the next 10 years with the parachute payments it should make us a stronger Championship team with a chance of returning to the PL at some point. By retaining a stake Deano might then inject some more funds if we look like making it one season. This guy from Pure Legal might just be there to take the day to day pressures off him. The other option of a complete takeover by foreign investors would maybe have been the shit or bust option where they inject a load of cash which might have given us 6 or 7 years in the top flight and then who knows maybe turned us into the next Bolton or Portsmouth. From a personal point of view I’d take either. The thought of being a decent top flight club for a few years with maybe a cup final thrown in certainly appeals and it wouldn’t bother me if we then plummeted back to the 4th Division. Maybe it’s a good job I’m not Deano then.

Plenty of others saying how well he did for the club. There will always be two sides to any story but don't let that stop a negative agenda on here, Facebook and Twitter by some supporters

Hopefully today will give some insight and assurance.

I remember folk laughing at the strange fat bloke who acquired Bradford City because he had no brass{in relative terms}Look what happened to them.Without money a football club cannot survive, considering the ridiculous transfer fees and wages for players.I am just concerned that this could happen to us.Even with DH having a 25% shareholding would he be able, from that position, to rescue us again?

Often amazes me how thoughtful, eloquent and balanced the majority of the posts are when visiting other clubs' forums. It's like going to Bizarro World. The gist is that he left them in a better position than he found them (mainly due to much-needed stadium repairs) but overpromised and underdelivered on the pitch and there are concerns that they're now left with contracted players they can't really afford who they only signed due to his financial backing.

Think the idea behind this choice of successor is that we hopefully WON'T need rescuing again! Thats why IMO hes chosen someone he sees as a man who not only is a passionate Ton fan in the exact same mould that he is, but a very successful businessman be it at a smaller level than himself, and someone who isn;t going to go down the path of boom and bust. I think he basically thinks Phil will run the club in pretty much the same way he was planning on doing it had he stayed in command. Its quite a like for like change IMO. Its a decision he sees is best for the long term prosperity of the club. Fans should trust his judgement. I think hes more than earned that.

I think that is extreme. Being much further down the ladder, they are probably a club with a higher proportion of diehard fans, who live and breathe the club. Appreciate not all diehard fans are reasonable (cough). In summary then, he delivered what he could guarantee (i.e. improved facilities), but not yet what was dependant on various external factors to him (i.e. success on the pitch), whilst highlighting relying on a backer's money, who isn't a fan, increases the risk of things changing very quickly.

Appreciate not all diehard fans are reasonable (cough). Of course, but it's struck me many a time before when other clubs of a more similar size to ourselves have their forums linked on here (the Leeds and Wednesday ones being notable exceptions!) When you consider they've just had their big investor walk out prematurely after promising them promotion, the reaction is pretty laudable. That scenario would generally bring out the worst extremes of any set of supporters.
