Is the club that owes Hoyle, not PH, so why not? Hoyle is clearly satisfied that whatever deal/arrangement and funding available from club /PH is adequate to safeguard the club. If he uses the club's money to purchase/pay Hoyle back then he's effectively getting it for nowt. Surely the money that's left in the club/future parachute payments are for the running of the club. The club owes hoyle £50m If PH paid £50m to Hoyle for the club, the club still owes him £50m. If the deal is to take the club for nothing but pay hoyle back the debt from future income, PH club is still richer than it has ever been, and PH has more of his own money available if needed.

Not if he's agreed to write off the club's debt to him. He's said in the past he didn't expect to get the money back. I'll be amazed if Hoyle has agreed a deal where the club owes him the money and not the guy who's taking a 75% stake in the club. If as Portugalterrier says, there is no upfront fee and that the loans are being paid back over a 3/4 year period, then the future prospects of the club are going to take a hit unless PH invests serious bucks or is paying the money out of his own pocket.

Just taking your 2nd paragraph - "if PH pays Dean 50m"...and..."the club still owe Dean 50m"....by my mathematical calculation, that's 100m to Dean !! (...nice little earner, guv, as 'Arry would say!) ...and Dean was never here to make a profit, by his own admission! ...by the way - can anyone clarify - Was Dean the OWNER....or the CHAIRMAN ?? Likewise, the new guy, Phil - OWNER? or CHAIRMAN?? (there is a BIG difference between the two roles)

I'm not suggesting whether he will or won't, just if he did, he hasn't contradicted that statement. Also, he would be doing it after we made it to the top flight and is probably still leaving us in a better position than before he started.

If Dean is going to make a profit then fair play. I doubt there were many people moaning ten years ago when he was more than likely going to spunk a lot of money and not see any of it again. One of the best ways to lose millions is buy a football club..( I would imagine as I don't have millions).

Most of us don't, but a few talk as if Dean's wealth fell into his lap, when in reality he presumably took risks and put graft in to a level way above the average person.

Wait for the published accounts. My guess is that PH who sold his previous company Compass Costs Consultants to a dodgy outfit called Quindell for £14m back in 2013 ( to be fair he did not know they were dodgy at the time) has paid Dean a few million for 75% equity in the club. I expect Dean’s directors c£50m loans to remain outstanding. Whether Dean requires repayment of these by the club in part, in full, or writes them off will depend on the future success of the club and it’s revenues. This is his way of handing over to a pair of hands he can trust. I suspect he does not need the £50m now but his right to call for it protects the Club from being sold for a fast buck in the future. A win win situation for us Town fans if we continue to believe in Dean.

Please tell me I'm wrong but why would someone make this up? We all know PH doesn't have 60m to buy the club so how else had it happened? And we all don’t know that the club has been sold for £60m or that Dean has expected to get all or indeed ANY of his directors loans repaid. Just as likely that he’s written off his directors loans as the price he’s effectively paid for the privilege of owning it, and more or less “given away” the football club...with the club starting to pay a rental for use of Canalside (that he directly controls and owns) from which he might take an income directly or indirectly if he’s in need of a bit of cash. In fact, more likely...given that’s what Dean has regularly said over a period of a few years. Possible that the money set aside for redevelopment of HIS canalside is seen as payment of his loans

If DH lent the club 50m & does get it back that isn't 50m to DH! DH paid some cretin a few million for the club I believe, & then a few more million for a bit of the stadium so knock those off too. DH financed the club before Sky money came through, so knock that off as well, & you may have a big slice jack shit left if you revisit your "mathmatical calculation".

I know it’s completely pointless now the club has been sold to Hodgkinson but I have it on good authority that incoming Newcastle owner zayed al nehayan enquired about purchasing us in a 100% take over for 65 million. Dean turned there advances down to keep the club local and close to home. Make of that what you will.

To be fair, Newcastle like our friends down the A62 are a one club city, i'm sure they'd find room for little old Huddersfield Town.

I find it strange that on one hand you have this information on 'good authority' but on the other hand you're starting a thread asking if the training ground upgrade has started yet?

Sunderland missing out on promotion, a seemingly agreed deal in principle to see the back of Mike Ashley and hopefully encourage Rafa to stay with a transfer fund. What a difference a Bank Holiday weekend makes.

There has been more scrupulous deals than this ratified in shorter time.

Are the FA on holiday or something? Seems to be taking a long time for this to be ratified It’s the EFL...they had their big summer conference back end of last week in Portugal and then would have been on the piss ahead of watching the Nations League games as guest...expect they’ll type a few words later this week. I don’t know why the English Football League has to continuously host this conference overseas...it seems like a massive waste of money and not really a very sound thing to do ecologically speaking.

So then, you are one of those that got a free overseas trip all paid for by fans money, to allow you to do the job that could just have easily been done here at home? Nice one
